    This is cool that they could all get together and share their ideas! It doesn't really matter how realistic it is for today's standards, it's the sheer fact that the ideas are there giving us a goal to strive for. Cool stuff Jay!

    I love the bullshit factor here. They really want to listen to the people. They really want all the new ideas. Then they make a saloon version of an A3 and synically market the hell out of it over there.

    That "flying" giant electric razor perhaps ought to be called the WangJia. If she calls it the "Jia", it might be confused with the Kia. However, in China, the first name is actually the surname and the last name is the given name. So it would probably be called a "Wang".
    I notice the video came out in 2012. Is it in production yet? If so, then the "flying car" would technically be ready just in time for 2015, the year that "Back To The Future II" (1989) predicted there would be flying cars. Though it actually is a "hover car" just like Jay Leno called it. I think McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) would trade in his hovering skate board for that in a heartbeat!

    And that said, a good driver isn't only about car control, it's about social competence too. A good driver thinks into his surroundings, is precautios and does not have an ego or at least he should not be egoistic.Only the combination of social competence and car control makes a good driver.

    I want cars to get simpler, not more complex. Focus on making it into a driving tool, not an accessory full of fancy gizmos. Spend all the r&d money on handling, put in a known reliable and economical engine like a honda k24, and design it to be as simple as possible

    A profitable public transit system is a very rare thing. If San Diego has done it, then it should be copied. But rarely does the Government do anything more efficiently than the private sector, and even more rarely do I trust the numbers the Govt puts out to prove anything. The best solution is to simply leave the City, move the work and living farther out. It causes the dreaded Sprawl. But it works. That is what has happened in Cincinnati. The suburbs are flourishing independently.

    When he said PCP I wasn't sure I heard him right. But this floating design is cool, I think the idea is that if we had magnetic roads, it would function like a Maglev train, hovering above ground. But hovering without that technology, I don't know how it would be achieved.

  • @NFreund
    @NFreund 11 років тому

    They are there to help. But in conditions, a wary driver would either drive very very carfully or would not drive at all. For example if you're tired, you should know you're limits before the cars attention assist warns you. BAS and ABS are good things, and even ESP can be good. But most drivers overestimate their capabilitys, just because they think they have driven many many miles or kilometers and that enough experience to be a good driver. But exactly that's the problem: Routine.

    If you don't think the tire and petrol industry have been thwarting the hover car since Henry Ford rolled out his first car, you are naive.
    The ground is a conductor. You don't need to lay out metal surfaces. Simply increase the magnetic field slightly to accomodare the lower conductance of the earth. Also the ocean is salt water and conducts even better. Riding a hover car on salt water is even easier.

  • @kens97sto171

    New York, London, Chicago have large mass transit systems, and they still have terrible congestion. Too many people need to go to places that the mass transit system does not go to. I think the answer is using the internet to be able to work from home. Many jobs could be done remotely. Also transit systems cost billions of dollars to build, and then operate at a loss, with the taxpayer footing the bill. We need more than just transit systems, a multiple angle approach will be needed in the end

  • @iVolkswagen

    It'll be over 30 years until we probably see even prototypes before we see anything remotely like these vehicles (especially the floating ones). Just look how long it took the electric car to finally become widely available/used. Yep they did, It's what happens when you raise taxes, fees, regulations etc. Fail to manage the poor, and crime. PEOPLE MOVE OUT!!! and they did. Cincinnati has a very large highway loop around it. There are lots of independent communities around that loop, both in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. People moved to those areas, and commercial and industrial activity moved too. We certainly still have commuters, a lot of them. But a Super city between Cincy and Dayton is growing from the suburbs.

Jeff figure "hey im a handy man" so jeff goes to try and fix it himself after working on it for hours he thinks he is finallly finished
