Here's an idea. Ingredients: 1. One ordinary family sedan, wagon or an MPV with a modest engine 2. A company of family members and/or friends, as many the the car seats. Some luggage would be helpful, too. 3. Some tarmac and 30 mins of time. Can be easily combined with other tests. The recipe: 1. Run a 1/4 mile with an empty car, apart from the driver. 2. Same, but with one passenger this time. 3. Then two passengers. 4. Rinse and repeat until it's fully loaded, per manufacturer's spec sheet. Don't know about you guys - but I haven't seen this kind of test anywhere on UA-cam yet. It could be fun to watch, even more fun to film :)

Seriously though!!! That Dodge Journey we've raced on this channel is also a 4 speed auto and it's a 2017!!!!! Had to triple check to make sure I was reading it right. Yeah Race car Mamsey beat me on both Father's Day AND my birthday!! For her it's all about getting the "W" LOL
You do know, right, that there is such a thing as wireless lavalier mics? LOL. Seeing the wire stretch out that far and being tethered to the camera must be quite inconvenient.
@@KingdomAuto Personally I just use a separate audio recorder and manually sync audio. You can get lav mics that plug into your phones, record audio with your phones, then sync it in post.
@@JustinDaniels Thanks for the info! At this point, we can make due with the wires :) The audio with this setup is really clear so it works for now. We're likely going to grab a set of wireless mic's to hook up to the cameras for Season 2. This was also our very first season filming Ordinary Drag Races, so we used what we had and went from there. As time passes, we'll be able to invest in nicer equipment :)
Dang I was really rooting for the vibe… i have a 06 Toyota Matrix (matrix and vibe are the exact same car with the same engines, transmissions, bodies, and interior, only difference is exterior and badge) and it’s a good car, really good on gas excellent handling lots of storage space and easy to maintain/reliable. The 4 speed auto isn’t great, I bet with the 5 speed manual and good shifts it would have been a closer race. Wish mine was the stick. The XRS model is also even faster as it has a higher revving engine
Yeah those cars are really well built, they last forever! Agreed about the 4 speed auto and the XRS. Would be fun to get an XRS or a manual out there for sure :)
Nope definitely not :) The vehicles were fully up to operating temps, oil was checked, air filters were in good shape and tire pressures were at manufacturer spec :) We always make sure the vehicles are in good shape before (and after) racing
Yeah we totally agree with you! Always good to have proper oil pressure and engine temps before doing something like this 😂😂 Most of the vehicles that we race aren't owned by us, so we check them over and make sure they're in good shape + we also take care of them as much as possible while we're out filming :)
