Now that I’m a couple months into this new EDC pack hobby I’m able to get around to packs that are a bit outside of my direct interest or comfort zone.
The Evergoods Griffin CPL24 is exactly such a pack with its waxed canvas exterior. It just so happens they only had a few directly from Evergoods, so I figured it was now or never!

They said that for this bag they wanted to keep the heritage vibe all the way through. The back panels and strap pads on the other versions of their bags are extremely great! Some of the best in breathability. They have a video of the making of it up on the Evergoods channel. Man I swear the more I watch your videos, the more I more I think you might be into TheBrownBuffalo.
Appreciate that insight! I totally get why they would go that route here, but it definitely impacts comfort to a degree. The Brown Buffalo is interesting. Haven't tried one yet. The quality on them looks fantastic! I'm not the biggest fan of the design (just a personal preference, they're pretty straightforward), and I can't get over their logo and the name saying "The Brown Buffalo" so prominently on their packs. If I did love the design of one I would probably take the logo off to make it more nondescript. That said, I have a feeling I'll get around to giving one a shot eventually. Hey brother! Great to hear from you! You definitely did not miss it, I have not made a video like that yet, but it is a great idea and something I feel I will get around to with time! I'd say I'm in the stage of actively exploring the landscape, and I do have my favorite packs of the moment, but expect it will actively evolve the more that I see. I also have a fully custom pack on the way that is currently under construction, and I suspect when it is done it will become my personal favorite pack of all time, so I definitely want to wait for that to get here! Basically - I'd love to do it, and I probably will, but I want a bit more time to see what's out there first. Thanks for the comment and kind words! I always appreciate your support!🍻🤙

@expatadventureturkey9324 definitely appreciate that, thank you! Oh my gosh, you have no idea, the custom pack was completed this morning and it is a personal dream come true! I cannot wait to share it! As for the Dragon vs Unicorn 2.0 and Cerberus, I would say it really comes down to size and how much you want or need to carry. If you're satisfied with the size of the Unicorn 2.0, then being the newest pack, it really has all of the latest features. However, if you ever feel like you could use more space, there's no question the Dragon is WAY bigger. For me personally, the size of the Dragon suits the camera equipment I need to carry better. As a result, if I could only keep one, it would have to be the Dragon, but that doesn’t mean I plan to let go of my Unicorn 2.0 anytime soon either. Hope that helps!
I have the standard version. Even though I like the feel and look of waxed canvas, there are 2 reasons why I won't get the Griffin edition. 1. That damn bright orange interior. 2. I live in the tropics, and waxed canvas is not ideal in humid climates.
Haha, the orange is definitely a sharp contrast to the muted black exterior. I definitely would not have expected it if I just saw the pack in a random store. I generally prefer high contrast, but I also like crazy things. Black packs in general are a bit boring for me, but they serve their purpose at times. I have yet to test it, but you raise a great point that I've heard before. I have a waxed canvas jacket that I love, but I only wear it during the winter. I totally forgot that black waxed canvas in the California sun could be problematic, especially during the summer months. Obviously, with humidity, even more so. Thanks for the reminder! @FlawlessActivity I forgot to mention, I've had a Trakke Wee Lug messenger for a couple of months. Because of the waxed canvas, I sold it. But the yellow/orange fabric of the interior was really lovely. It felt very nice in the hands, and the bright color was not piercing into my eyes. Now, all Trakke products (I had an older version) use dry waxed canvas. Maybe it will work better in hot and humid climates. Have you tried any Trakke products? Anyway, thanks for the video.
