I honestly do not care how many times you say Corvettes are faster or built better, Vipers will always invoke that special feeling no other car can. It is such a unique and timeless, distinctively American design.
I own 1 and your right... Especially kids!!
I'm proud to say that we do have both the Vets and the Vipers and are from American muscle :D

I like how he isn't shy or quiet about the fact that he can afford all of these cars, yet he isn't arrogant about it.
Gun Sam his tone is saying "yeah I own a couple Vipers, a Countach, several 911's; but it doesn't make me better than you" and that's why I like Jay Leno. The only guy named Jay that isn't a douchebag.

Exactly and across both oceans. The logistics alone for the US were mind boggling.
That was til America brought out the big guns. Definitely my favourite super car. Stroke that motor with a couple turbos and then you got ludacris amount of power.
I love this SRT Dodge Viper. When you listen to him, you notice that he doesn't really care how his car performs compared to other European contenders. He actually has built this Viper for the sake of passion.
That's why Ralph Gilles should be CEO of FCA, not Sergio.

He doesn’t care cause he knows it will destroy all European’s in its segment. Notice I said segment like in its price range, obviously a million dollar P1, 918, or Laferrari will make short work of it on a track but they should.

Viper, Corvette, and the Ford GT. The sexiest and best performing vehicles that America has ever produced in my opinion. Also, the only ones to truly compete against Europe's best and be successful at it.
Europe has an elitist culture. America serves the working class, like Henry Ford. The real measure of engineering prowess is in military.

As I get older I find the Viper more and more beautiful.
I didn't like it growing up. But as I age I understand how magnificent it would be to have one sitting in the garage.
Something special. It's the right size, it's engaging. It's got elegant timeless lines from the 60s Daytona body designs.
I can picture myself on a warm summer night just cruising along the coast, engine rumbling away. Shifting the gears.
This is a car you keep forever and when your old, you look at it and recall all of those beautiful summer nights you experienced in it when you were both young.
Viper is an exotic car the vette not so much....Even 90's Vipers are still head turners

funny because vipers aren't exotic cars...they are American muscle/super cars. I believe the last of their kind too.
They're both technically "American exotics" and both turn heads. Just because the Corvette is seen more frequently doesn't mean it's not "exotic". Think of Italy. They see super cars and hyper cars EVERYDAY, doesn't mean they're any less exotic lol
@@Taipanshowtime They are 100% considered exotics/supercars. They arent muscle cars. Unless you want to classify two cars that have been in the top 10 multiple times for lap times at Nurburgring, laguna etc.. Muscle cars are mustangs, camaros, chevelles, firebirds, gtos and so on.
In that case there are a lot of 2wd v8/v10 European cars are considered muscle.

No V10 = no viper. If they do this, they won’t sell. Big mistake. Put a V10, I don’t care if it is a 4Liter Supercharge V10, but it must be a V10.

I think this guy is easily the coolest car guy Jay has ever had on the show. I'd actually like to hang out with him, seems like a funny, down to earth guy.
Recently bought my first viper. A 2002 GTS. Growing up playing video games like need for speed hot pursuit 2 I always dreamed of having my own. I got lucky enough to work and save up and after 5 months of searching I finally found the one. I live in a small town and even tho it's a 2002 it's like a supercar driving around. :) not the most comfortable ride however but I'm very proud.

That's what I like about Dodge. They are not PC. There the only car company that sells driving fast, and breaking traffic laws. Burnout demonstration is too cool.

Its not just about the cars, its also about the amazing people that are behind the making of these works of art and amazing machinery, and the history of it all, and he grasps each and everyone of those points every time. This is like the smiliest video I've seen from Jay Leno's Garage. Both of these guys were having a lot of fun. If you watch the whole video you see them both smile and laugh. Seems like the best time a car guy could have.

I owned a 1993 Viper and put 40,000 miles on it before selling it in 1998. Great video. It made me feel a pang of nostalgia, but it is good to the the Viper franchise moving forward so beautifully.
Did you guys know that Jay has not spent one dime of his Tonight Show earnings to this day. He bought everything he has from touring his stand up comedy. That is one smart man!

When Jay was saying how Europeans go crazy for American cars is so true, I'm in the UK and when even a V6 mustang pulls up at some lights everyone pulls out there phone to take photos
Must be a UK thing. In the rest of Europe we laugh at that ridiculous car, then at the moron who was stupid enough to buy a new 'merican muscle car. Now, show up in an old Trans Am, Charger or GTO, yes, people will go craxy over it.
I'll admit quality wise american cars don't usally match up to alot of Euro cars, and in alot of other ways as well. However (especially in the UK) American imports are rare and pretty exciting to see

After Daimler and Chrysler merged in 1998, there was a story circulating that when some Daimler people from Germany came to Chrysler World Headquarters they kept asking, "Where is the wiper?" and at first no one knew why they were asking about (windshield) wipers. Until realizing that Germans pronounce V as W, and they were actually eager to see the Dodge Vipers

I want a 13/ up Viper, but the prices are holding firm around 80k.
And now that the Viper is canceled, expect those prices to stay there for a while, if not go up unless Dodge brings back the Viper.
