    wow, fresh out the box and already sounds great. i guess for those that don't want to put in the time and effort to mod the board than this is perfect. but not if you're the type to tinker. i wouldn't waste my money on it, bc i can't help but mod and tinker with my keebs

    I got one about 2 weeks. (in the name of xinmeng m71) Overall the build quality is fine , very decent and solid. The switches are prelube only on the rail so you can hear the scratchy sound form other part. First time open the case, I ruin an allen head screw which is very hard to unscrew. Anyone plan to mod this please be prepare for the factory tighten level (very tight).
    One thing I want to add is that the stabs are very lose and ticking in the level that i dont like. I did not do the holy mod yet. I will later. I try changing the plate mount stabs set that I already have but it does not fit the thickness of the plate (too thick). This pcb does not support screw in stabs, so not many choice to fix this rattle and ticking other than mod the factory stabs
    I did 3 layer tape mod and change the switch to KTT kang white, and it sounds thockier than the white jade switch.
    in my area i can get it under 60$ include shipping. It is the best budget i ever own.

      are the factory stabs pre-lubed?
      I just bought one and waiting to deliver. Not sure if i should also order aftermarket stabs so I can do mod a vanilla stab to my liking.

      The ticking from those stabs was really bad that it was noticeable in the audio of this video. Most of these budget prebuilts have pretty bad stabs. I have tried to fix some of them before and it's a lot of work that sometimes can't overcome their bad build tolerances and they'll always tick since they're simply too loose or tight.
      Did you try removing the foam from the mount near the spacebar? having a mounting point at the spacebar really mutes that sound there.
      How is the flex? Other reviewers say it's pretty stiff and there's no room for both case foam and tapemod at the same time.

    There should be a set of pet film above the pcb that also help with the sound.

    • @imaybedead6096
      @imaybedead6096 Рік тому

      Well considering that the M1W costs more for the barebones version and the fact that they also charge you for shipping ($15-$30) yeah I would say this is better for the price, unless I'm just unaware of something that the m1W provides over this keyboard.
