Great content. Thanks guys. Charlie has been omnipresent through my decades of learning harmonica. 🎺
Man, this stuff is so great.
Mark thank you sooo much for posting this! Priceless 🤜❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love ya Charlie...so much gratitude for yr music..you feed the ol black man in my soul...
Gospel hit me as a young girl. I know that feeling of it "wrapping around me." Thanks Charlie for taking me back in time..
I fondly remember a harmonica party I attended in the 1990’s with Mark Hummel and Fingers Taylor at the Subway Lounge in Jackson, Mississippi. We was rockin!
excellent!
A deep blue vault.
Thank you guys
Interesting hearing about that transitionary time in Memphis. I only know it from the past couple decades.
❤❤❤
Great!! I went to Dave Barnes to build a small Vintage47 guitar/harp amplifier a few years back at his home and when he told me Charlie was supposed to be there too and couldn't make it I almost cried.
I saw Walter Horton play at a club in SF called the Palms...Always curious about Walter...if he was approachable, if he was nice guy...Great interview
I was there too-I didn’t try to talk to him much. I think he was saying he was Little Walter’s father at that gig!! Lol
Great session! Thanks Mark.
Mark, I hope one day these interviews are preserved in an archive less chaotic then youtube. They are really significant oral histories of the blues.
We too would love to find an additional home and outlet. Any organization that wants to help is welcome
The Smithsonian would probably archive this stuff and I bet they would help fund these interviews too. PBS might be another rout. And I'm sure blues museums would be interested in this stuff.
Great stuff! Documented forever.
it was hard to hear him say but.... Kosciusko Mississippi is his home town.
