This Christmas, Tony Mortimer of East 17 and Waltham Forest Youth Choir cover the classic track ’Stay Another Day’ in support of CALM, a charity dedicated to preventing male suicide. Recorded in Walthamstow E17 where it all began! More info: stayanotherday.info
Personally, I'd advise choirs to steer well clear of east 17, after seeing their horrifying "house of love" music video, and all the evil symbolism contained within it.
one remarkable thing about 90s music - comments come from all countries and every language possible. It shows music really meant something back then...
Tony is truly talented and so witty that he deserved much more recognition, these messages deserved to be heard around the world in earnest and not as a vulgar commercial product. Tony and Brian had a great artistic fusion, it's a shame they didn't get along because of an ego and communication problem, to be manipulated by the music industry everything fell, that is a pity. Tony has really beautiful and engaging lyrics, he has great fluidity, he's an extraordinary artist, he has real artistic sensitivity. Brian has a wonderful, fluid and dynamic voice, he has great energy. All this mixture makes a beautiful artistic harmony and a beautiful reflection on life! all this potential gone it's really sad
Thanks for sharing that! Thought it was spectacular. I've always loved this track and had liked East 17, yet I knew nothing of the artists themselves, not even their names. Your post has given new meaning to this song which is greatly received.
I started listening to western music when I was like 15 and this was one of those songs on that first MTV music cassette which was of my Dad. Good old days 😍
2024 I’m 45 and still listening. We are from London (my mother from Kensington) and I was working in Covent Garden at 16. Long live the Anglo Saxons 🏴🏴
Love that the Anglo saxons ❤❤❤ my grandmother was born 1902 and Kensington and Chelsea was where my grandmother and mother loved to be ❤❤❤ my family goes back to 1800s london and possibly beyond
2022, aged 41. Just listened to P.S.B and came back to this version. Both incredible in my view 🙌 obvs original is the nuts but I grew up as an 80's baby appreciating the new electronic sound coming through 🎹🎺
2022, age 48.....only today I heard the East 17 version of West End Girls!! And I like it💜 Where was I in 1993, guess I missed something🤔🤭🤭 Of course I know the original by PSB: it's splendid🤩

This was actually the first version of this song I heard. I love both versions now, obviously, but this one will always hold a special place in my heart.

Wow, I'm instantly transported back to being a teenager back in the 90s. His voice never changed, he absolutely was East 17, they'd of been nothing without Brian.

F'oath! Everyone was rocking bright as shit baggy as hell jeans- chicks and dudes- cross colours were the shit I had a purple pair and a mustard pair 🤣
I Really love this Song! The Original Version is from the Pet Shop Boys, but the Version of East 17 is Really good. Brian Harvey sings the Refrain and Tony Mortimer the Rap Parts. At the Original Version from the Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant Doing the Lyrics all alone. Greetings from Germany!
fantastic track and I prefer this version to The Pet Shop Boys Version! love how deep this version is with a heavy Urban pop hook love it master piece! Brian Harvey just has the most amazing vocals pop royalty

the thing E17 had was appeal from both sexes, but the other boybands, it was just for the girls, this is why E17 works so well.

Easy to laugh at now, but back in the early to mid 90s Brian Harvey’s style was on point. Baggy jeans, jumpers, hats, big earrings.
