- The American Song Contest is right around the corner, so here is a compilation video of all artists who competed on the Eurovision stage with some sort of American connection! These range from being born there with a strong connection to the country they represented, to being fully American and only travelling to Europe for Eurovision itself. I hope you enjoy the video, and make sure to like, comment and subscribe if you want more content like this.

They‘re also honorary citizens of the town Texas in Queensland, Australia!
And the backing singers who were on stage, such as Luxembourg 1981s backing singer

As a fellow Texan I too would give Texas Lightning honorary Texas citizenship
When I was watching the all 39 songs of ESC 2021 video and San Marino came I was like, “The rapper gives me Flo Rida vibes.” I go onto Wikipedia: “Oh, it is Flo Rida.” 🤣

It took me too long to realise that "Joseph Oscar Loya" is the Oscar as in "Alex swings Oscar sings".

I think it would be interesting to see a video on all the participants who are from different countries than those they represented.
e.g. Johnny Logan (born in Australia but represented Ireland)
The only problem would be that Monaco, Andorra, and San Marino would be there a lot ahaha

I think a better option would be artists that participated in Eurovision that aren't European, Israeli or Australian (the question now is if we include Johnny Logan who's Australian but participated before Australia did so)
Johnny Logan may have been born elsewhere, but I'd consider him Irish much more than Australian.

i swore up and down that Alexa was goin to be an interval act at Eurovision. maybe next year, since they had to delay ASC from February due to COVID, i think. things lined up so well this year, but if ASC starts normally next year, i sort of believe the EBU will do a 2015

Eddie Butler (Israel 1999 and 2006) and his brother Gabriel (Israel 1999) were both American
Their parents were from Chicago but they were born in Israel.
Dominika Hašková (lead singer of We Are Domi) was born in Buffalo, New York
Dominika Haskova (CZE 2022) was born in Buffalo, NY but since her dad was a Czech hockey player with the Sabres at the time, she doesn't count. FYI.
Since she would have American citizenship by being born in the US, she definitely counts. At the very least, she counts more than Texas Lightning.

Not sure if this counts for purposes of this video, but Andrea lived in Harlem, New York, for a year before representing North Macedonia in 2022.

You forgot Malik Harris who is participating for Germany 🇩🇪 this year. Although he was born in Germany 🇩🇪 his father is American.

As an American, I think this video pretty much defeats the stereotype that most Americans didn't know Eurovision until the 2010's.
This gives me hope.... My dream has always been to go on a big show like that. Ever since Eurovision became a part of my life, it's been an obsession lol. And if the American song contest will be as a flop as I feel like it will be, Then idk if I'd want to do that. I have ties with the country of Norway. just saying lol

I think you missed Ronnie Tober (1968, "Morgen", Netherlands). Even though he was born in the Netherlands he grew up in Albany, New York. You can even hear a slight American accent in the song.
Maybe these Americans couldve also been based in Europe at the time of their participation in the contest other than travelling to Europe for the Eurovision itself.
