Project Pony Ep:17 Ignition Cylinder Replacement (1998 Mustang GT)

My favorite part of owning a project car is finding more stuff that needs to be replaced while working on something else. I recently found out that I can drive my car without leaving the key in the ignition.

Thanks to you I was able to remove the lock cylinder so that I can replace the PATS transceiver so that I can get the theft light out and hopefully start my car.

I had a mechanic change my steering wheel and clock spring my car back with the there light on. I took it to ford to try to reprogram the key and they said could do it

My 94 does not have a chip in the key.

I think its 96 and up that do

Damn I’m nervous now about doing this job myself. I got a 96 and the chime never turns off when the door is open and sometimes my car won’t crank at all. And by the looks of it the previous owner at some point replaced the key because it’s not the original ford key. Will I need another new key if I tackle this project myself
