I was blessed to be able to see Dave at a small venue in Portland Oregon called the Aladdin. It occurred on November 11 2022. Dave's vocals and guitar playing were timeless. The musicians that accompanied him were consummate professionals. I purchased a real cool T shirt with Dave's 21st century persona embossed on its front. Forty dollars well spent. The beauty and power of his music has not faded.
Rose I love the version of this song that D.M. recorded on an album in early to mid 70’s. He makes his Firebird absolutely growl at the beginning . Still my favorite version of all that have recorded over the years.
One of the greatest Acoustic Versions I've ever heard of one of my favorite tunes of all time, "All Along The Watch Tower", Hats off to Dave Mason, (Traffic), And Jim Krueger!!👍
I loved seeing Dave Mason with Traffic when I was a teenager. I bought Dave’s solo album “Alone Together” when I was 16, I still play it, love listening to Dave.❤
Excellent! I met Jim in a bar/grill many years ago in Van Nuys, California called The Beer Stein. He used to come in for the grilled bratwurst, a real gentleman he is. This is just so damn good.
You may well wonder ..where have l been..just recently discovered this phenom singer/musician..lucky me to have stayed alive long enough to be ecstatically entertained …hopefully for years to come..thank you to the powers that be..🇨🇦
Saw Dave at the stone pony club in New Jersey, a show IL never forgot , I met him in person . There. 2004. Dave was with traffic in the early days . Great musician an a great guy ❤️
I’m not an acoustic aficionado, but like you said, all the sounds are clear and buzz free, not matter the speed of the changes or length of the neck he’s moving. I know Jim was no slouch, but this is up there with any of the best stuff I’ve seen
Glad you enjoyed it Rich. There is another from this same show that was on UA-cam for exactly 1 year to the day I posted this one. Since there are few videos of Jim I felt I should share this one as well.
Mason played the original backing track with Jimi of his studio version of this and JH worked out the electric parts with many overdubs for a couple more months. Until it was right!
Great acoustic performance of Dylan's Watchtower.......Thamks Glenn for replying...I loved this performance and I still own the VHS recorded tape of this concert........I was always looking to replace on DVD..............
ciscoglenn Thanks for bringing this back, Glenn. I grew up in L.A. and saw several shows at Perkins Palace. Dave's on tour right now, thinking about driving to Laughlin to see him.
Absolutely great acoustic work on a Dylan and Hendrix classic. Thanks to Dave for his veteran charity performances!! PJ the Vet co-star of "Welcome Home" soon to be released.
I grew up in a town 25 minutes from where he’s from. I know as much or more about music and bands, even ones I’ve never listened to than almost anyone I know. Even though I had heard We Just Disagree, and knew of Jim’s later band the Happy Schnapps Combo, I’d never heard his name. There is little to nothing online about him, but he put out at least one solo album in the late 70’s, as well as playing and singing in a progish rockish group. Sometimes people just fall thru the cracks, and guess Jim, despite obviously being an amazing guitarist (who was known in the industry as a great harmony singer) and being pinup good-looking before starting the beard seem here, never quite found his niche. And it’s all of our loss
There must be some way out of here", said the joker to the thief "There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth None of them along the line know what any of it is worth" "No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke "There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late" All along the watchtower, princes kept the view While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl
It’s like he finally sees where Jim is going, and then Jim just goes in a completely different direction with those bassier notes. Watch Dave’s eyes when he changes up…
Dave Mason and Jim Krueger! No where on this video is the name KRUEGER mentioned. I searched; I found; I revealed. JIM K R U E G E R ! ! ! What up widdat ciscoglen?

Love the way Jim's guitar sounds.
I loved seeing Dave Mason with Traffic when I was a teenager. I bought Dave’s solo album “Alone Together” when I was 16, I still play it, love listening to Dave.❤
Had the pleasure of seeing Dave Mason at the 1979 Canada Jam !!! The man is a Legend !!
Heard Dave perform this in 1983 and 2018. One of life's great pleasures. Actually two.
Excellent! I met Jim in a bar/grill many years ago in Van Nuys, California called The Beer Stein. He used to come in for the grilled bratwurst, a real gentleman he is. This is just so damn good.
Great version! RIP Jim.
Greatest version EVER

They are so good! I wish I was that good!
This is a Real Gem of an acoustic interpretation of "Watchtower" with lightning improvs of this great tune!
Saw Dave at the stone pony club in New Jersey, a show IL never forgot , I met him in person . There. 2004. Dave was with traffic in the early days . Great musician an a great guy ❤️
Phew, thought I was hearing an instrumental version of one of the greatest songs ever...but seriously my favorite versions feature Dave MASON
Umm, you were! How ironic is that ❤❤--
Damn, this brings back memories! RIP Jim Krueger
such crisp guitar licks. My favorite version of this classic. That guitar neck and his fingers should be on fire after a performance like that!
I’m not an acoustic aficionado, but like you said, all the sounds are clear and buzz free, not matter the speed of the changes or length of the neck he’s moving. I know Jim was no slouch, but this is up there with any of the best stuff I’ve seen
Absolutely brilliant both players incredible i saw dave mason a few times always great
What a great guitar player Jim Kriger is..........I don't think he ever got the recognition.........Great Song w/Dave..............

Is that Jim "Krueger the Bruiser"?
He did write "We Just Disagree."
@@extantia as well as The Bears Still Suck. Find another writer who covers that much ground!
Fantastic Guitar Riffs 💜☮️
Jim and his guitar become one! Amazing!
Saw Dave at a small venue In pacific beach In 1971It was a place called Earth And the show was awesome. Been a fan ever since
Jim Krueger wrote Dave’s biggest hit We Just Disagree. He was a special talent.
My god! Guitar fantastic
❤❤😊 simply beautifully wonderful
Amazing rendition! LOVE IT!
R.I.P. Jim. ❤
a great Dylan tune... but Hendrix turned it into a masterpiece. Mason turned in a unique version here... nice!
Mason played the original backing track with Jimi of his studio version of this and JH worked out the electric parts with many overdubs for a couple more months. Until it was right!
@@ciscoglenn hey do you have more Dave Mason I remember my brother having his stuff I liked a lot
I saw Dave Mason Live at the Anaheim convention Center in mid-70’s.
Nice. Thank you!!!!
Awesome ❤!! Thanks
Outstanding.........

It never was reprinted. This is from my original Laserdisc but I suppose you could tell.
ciscoglenn Check it out - I just found both the CD and DVD of this show on Amazon. The DVD is a little pricey but I might just invest.
Well it's about time! Thanks for updating me Jeff!
ciscoglenn Thanks for bringing this back, Glenn. I grew up in L.A. and saw several shows at Perkins Palace. Dave's on tour right now, thinking about driving to Laughlin to see him.
And the craziest 💭 thing of all, Dave played on Electric Ladyland😮😳🤦♀️
Absolutely great acoustic work on a Dylan and Hendrix classic. Thanks to Dave for his veteran charity performances!! PJ the Vet co-star of "Welcome Home" soon to be released.
Such great musicians I believe the fellow that is accompanying Dave has passed away
Jim "Bruiser" Krueger - yes
Only an Ovation Guitar could get that sound, I have a 1989 Ovation 6 string, still sounds great.
I tried repairing an Ovation . Alas I did not do it justice. I shame myself .
1967 12 string. Original. Still plays and sounds great.
GREAT JAM
They are both playing Ovations and they sound great.
UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE !!
I’m fucking blown away by Jim Krueger. Holy shit. Why is he not talked about more???
