When will Nintendo learn to allow this thing to be used as a tablet that plays games.
If they did that they would make even more billions.
Public perception can make or break a product. They'd make a ton now but then no one in the gaming space will take their next console seriously. It happened with the wii. You had grandmas and even my middle school using the wii for corny fitness games. They were printing money. Until the Wii U came around and that coupled with horrible marketing made it one of nintendos biggest failures. The only high points of that console were Smash, Zelda and Mario Kart. All of which ended up being overshadowed by their superior Switch versions. And that definitely isn't the only reason the Wii U underperformed like ot did but it was definitely a large part. All that to say, they'd get some short term money but marketing it mainly as a tablet for the casuals would hinder them in the long term. Only time it's ever worked was when everyone had a PS2 to use as a DVD player. But they still marketed it as a video game console first and foremost.

PlayStation & Xbox have browsers & native streaming apps & they're always thought of as a gaming console first & so would the Nintendo Switch. Also, what do you mean superior Switch versions of those games. The Wii U & Switch versions of games are basically exactly the same. Nintendo doesn't update their graphics very much if at all from each generation console. Look at Zelda: BOTW & TOTK, 6 years apart & there was zero significant graphics upgrade. That's why Nintendo doesn't belong in the console wars because it's not a series gaming console.

Why Netflix, Hbo, Facebook etc. are not available as apps is the biggest drawback of the Switch. They would have sold even more if they were. They have a UA-cam on it!

IT DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE, apparently Nintendo patched that you can't play videos on the web, only with official apps
Well it works to a point, I can get to Netflix via the browser as shown in the video, but it's asking for silver light. Can this be downloaded to update the browser as it won't play without it unfortunately. Any advice on this would be welcome, many thanks 👍

I got it working but then can’t watch anything because my browser doesn’t have the Microsoft silver light plug in 😭 worked up til there though, maybe it’s because my switch isn’t the oled one idk. Thanks for the tutorial tho dude

it doesn't work, all this "trick" is just taking you to the Netflix website but the videos or anything don't load

So all the alternative DNS is doing is forcing a captive portal redirect to google instead of a login page spoofing a web browser. Ok that's great but it won't let you stream Netflix. I also tried VUDU and it won't let you log in. Seems to be unsupported web browser. Was a good attempt though. Might be a potential way to execute some unsigned code for other uses. But not for streaming netflix

So do I have to do this everytime I wanna watch Netflix on my Switch OLED? Also, is there a UA-cam, Hulu & Disney+ app for Switch & if so where do I go to download them? Because I never see any apps like that on the Nintendo eShop. I mean, a 7" OLED display with an actual traditional 16:9 aspect ratio would be great for watchin' movies & TV shows on. You know, instead of on our phones. I have a Galaxy Z Fold4, but with it's 5:4 aspect ratio, unless you zoom in, it's not that much bigger than a big flagship phone like a Galaxy S23 Ultra or iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Ok so dont even bother doing this, it doesnt work, you would have to download and android ROM to tour switch. UA-cam is on the eshop though, but that's about it.
