Out of all th shows in the 1980s Night Rider has never lost its cool or fame, many other shows in that era seem quirky and silly now, bt Night Rider still retains that fascination, probably coz of an intelligent car, and we are bordering on an A.I. world plus robotics ect, I think that's one reason why Night Rider is still so popular amongst the fans 😇
Apart from the shorts magnum PI is still good. Bought the original series and it has not aged. Still good episodes. Well worth watching.
Married with children is still hilarious and watching jokes that would be banned nowadays adds to it.

Knight Rider definitely should get a big screen movie version. AI cars are very topical. It could do some big box office. Macgyver also. They should stop remaking those for TV and do something bigger like the Mission: Impossible movies.
Mark's Interesting Facts: Most of the footage of the landslide from about 5 mins onward is recycled footage from the earthquake in Superman: The Movie.

KITTs programming is to protect human life. Viewers learn about this when his evil twin prototype KARR escapes in Trust Doesn't Rust later in Season One.
A very memorable episode. However, some of the footage used in this scene was also likely used in the first Superman movie back in 1978. Still, it was effective.

Yes, many of the devices used by KITT were only used once and not mentioned again. Either they were designed to only be used once, or they malfunctioned and couldn't be used again. (It's stated in later episodes that KITT was never meant to have offensive weapons.)

Hey! at the scene from Superman the movie Christopher Reeve. They ripped it off😆.
That last part was used in a Superman movie i remembered that. Same thing but why rocks fall without that rocket from K.I.T.T. was same view pointing it out.

That Superman footage was used effectively.
Its stock footage. Many many movies and tv shows use it to cut costs after all it takes a lot of money to shoot new scenes in the era before CGi especially if they are the same scene used over and over. Even CGI has stock footage its just easier to manipulate
I remember seeing the dam footage from an episode of the Incredible Hulk (Prometheus). The footage itself is owned by Universal, and I think was used in a Universal film, according to director commentary by Hulk series creator Kenneth Johnson. Yes, the other shots were from Superman.
They used to do that alot back then, especially in TV since they were going for cheap over quality. They did a Hulk episode built solely around shots of the truck from Spielberg's Duel because they could save so much effort. The story goes, Spielberg saw the episode late on night and thought the footage looked familiar. No one really ever noticed since these used to hit air once or twice and that was it. I remember this Knight Rider moment especially because Superman came on TV everyone once in a while and you couldn't help but notice the same footage.
Garret Gray That was the early 80’s with those and the epitome of wholesale stock footage producing was “THE FALL GUY”. It changed dramatically in terms of expense (for the better) with “THE A-TEAM”, “AIRWOLF” and “T.J. HOOKER”. That last show began in early ‘82, but it was fairly cheap to begin with.
“Knight Rider”, in all fairness, cost a fortune during this inaugural 1st Season. The jumps and live pyrotechnics didn’t last. The studio resorted to miniatures for the most part thereafter, despite the series being a huge, global hit in the immediate 2nd year. Still, it was too expensive for NBC and they weren’t prepared to stump up more for the budget.
Universal wouldn’t have wanted to go too far in deficit financing it - i.e. not going beyond what the network was investing per week. They’d match it and that was it.

@@jedijones It was “Capricorn One”. The producer who said that was mistaken. He may’ve used footage from a James Bond movie at *some* point...but not on “The A-Team”. Probably on one of his other shows.

I just wish something like that happened during the Fucking (1991 GULF WAR) but instead of Water it was (DAM OIL) During Operation Desert Storm Sudden Husain Killed Alot of native life I was there I Served with Australia Because I'm half Aboriginal but when it came to NEW ZEALAND MILITARY ONLY THE (M.T.C) THAT (SERVED) along side (AUSTRALIA) AND (UNITED STATES) and what (M.T.C) stands for is (MEDICAL TREATMENT CORPS)

Wouldant ThE water jyst back fill till it crests OVER the landslide then continue on its way down river and still flood them out... Just take a little longer???
The idea was to slow the flood down, decreasing the destructive force.

Do u mean K.I.T.T.'s scanner light? (the red light in is hood) and yes that's true it's not always on, its quit easy to see when it's on or off.

Have you watched the episodes or any of them...else you would have got my point.
Ofcourse i typed into my computer coz i dont talk to my comp whole day long like michael does coz its not smart enough like kitt 😂. He practically keeps talking to kitt the whole episodes like its his soul mate. From getting details about a person, scanning an area, getting the car to do things by itself, even comforts michael when hes emotional...etc. At times kitt gets angry too. So that shows they made its AI seems amazing/futuristic even for todays standards. Since its so geniously programmed....why the buttons on the first place??? Hope you getting my point now.
P.S. Its just a point to ponder in a funny way. Nothing seriously considered since its just a show 👍

Heavy copywrite infringement from using 'Superman: The Movie' footage.
Not if they paid to use the footage. You usually get at the end of credits acknowledging the use of footage from other media.
@@Steve10578 Why would WB sell Universal footage from a movie only 4 years old that had its prime time network TV debut that same year, including its second network airing only 9 DAYS after this Knight Rider episode first aired? And that was on a competing network. Not to mention Superman was getting another sequel in theaters in just a matter of months. Conceivably audiences could end up thinking Superman ripped off Knight Rider if they watched the original movie on ABC after seeing this episode. As they say on The Simpsons, I certainly hope someone got fired over that one.
