47 year old male. I've dicked around with different diets and high protein, even full on carnivore, was the best for my body type. I found myself eating less, feeling far more energetic, better lifts in the gym and my body was clearly showing the muscle tone at a greater level. Again, this was for me and others who want to give this a try but I think you will see the results you need to during this diet change. Give it 1-2 months and you will see the difference.

Each to their own, but agreed from me. I pretty much cut out all grains, and within just a week I am feeling so much better. Went for a run, and just felt lighter.
Not going carnivore, still eat fruit, and a small amount of potato, the focus is on animal protein and fats. Literally the only change is no grains (and it wasn’t much before).

I'm a 37 f and did a month stint of a variation of carnivore. I did all animal products with no plant ingredients if I could (occasional processed meats for on the go like Vienna sausages) I still did carbs from dairy like cheese, small amounts of milk diluted with water, and yogurt. I saw improvement with most of my ibsd symptoms but not all and had fun trying new recipes. Making pulled pork sandwiches with cheddar and home made carnivore bread was fun

I’ve noticed as I have gotten older, 73, that the evidence of protein needs can be seen in the facial hair growth, beard. Probably increased fat is also important, but not omega-6 linoleic acid. Maybe a good case for increased saturated fat. Great post!

The best types of fat for your testicles is going to be saturated fat (though, do study each fat to maximise benefits and decrease damage to that area)
Fats that are polyunsaturated and monounsaturated tend to be the worst for the testicles, and will typically cause a reduction in testosterone production, a reduction in dihydrotestosterone, and reduced fertility, among other things like LH resistance.
There's an ideological reason behind why they hate on certain saturated fats, and push omega complex fats, and what is pushed and what is slandered by the main stream diet policy makers is by design, and not by accident.
All the hallmarks of population management policy.
Reducing primary androgens, will pacify males, feminise them and make them a lot easier to control and manipulate AND it will increase general mortality AND significantly reduce fertility.
And a male who is chemically castrated, will be less likely to protect his females, making it much easier to manipulate the females, as females rely on highly masculine males for various forms of biological protection and containment.

Protein and all related pathways eg. Mtor, that maximise its benefits are being attacked.
There is a method to this madness.
This wouldn't be the first time protein was attacked in an effort to reduce a populations intake, especially in time of war.
Combat ineffective population, androgen deficiency, easier to control etc etc.
Also look at the type of foods and fats, supplements being pushed in diet policy?
They all disrupt hormones/androgen production, fertility.
Chemically castrating males, feminises them and makes them combat ineffective and very docile, easy to control and manipulate.

By far the cheapest form of high-quality meat I've seen is the 1/3-pound 100% grass-fed beef patties at Costco. Sprouts used to be about the same (in ~2.5 pound portions), but their prices went up, I think when they changed when and where they grind it (before the coof.) I do wish my Costco would sell it in blocks as they used to, but they don't anymore, and I've gotten kinda used to cooking 1/3 pound patties sous vide from frozen anyway, which is probably the most convenient and sanitary.

@@thomasreynolds1530 I like spinach…but I’ve read too many studies where I just don’t trust the source. Veggies are grown in God knows what type of junk soil in China, South America or Mexico and passed off as organic here by big box. Another reason why I limit or am picky with chicken and other foods. I love local farmers markets where I know the farm or the source…then I’ll occasionally buy different foods. The one negative for me when I was on strictly carnivore was the lack of variety and also the necessity to “pre-eat” before I met clients out. I’m in Columbus but traveling between PA, NC, and Florida so when I traveling I have to stick to staples and sources that I know.

@@Flowmada I hear you. My son is a young adult now but was/is on the spectrum had eating/sensory issues…my daughter no issues but traveling for sports or working around custody times(divorce) it was very difficult to stick to my plan…and feed them properly. I loved cooking out and they were good with the chicken, steak, or seafood I made and would eat bell peppers so I cooked that nonstop. Kids are tough…and teenagers. Lol. I would just try to work as best as you can and don’t go down the hole of excess. Confession…I had to abstain from pasta or pizzas because I would simply overindulge…and the more research I did on refined sugars, refined carbs and seed oils the more I just tossed it out. Alcohol too…I don’t imbibe near as often and when I do…even a few drinks messes with my workouts and sleep schedule.
My ex, who is an RN, ridiculed me for watching what I ate and working out like I did. All I know is I’m in pretty damn good shape and she’s still recovering from her heart attack at 51. I wish her well but somehow that was my fault too. Lol. What we eat matters. How we treat our body matters.
As far as motivation…I handle food as a refueling. I enjoy eating healthy. I like my whey protein shakes, tuna steaks, and most of what I eat. Once I recommitted to tracking and weighing what I put in my body on NutritionIX(or whatever anyone wants to use) it became like brushing my teeth. Also, sticking to 2MAD works for me. I enjoy working out fasted in the am and then refuel…then eat again at dinner. My macros are always 45%-55% protein and that helps keep me satiated. If I feel hungry I drink more water…and it usually happens if I’m out or in someone’s office and there is food brought in or being offered…I just say I already ate and drink water. That’s what I did as far as motivation. Do the best you can but remember your kids are always first but try to keep your goals because we aren’t any good for them if we’re not around. Best of success.

The US RDA is 50 grams of protein per 2000 calories. So 200:2000 or 10% of calories are protein. Most Studies show this is half of what you need for health vs survival.
So eating 100 grams is probably best. This is a pound of meat +/-.

The only reason why I don't eat meat is because I love animals 2much not because I think how it's unhealthy. What about all the animals not allowed to exist, due to the mono culture farming, or the forests destroyed in order to plant more corn to make corn syrup. Or the herbicides, agriculture run off that poison or kills whole ecosystems of insects effectively starving all the animals dependent on them. Guess those animals don't count because you don't actively kill them, you just eat the proceeds of their destruction, while the mono-croping slowly kills the lands for future generations as the fertilizer used is artificial and can never be replaced just like oil. Or perhaps the massive infrastructure used in order to harvest all the plants that run on fossil fuels, further polluting the planet, killing more animals. Don't forget that almost half of all crops grown end up in the garbage uneaten, slowly releasing gas, rather then being turned into bio solids.
I'd rather have regenerative farming with happy animals that get a life but still provide a natural balance to the world. Raise free range grass fed beef, chickens, pigs, etc. Use the fertilizer from the animals to grow crops. It's not rocket science to say no to big agriculture that pushes for veganism to push for more profits while putting small family owned farmers out of business. I suggest finding ethical local farmers and buy from them.
I'm glad you eating healthy, stay strong, the system as it is, is not going to help you when you get old.

High protein keeps calories lower overall and means less processed food is consumed, that's all. You don't miraculously grow muscle by eating more protein. Calories in general prevent muscle breakdown, not just protein.

Thomas is making his own recommendations, completely disconnected fro the studies he refer to. People eat it raw :-)))

One thing that won't happen-you won't destroy your kidneys unless you already have CKD. • @MrQuadcity
    @MrQuadcity 28 днів тому +7

Here are the key takeaways from Thomas DeLauer’s experience and discussion on doubling protein intake:
    1. **Increased Muscle Mass**: Increasing protein intake can lead to significant gains in muscle mass due to enhanced muscle protein synthesis, though the increase in muscle won't be directly proportional (i.e., double the protein doesn't mean double the muscle).
    2. **Benefits Regardless of Muscle Mass Levels**: Studies suggest that both individuals with high and low levels of muscle mass experience enhanced muscle building when increasing protein intake post-workout.
    3. **Limits to Protein Absorption**: The body has limits on how much protein can be effectively absorbed at one time, particularly with fast-digesting proteins like whey. Optimal absorption is seen with around 20 grams of protein per sitting, with diminishing returns beyond this amount.
    4. **Slow vs. Fast Digesting Proteins**: Different proteins digest at different rates. While whey protein is absorbed quickly and is effective in smaller doses post-workout, slower-digesting proteins like casein can be consumed in larger amounts and provide a more sustained protein synthesis throughout the day.
    5. **Improved Sleep Quality**: Higher protein intake has been linked to better sleep quality. The mechanisms might involve certain neuropeptides in the brain that reduce arousal during sleep, thereby improving sleep depth and quality.
    6. **Enhanced Recovery**: Adequate protein consumption not only aids in muscle repair but also lowers muscle protein breakdown rates post-exercise, enhancing overall recovery and performance readiness.
    7. **Effective Weight Management**: High-protein diets can help preserve muscle mass during weight loss, ensuring that more of the weight lost is fat rather than muscle, making these diets effective for improving body composition.
    8. **Potential Side Effects**: Increased protein can lead to side effects such as bad breath, dehydration, and digestive issues like bloating and gas. Gradual increases in intake and adequate hydration can help mitigate these effects.
    9. **Practicality and Convenience**: For those looking to increase their protein intake without extensive meal prep, products like pre-packaged high-quality meats can offer a convenient solution.
