- This video will serve as the second of three for my birthday weekend series. This will be at the Willis (or Sears) Tower, where I revisit the Skydeck. As you’ll notice, more exhibits have been added or updated. As for the elevators, those are in the process of getting modernized by Otis and it appears those might’ve gotten their speed increased since the door was able to open before the presentation finishes.

Awesome OTIS elevators, the information is cool! Fast too! It’s a long walk just to get to the elevator 😂

I rode these in November and last March.
These must be slightly faster than the older ones because the doors open before the video ends.
I rode the former elevator in 2010.
What speed did the certificate say?
1900 FPM, or 1600 FPM if the certificate didn’t get swapped yet
@@norcalelevators 1900 FPM

Looks like these elevators travel at 2000 FPM now. That trip up to the skydeck didn't even take a whole minute did it?

Finally they modded these! They need to update the presentation though.

How fast is this elevator
My guess is 1800 FPM since the elevator doors opened before the presentation was able to finish.
