For caulking, I really recommend Cramer silicone profiling kits. I got kit number 7 for the cutting tool, which is brilliant. It makes caulking so easy and smooth. Wish I'd bought the kit decades ago.

You found an inexpensive door and turned it into a lovely source of pride. Not sure if you saw it during editing but the exterior area under the threshold needs sealing to keep air and bugs out. Knowing the thorough quality work you do I'm betting it's already sealed. You two are due for a beer tasting excursion. 👍👍👍
We like the deep blue color. The project is coming out fantastic. Tip for refinishing old doors: Sometimes, it doesn't take any longer to remove all the hardware, such as door knobs and locks, striker plates, and latches, than masking. However, regardless of the time it takes, it is always a better end product removing and reinstalling vs. masking. Especially if changing colors or finishes. It is always the painters' choice in what works best for your situations. Thanks

Hello - I was just getting caught up on your past videos and noticed the flashing on the peaks for the roof was installed incorrectly. Please see "We Finished the Roof..." video at the 24:42 mark. That flashing MUST go under the clay tiles, otherwise the water from the roof will go under the flashing and stay in contact with the wood and will not run off, which will cause the wood to rot. When waterproofing anything always start from the bottom and work towards the top, this way the water will always run off and not collect. Sorry to have to tell you this, but you will run into BIG problems later on if you do not correct it now. I know Illia really loves working on the roof ;-)
