Weird OTIS Traction Elevators - 19 S La Salle St - Chicago, IL

[Recorded December 2023] These are old OTIS elevators that got modded with PTL fixtures and then slightly modded by ThyssenKrupp. The first car I rode in this video had a female voice and was very slow. The second car was much faster and had a male voice. I don't like either voice...they sounds kinda creepy to me, especially the male voice. These have the Adams hatch latch monitor beep and it's funny because the one on each of the cars beeps one after the other. You can hear how far away the other cars are based on how loud the beeps are lol.

Okay, whoever set these up is genius! Those 2 voices are IDENTICAL to the "red zone/white zone" bit at the beginning of the movie Airplane! This has to be on purpose. Someone has an awesome sense of humor!

I been on those elevators before. These elevators are very claustrophobic. I had go to my divorce attorney in this building

These are cool! No idea how/why they installed two different voices. The first one I’ve definitely heard before, only on UA-cam though. The second one I’ve heard at a hotel in Atlantic City NJ. I love how it says everything with an “obviously” kind of attitude lol. Next time I’m there, I’ll have to get a nudge mode clip of it to see what it would say.
