A lot of work in this video. Well done. I have a couple of suggestions: Try and get a miner's hat and boat lantern as soon as possible. Concentrate on putting down wood flooring in your base before monsoon. The more the better. Put a sandbag in the "center" of the puddles near your base. This will stop the puddles from spreading.
Many players don’t seem aware that the horned helmet will protect you from poisonous bites from mosquitoes, spiders, snakes, scorpions etc. granted the helmet is challenging to get because you have to kill a water buffalo to get its horn, and they are much harder to hunt in shipwrecked then in ROG. But they are great because you don’t have to drop your backpack in the water to put on a seashell suit, if you hear a mosquito during monsoon season.
Shipwrecked has to be one of my favorite DLCs to watch being played. It's familiar enough to feel like DS, but so many different things to keep it feeling new and exciting. Can't wait to see the next video!
I played original don’t starve and it’s DLC for years and your guides are super helpful There’s a few things I did not know about until watching your videos.
There aren't many solo dont starve videos on UA-cam so it was nice to see you. It's a great guide, I'm waiting for the same one in Hamlet. Some advice: Kill the crocodiles using tooth traps, if you are too lazy to do so, wait for them to move on to other creatures (buffalo, jellyfish, monkeys, spiders). By the way, if you want to find the walking cane early, use the slot machine. The probability of getting 3 gold coins is not small at all. If you can't find the gold to power the machine, wander around the forest biomes and collect the gold left by the pirate birds. If you have a treasure bag, it always leave you gold. (The walking cane also increases the ship's speed.)
17:59 I'm sorry but there is actually something very valuable about repopulating the Doydoys. So due to the fact that the species is near extinction the naughtiness you get from killing them depends on how many are in the world. 1-2 gives you 50 naughtiness, 3-4 gives 10, 5-10 gives 4 and 11-20 gives 1. Now here's the thing the game will check whatever instance of the world you are on to see how many are left in the world. So if you have a Doydoy farm, take two to the volcano and or to another DLC the game will see that as there only being 2 left in the world. If you then kill them you'll get two instant Krampus spawns which can be an easy way to farm for the Krampus sack.
pretty cool idea and also thinking about it now that means u can have 20 doydoys in all 3 dlcs and the valcano and all 3 caves which if true is kinda funny
Surprisingly a lot of new and useful information you got here. Especially Sealnado and Monsoon guides. I love Shipwrecked and played it a lot while strugling with Sealnado and Hurricane. Thank you for your great work!
I’m beginning to feel these tutorials are more of a “let’s play” then a tutorial itself however they do seem very helpful! I feel like It may work best if I play along with you in these tutorials as you go cause I have a bad memory and will forget everything
There was nothing mentioned about the guardian trees on day 10 😭😭 everything was great! But those mushrooms and the full moon just ended everything for me
I've personally found ballphins the best way to deal with crocodogs (while at sea) and sea hounds. They aggro onto hostile creatures imediately and are pretty fast. Find a pod and they'll liquify any hound waves in a flash. In my perma world I dotten one end of my island in ballphin palaces as a quick safety net. I constantly had around 20 ballphins hanging around. While they can't solo a boss they can chip it down quite a bit. I found out the hard way when I accidentally led the tiger shark to my camp. I was eating on my boat or something and she spawned but wasn't hostile, just kinda hanging around. I hadn’t seen her in a while and figured she either despawned or aggroed onto sonething else. She was apparently still around and followed me home, I didn't even notice until my ballphins went balistic and charged her. She took them out no problem but they got some good hits in so it was pretty easy to finnish her off even while at sea. I was gonna ignore her originally but I got pretty salty when she killed all my "guard dogs" even if they instigated it.

Good content dude! So refreshing to see SW guides after so much time has passed. One thing he did not mention (understandably), was the brainy matter. He sailed by it at 15:45. Other than being an insanely good sanity source (you do have to stand really close to it), it produces one of the strongest items in the Dont Starve series: the Brain of Thought, mainly OP if you're playing a SW-Hamlet-RoG world. This item basically gives you access to any and all crafting recipes accross all games, provided you have the resources to build them (main reason why I understand Polar didn't mention it, it's not as useful in standalone SW). Definitely worth a mention!
12 days in, no base spot BUT… BUT I’m alive and thriving as a nomad. Will update when I find an island I want to call home. Update: Lasted 20 Days. I died of the hounds because my island was too peaceful 😭😭 No monsters to distract 8 hounds
On my first shipwrecked run rn. Made the mistake of not making a sea or turf base for monsoon season. Currently getting absolutely fucking annihilated by some FUCKING PUDDLES!!!! Can't get fucking anything done because of the constant fucking mosquitoes harassing me. Very true to life!
Any tips for exploring the ocean so I can find areas of land quicker? I heard circling the islands you explored already can help rather then straying very far away from them
I would say pay attention to the color of the water, when it is dark (deep ocean) land is nowhere near you, medium is somewhat close and obviously light blue (shore) is close to an island, there is no ultimate method for finding islands but I find that they generally are spaced out evenly

the only gripe i have about the video is how you say unveil... a veil (un-vale-d, a vale being a rather pleasant meadow... as in "in the valley",, said in a welsh accent XD) is a shroud of fabric, like a table cloth. to unveil something is to remove the cover and reveal the object. i know you are pronouncing your best as i can tell you are clever... but for the love of god, please pronounce it un-vale-d. its a cloth, not meat XD the rest of the video is great though, so please dont take it as me being a knob.
