Jeez, after seeing what Gordon went through in Black Mesa and Xen, the Combine look like a cake walk.
The combine enslaved the whole Nihilanth race fyi
The original half-life has much more variety of enemies and more clever fighting scenes than half-life 2, and half-life 2 doesn't have a final boss (Breen doesn't count)
That's because Half-Life 2 isn't finished. I mean, there should be an Episode 3 or, at least, a Half-Life 3 that finishes the story of 2.

The Nihilanth boss fight use to kinda feel underwhelming but now its worthy of being a final boss
It's unbelievable how much better the fight with Nihilanth is.
I hated the original Nihilanth fight but I do miss the verticality. There was nothing quite like jumping right into his exposed brain and finishing him off with snarks and a crowbar.
Yeah, and it's a shame that everyone who plays this game just starts shooting instead of actually learning the attack patterns or evwn admiring what the boss is doing
Atleast 70% of people who i've watched play this game just shoot and don't learn anything

I remember how badass I felt after zapping the first Gargantuar. What a great game, well done Crowbar Collective! Brings back nostalgia from Half-Life while also remaining fresh in it’s own right.
I remember how the first time a played half life i killed the gargantua by just throwing grenades at him lol

I coudln't kill the last one of them. I had no ammo, just a small amount of it. Just handgun ammo, no explosives or anything else. I never finished Half Life 1, but I did came at it's final end, but I just couldn't finish it. But I did have finished Half Life 2. But I couldn't find Episode One or Episode Two for it's cracked version..

The soundtrack for Gonarch fight is just amazing, making it one of the most legendary boss fights I’ve ever played. Besides, I always think the scenes of alien beasts fighting intelligent ones really lack in both HL and Black Mesa, it could have made the game even more thrilling

It is Fucking Amazing how the team took the Bland Gonarch fight and the abysmal Nihilanth fight, and made them both a harrowing underground chase/proper beast boss showdown, and an evil mastermind-type spectacle boss respectively.

Nihilanth boss fight was creative and well designed. However, I completed the boss fight at first attempt while I failed 6 times with Gonarch. Despite the difficulty problem, Nihilanth boss fight might possibly be one of the few creative boss fights that I can name.
The Nihilanth fight is good and well designed this time, but the path that i need to take to reach him was WAY MORE challenging and frustrating to face, they made Interloper 5 times more longer and rage inducing than the original, so in the end it made the Xen leader a bit of a pushover to me when i played, other than this, i gotta appreciate the tremendous quality job that Crowbar Collective made during 15 years developing this fan game.

Nihilanth ability was so hard to dodge and hard to defeat... Now half life final boss is amazing but it needs a final boss song like Gonarch too

during the nihilanth boss when the 3 yellow crystals come up,you can destroy all 3 at the same time simply by putting the satchel charges one at each.you will get an achievement on this and another achievement for killing him under 5 mins.

Hm.. Try putting everything on low graphic settings and on the lowest resolution possible. The graphics might look terrible, but it's totally worth it for a good game.

The Xen factory was my least favorite part of the game because of this, even with everything turned down to the lowest settings

Anyone else that couldn't kill the last and final boss Nihilanth, besides me? I couldn't have done that because, I had no other ammo besides my pistol ammo. I also had no explosives xdd.
I used the alien machine gun and then the rocket launcher, was a pain in the ass but... An amazing victory.

@@marktan9613 Yeah, but Black Mesa did improve on averting too awesome to use. They gave us the infinite radiation ammo moments in Xen, and made the ammo for it plentiful in the final fight. I don't think I ever touched it after the "firing range" in the original half life.

tentacles, gonarch and nihilanth are the worst BECAUSE you never know if you are really damaging them until they die....first time i played HL i wasted all my ammo and explosives on tentacles, tried it again and again and again..maybe 3 hrs til i found the trick...after that, i figured gonarch and nihilanth had some sort of tricky way also

I feel like they didn't need to drag the fuck out of the Gonarch fight, and the Nihilanth fight was somehow even worse than the original for turning the arena into some sort of shit-tornado.

Всё, как в оригинале, в ХЛ1 депутат давал выбор - войти в телепорт, согласившись на работу, или отказаться от неё, приняв "бой, в котором вы не сможете победить" (или как там он выразился). Хотя, конечно, выбор этот практически ни на что не влияет)
