I am from South India Bangalore. There are certain business communities in my city who have come from north India. They create their own secluded spaces and apartment complexes. They keep their business opportunities within their own community. If I want to start a business, it is hard to break into their circle. I believe it is these communities who are in Kenya and other African nations. They were not only kicked out of Uganda/Kenya but even here they dont have a good reputation with the locals.
No wonder Ali looks familiar I also grew up in nbi West...fantastic show

In my view, it’s mainly about the Indian religious caste system.
Many people of Indian origin including diaspora Kenyans have strong adherence to their culture. Their cultural caste system believes that some communities are superior and others are inferior and should be subservient. This is the religious belief under which many Indians are brought up.
Back in India, the dark-skinned Indians of the south are typically the lower caste communities. So even here in Africa, the Indians will look down on Africans as belonging to a lower caste or community. There are residential communities (apartment blocks) even here in Nairobi that are exclusively inhabited by Indians and unwelcoming to Africans.
The reality of the caste system being segregationist is very unfortunate.
Hi Charles, thank you for commenting and expressing your views... What do you think about what DJ SISTUKI said that this might be just a first and 2nd Generation problem... the Indians who've been in Kenya for 4 or 5 generations are more integrated? What are your thoughts?
all south Indians are dark skinned. brahmins, and other so-called "upper" caste are all dark skinned on average. This is some dumb idea american blacks spread to hate all Indians.
The Caste system was introduced by British during colonization
The word Caste is a Portuguese word
😂😂i am dark but i am upper cast ,and do you know pm modi comes from lower caste and president comes from untouchable class .So you are wrong.Indians live with same people who speak same language ,gujrati lives with gujarati ,punjabi lives with punjabi ,as i am from up i will prefer to live with up ,or from people from delhi .
@@kirannnnnn Caste is in Indian subcontinent since Harappan civilizations. Nothing to do with the British or Portuguese.
