About Sheepdog Response:
Sheepdog Response was founded by Green Beret, Special Forces, Sniper, and former top 5 UFC Middleweight, Tim Kennedy. Tim was also the co-star of Hunting Hitler on the History Channel, and more recently, Hard To Kill, on the Discovery Channel.
People face threats of violence every day, ranging from large-scale terrorism to one-on-one assaults. Most people are unprepared, unequipped, and untrained to respond effectively. This weakness in the flock allows the wolves to attack with great ease and success.
The answer is not more laws. The wolves don’t follow them. We must give the good guys the tools they need to effectively respond to violence. The more Sheepdogs we can train to be truly ready to respond to a mass shooting, terrorist attack, violent mugging or home invasion, the better the chances are that the bad guys will get what they deserve and the good guys will survive. Most people sign up for martial arts or weapons training expecting to learn realistic self-defense, and few get it…
We have developed a curriculum that addresses the skills you need to successfully respond to threats
A big thank you to both of you gentlemen for your service! So many Americans don’t appreciate what you have done for them. God bless you!😊
30 years in law enforcement, love, love, love shotguns! Not many survive a load of buckshot. Very versatile and powerful. If you aren't shooting it, you're loading it!
I love my shotgun. It is my favorite platform not because I love hunting, but just how easy it is to use. The versatile tool that can be used. I’m old school and love me a pump.
Great video! Very informative, makes me want to not only look in to other brands of shotguns but put more emphasis on training with my shotgun.
Very informative video! The shotgun is a very effective and underrated platform. Definitely interested in going to the Sheepdog Shotgun course in the future.
Awesome video and very informative for noobs. So much to cover, but you guys didn't overwhelm the audience. I love the versatility of a shotgun. It finishes a fight very quickly and effectively. Training is key. You guys nailed it!
Best shotgun vid I've seen in over 10 years on UA-cam.
Love the video, can't wait for the shotgun course to go live.
In 2010 I had a guy try to kick in my door at 4am hoodie and all. He kicked a dozen times or more.....sound of the shotgun cycling had zero affect on him! He never got through my door because of the reenforcement I installed and he lived to see another day.
I'm a big shotgun fan - thanks for the video. I need to take a closer look at the KSG!
Great video!!! Shotguns are like the revolvers of the long gun world. Easy to use and maintain. Super reliable. And gets the job done. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with the world. Stay safe out there.
I was 14 and an escape prisoner was trying to get in to our home and do harm to us as he had written a letter that was found later with him saying that he had intent to do just that. He showed up at our house late at night when my dad was working as a correctional officer and I used the pump action sound and shouted out to him that I would kill his ass if he came in to my house and then the screen door slammed hut and I heard his footsteps running off through the yard. He was picked up not long after that! So there is your stats!
You’re lucky
I don’t even like hearing a 9mm slide much less this
Why isn't Porter's bio on the Sheepdog site? Liked what I saw in this video, wanted to know more about his background, and what classes he may be teaching.
I got a 12 gauge bullpup. Best damn home defense weapon ever invented. Can take 10 round mags or 20 round drums. Can be shoulder/aim fired. Has an 18" barrel and is about the same size as a Mossberg shockwave.
great video!!
Where you shopping bruv, birdshot is 10 bucks now at walmart. great vid though.
Regarding that bit about the sound of a round chambering, that snick-snack noise is super recognizable, and if you're someone up to no good and you hear THAT, you know someone's ready for you, and they're ready to yeet you to the afterlife.
😆👍All of this!
@@rbacklas Well I don't know how many people have ever been a victim of a home invasion. My family has. My teenage son fell asleep on the couch watching TV. A man entered the back door, my son woke up and yelled at him, and he ran back outside. My son grabbed the only weapon he had... a leftover potato he picked up from the coffee table that he had been assigned to peel for supper. He ran out to the back yard, threw the potato, hit the fleeing man in the head and he fell, startled. Picked himself back up and vaulted over the back fence. I think the sound of a shotgun would have the same result different consequences. Not all home invaders are professionals, my dude.
What are your thoughts on the Remington TAC13 with a brace? I have the REM 870 at home and we are issued pumps at work? Also, I might consider the Berreta 1301 but very pricey. At my work, we are issued buckshot low recoil but cannot use slugs !! Makes no sense but as you know admin does not work the road.
437 grains of a nearly 3/4” diameter projectile going 1600 fps is going to mess up just about anything in its path. That’s why I like shotguns.
Over pen is such an over blown fear.
We went to 556/223 because it pens LESS than 9mm from a sub-gun.
Yeah thats a myth that came about from a bunk FBI study. I've personally seen SS109 blow through 3 residential houses. So you might wanna take some time to check that one out for yourself. I've seen that nonsense all over the internet.
@@kennethbranson4711 Or ignore one bunk study you talk about and look and the fact the thousands of departments have done the SAME testing, and swapped from 9mm sub guns to 556/223. Physics has proven, time and time again, lighter faster projectiles dump their energy faster into the target and destroy themselves. So whatever one-off thing you say you saw, it is just a random chance. A rare lightning strike doesn't mean you STOP building towers or climbing trees.
@@xxxlonewolf49 well since I was holding the fucking gun, and pulled the fucking trigger. I'm gonna go ahead and suggest you go get some ss109 and ANY 9mm of your choosing and prepare to be amazed by reality my friend. Those guys are shooting 855 out of those guns. Its an illusion.
@@kennethbranson4711 when you have to use a specific round to get a result, then it's clearly not a trait of the firearm. Proper self defense 5.56 ammo does not have much penetration through intermediate barriers. Gold Dot will only penetrate 3 to 4 inches of gel after passing through a common interior wall. 9mm JHP will usually penetrate farther in gel after passing through an interior wall than it would if it had only hit flesh
Living in Chicago, many of the semiauto rifles and carbines are restricted so I’m looking to make my pump action shotgun my primary home defense. If I were to add a rifle/carbine I would choose the Ruger PC.
Mossberg 590 or Remington 870 for first shotgun?
590
2nd that. Remington in the early days was awesome. They have issues now. 590 and 500 are go-to bang sticks
Can't go wrong with either.
But I like the safety and action release button spots more on the Mossbergs.
Good info and excellent video.
It's gotta good spread
Bro where u getting 00buck ammo for 5 bucks!!!???
GT Distributors and other online sources consistently have good low recoil 00 buck at those prices. Search and he will find.
Love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Racking your shotgun will scare off the badguy is pure made up fudd lore.
Bullshit. Been there, done that.
Safety issues as well
Nobody even says that since the 90s, it's dumb UA-camrs who always bring it up that's why that saying stays alive sheesh, anytime somebody does a shotgun video they feel the need to bring that stupid saying up, now I believe in certain cases yes that has happened in life where people have pumped it and people have ran, but to keep bringing that up is annoying, there's videos where the homeowners just get out of the bed and the people who's in their house run because they heard some noise
@@aboutmyfathersbusiness6907 Stupid politicians say it all the time. To say "only youtubers" is pretty ignorant.
@@xxxlonewolf49ignorant??? Am I on UA-cam or am I at a politician meeting? Why would I bring politicians when this video is not on a politician saying "will you know if you pump it it won't scare anybody" sounds like you're the one who has a problem. Guess what politicians aren't the only one who says that either, sheesh 🙄🙄
@@aboutmyfathersbusiness6907 can you READ? GO RE READ MY FIRST COMMENT THEN GO WATCH THE VIDEO AGAIN
Interesting. In our agency of about 1,800 officers we have less than 10 shotguns on the street. Many officers are even refusing to carry an AR.
Refusing to carry a rifle?!?! They just want to carry a pistol and that’s it?? 😳
@@EV0L13 yup, scary...
When i saw it on John Wick i was like "oh shit that's a KSG, that guys knows his shit !!"
And then there's Clint Smith 😎
semi auto shotty is the best home defense weapon imo
More prone to malfunction than a pump
No thanks
Slugs over penetrate. Frangible rifle rounds in 5.56 are good for that concern. Quality semi-auto shotguns are just as reliable as pump imo. So some over generalities but more depth would make for a much longer video. Good info for those unfamiliar with shotgun capabilities.
No love for lever actions?
Everybody should own a shotgun. Even a double barrel will do. A pump gun would be better.
ARs are still easier to use, especially for women & 'smaller' stature people who might be scared of a shotgun.
You did a good job with the myth of racking, then you said this, I own many of both, shotguns are way easier for someone in home defense, not everyone in the family plays COD
The fact that they are scared of shotguns means they are better
@abramlittle7102 you are not so bright I see....as we WANT women to know how to safely use guns, not be scared of the noise & recoil.
@@xxxlonewolf49 that noise n recoil is powah!
