It would take more energy to push from the wall with fins!

Hiya, it's not a rule, just personal preference. I'm actually trying to learn how to do a push turn in a monofin. It's challenging!

You have the basic technique down, though the monofin is less forgiving in turns than bifins. And you will need to perfect your longitudinal rotation to learn it.
