Nintendo has not been censoring games for a decade now. They have near hentai visual novels on their store. They made an announcement ages back to parents being idiots buying clearly marked MA games for their children then being surprised the game had adult content if they aren't going to pay attention to the rating, and parent their kids, that's not their problem.

Helldivers 2 is still a very fun game but Sony needs to stop their corporate greed same for the rest of the industry.
Can't get screwed by corpos while playing a 15 year old offline only game or an old rom in an emulator. Anything can happen on the internet but once I got those DRM free offline games and software on my devices without any phoning home and login requirements, I'm blissfully untouchable.

It likely will but first order of business is to force Sony to retract their dumb account requirement. That’s literally the only problem here. The game itself still has some bugs but those can be ironed out in the next patch update.

I'm friends with some community managers and Public relations personnel, they will try to gaslight people into dropping the issue so they stop complaining.
They would pretend they don't care about the issue and that registering is not a big deal, but a person who truly doesn't care about the issue won't even bother defending Sony and just continue on playing the game with their registered PSN accounts. At least most people who don't really care that I personally know of, like my cousin, just continues to play the game with his registered PSN account.
But PR personnel would employ every tactic to gaslight people:
"Other companies does it, why complain now?"
"Registering takes 20 secs, it's not a big deal"
"You guys are just complaining, majority of people don't really care"
etc...
Their priority isn't to change people's opinion, but to shut people up and drop the issue.

One of the great parts is, the majority is quite loudly making it known they aren't for it in reviews. I don't know about how many of those translate to refunds, but many of those negative reviews at least state they're requesting a refund.

Get your refunds for that game (and helldivers), make/join a class action lawsuit if you don't get one (like people SHOULD do for helldivers), or learn to be content with things getting worse. Because again, petitions are LESS than worthless as they never care about them and you waste time and energy on it instead of threatening them with an even higher economic cost they can't ignore.

Strangely enough they released a few PS4 games on GOG as well which is a DRM free shop. So they can't do anything or require anything if you bought their game from there. I guess they don't care controlling your game if it is a single player but they want to have control over online services type of games.

Actually AH was in on this. They can cry and act like they are the victim all they want, but they were fully aware this was coming as it was in the initial agreement. AH was able to shift a lot of player support to Sony this way, therefore save money. Let’s not act like AH is the sad little David that got clapped by Goliath, AH was trying to gain from it just as Sony did, only Sony doesn’t try to cry and act like they knew nothing.

To the guy ranting. The difference with the other games is the timing of making it mandatory to use PSN, it should have been that way since launch if that's the case, and it still doesn't address people where PSN isn't available
It would appear they did this on purpose because the release sales would've been FAR worse had they required(enforced their requirement) a PSN acct from the start. THIS WAS LIKELY TO LURE EVERYONE IN.....and we fell for it. Requesting refund.

What boggles my mind, is how people are attacking each other over Sony's decision. No one is arguing that the game itself is bad, if anything I think most everyone is in agreement that HD2 is fun! People are upset at Sony. Also I'm pretty sure the argument most people are making about making other accounts, I'm pretty sure you need those accounts before your able to play at all. Where as HD2 for what 3 months now hasn't? That is why it feels bad to people, imo.

I heard that there was a grace period for PC players to create a psn account, and Sony is stating that the grace period is over. If that is true, doesn't that mean the devs were well aware of that? But of course the money was rolling in so everything was fine.
Fuck this Dev team. They signed a contract with Sony, knew this was gonna happen and kept quiet.
Guess what you did when you bought a Sony owned, Sony published, Sony exclusive game? You signed a contract with Sony. It's their game play by the rules or seriously fuck off quietly
Think about it, if that was true they won't be selling HD2 in countries where people can't create a PSN account on day 1 of the game being launched. It wasn't meant to be temporary.
No official statement of affected players able to refund when linking accounts become mandatory from Arrowhead and SONY from day 1 of the announcement is pretty telling there weren't any plans to mandate it before. This is a sudden decision from SONY.
Sony was the one who used the term 'grace period' - that was Sony's announcement, from Sony.
AH is starting to act like they're surprised it's going down this way or at least that they didn't know it meant people in a lot of the world who already bought the game won't be allowed to continue to play it because of PSN restrictions in certain countries.
But I imagine AH must have known, and are only acting otherwise because of the backlash. Before when they didn't think it would upset their business and be a serious problem they didn't have issue with it - at least that's my speculation.
Something tells me, SONY is sinking like Titanic, right now.
This actually makes me sad.
Was about to buy HD2 because of all the positivity, and the fact that they clamped down on that one wokie that was worrying me about her abusing her power to enforce her ideology, but I will not be buying the game now.

This makes me wonder. We all thought that this thing will affect all countries except those that have PSN available but now we know that there is a chance many of this countries might need a console to make an account. So is even less than the number of those countries.
That really limits it to very few then and completely killing the game. Unless Ukraine is an exception for some reason.
I live in USA where PSN is obviously available but I'm standing with all international Helldivers. Just because you were born in the wrong country doesn't mean you're not a citizen of Super Earth.

I sold my PS5 and cancelled my PSN Plus subscription. I don't even play Helldivers but Sony has been up to some shady stuff and I'm willing to throw away all of my games than support them.
I had a PS4 and a PS5 and I gave away my PS4 and sold my PS5.
I got enough of that shit company.
They piss on us gamer more for each day that comes and I am done being pissed on.
I have also stopped playing Helldivers 2 on my PC even if I enjoyed playing it a lot.

It was never about making the account. It was always about waiting 3 months to enforce it and hundreds of countries unable to make a psn account. I hate having to make Rockstar or Ubisoft account, but at least it was required at launch.

The PSN requirement was there at launch. Go watch the trailers before the game released and the launch trailer. The requirement is listed right at the end of the trailers. It's also been in the TOS since day one. Arrowhead announced after launch that they were temporarily disabling the requirement for 3 months so they could fix server issues. I swear people can't read or listen. You guys make me embarrassed to be a gamer.

Its sad to see that Halo 3 ODST even outlived Helldivers…
They basically killed their game. They didn't totally end it, and there are still many people playing, but the amount of good will lost and people that either stopped playing or can't play anymore, in a game that has microtransactions, halving your audience is basically self termination.
Any industry based in California/Silicon Valley ultimately winds up getting in its is own way and shooting itself in its own feet. Sony used to be such a great company when it was Japanese-run.
In some regions, when you get to the age verification step, you must give them a face ID or a picture of your government ID. That's right, the company that gets hacked all the time wants your government ID, so they store it... err, I mean to verify age...
The difference between MS, Ubicrap or Rockstar vs Sony is that the former announced it from day 1 instead of waiting 3 months and then weasel the requirement.
And one of those companies is getting their customer database hacked regularly.
Is still shitty requiring it though. I don't play any EA or Ubisoft titles that need me to connect to their services stuff.
Hell even Steam is something i avoid if i can by buying my games on GOG because i don't like having to log on to play a game i bought.
I want to install whatever version i want, on whatever OS the game can support(not Steam) and do with it whatever i like.
Only GOG offers all that.
Gamers should really fight for DRM free games as well because that is the way you make this sign-up launchers useless.
If a game is on GOG and Steam then go buy it from GOG. Make DRM free sales stronger.

Actually it was announced day one, by both Sony and Arrowhead. It's in the TOS when you first bought the game. Also go look at the pre-launch and launch trailers for Helldivers 2. When server issues started occuring during launch, Arrowhead announced that there would be a 3 month grace period on the PSN requirement. So this requirement was there day one. Sorry that people can't read.

Honestly if I was Arrowhead, I'd say screw the contract, let Sony sue, and make an announcement that the changes will NOT be made regardless of what Sony wants.
But sadly they chose NOT to do that and even worse have been shown to have woke IDIOTS as the ones managing things.....all of which have made quite clear they are full of woke crap then ran like woke cowards when there bs bit them hard nearly instantly.
Problem is, you already had people in arrowhead that supported this.
They need it, so they can use the sony rules to ban players for toxic behavior, like not wanting rainbow cloaks.
Now, we will see if the arrowhead leadership support this, but the community managers did.

And they can speak about "how it is free and no bid deal", but we already know they have started ai programs to help ban players for toxic behavior, like not supporting lgbt. And you can not unbound your steamplaystation account later, meaning 1 sony hack, and you lose your steam account at the same time.
