The guy has openly admitted that money and fame have not solved his problems as well as being seen as Hollywood’s “crazy guy” just to prove it. He wishes fame and fortune on everyone just so they can see it isn’t the answer. He knows this yet he still gives his all to every performance just so we can have a good day and be a little more entertained after seeing him than we were before. Truly… Thank you, Jim.
Don't wish fame on me. I'll take the fortune, but A. I'm antisocial, so even being around people I don't know is uncomfortable and B. Fame is what drives people insane (either from their own ego being bloated too much or from the pressure it puts on them to always act the "correct" way so they don't receive death threats for eating their cereal the wrong way.
@@Terradragoon Being uncomfortable around strangers isn't necessarily antisocial, it's actually more introverted trait. Antisocial behaviour usually includes not even just avoiding social interactions but rather entirely not caring about them at all

What a bunch of fluff he didn't complain during the Mask. He didn't complain getting 20 million plus Box office take and merchandise sale's.
I mean yeah... What is your point? Dude suffers complains, dude gets millions of dollars doesn't complain pretty normal behavior.
Oh for all those negatives comments... my point was it wasnt an easy film to make. This man, much like Robin Williams, has continued to give us all so much laughter, which we all need, while suffering their own issues. He was paid, but that doesnt negate the effort. So if thats not enough then just assume i made the comment so you could come say something rude and petty because apparently you dont appreciate laughter.
I'd say the millions of dollars he was compensated with softened the pain of wearing heavy make up for a couple weeks.
Let's not overstate the role of actors in society. They offer us a diversion from our lives and are paid handsomely for a pretty soft gig.
Victorian England had a much more appropriate view of the theatre: they loved the plays and they appreciated the acting, but you wouldn't allow or even think to have these people in your home. They were freaks. They spend their days pretending to be other people. Children do that, and we don't exhalt them for it. When adults do it, of you really think about it, it's a very strange profession, and by no means an indication that the person is of great moral probity, intellectual rigor, or social value.
I'd rather "love Thee Man that endure Torture" - to grant me a pleasant eternal life; through the Forgiveness of everything that I've ever done Wicked on Earth

Robin Williams gave the same amazing vibes. And they both do/did struggle SO much with mental health issues which breaks my heart -- they can make everyone feel better except for themselves. 😞 when Schindler's List was being filmed, the material of it was (obviously) so damn depressing that the entire crew and cast would be so down in the dumps, and when it got bad like that, they'd call Robin Williams and put him on speakerphone, and everyone would gather round it and he'd tell jokes and cheer everyone up so they could get on. not all costumes are like that, impretty sure the grinch suit was because its its super fine detail nearly connected tom him.
@@imwithyou38 the grinch costume he wore is less of a body suit and more of a second skin, because they needed to capture his facial expressions up close for the filmshoot.
They use surgical like glue for the mask so yeah it’s pretty annoying all the sweat that builds up
Yea the chick that played nebula in avengers said she went psycho
Yeah their costumes are totally different than the one used for the film.
This man is truly a gem 💎
He’s truly a 💩
Yeah, he sure used to be.
@@whatareyoulookingat908 Oh trust me, he still is very much a gem 💎
To bad because hollywood blacklisted him for no good reason.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

He didn't know that he was born to play that role. What a legend!!!
Jim is not only talented, hyper-intelligent, hilarious and compassionate ... he’s also humble. Genuine great human.
OH MY GOD 🤣🤣 I can't believe that was the experience he was having. I'm going to rewatch it with a lot more appreciation now
8 hours makeup..
The stuff they glued on his face must of really been uncomfortable especially when sweating. As a kid being a werewolf on Halloween with hair glued to my face with make up was terrible and vowed to never do it again
@@Allexstrasza damn
Ha why? Anyone would DIE to be in this position rather than him. He’s no marter. He one of the lucky out. What the hell is he talking about “it’s for the kids.” You didn’t do anything heroic. You are friggen blessed and lucky dude. If you don’t like it step off and hand your career to someone who will appreciate and not complain. You have NOTHING to complain about.
@@thelatestgreatest8082 ok bro. he’s laughing about how uncomfortable the makeup was, to the point where it felt almost like torture.
This man is a rare breed... God bless his soul
The only actor in the world who is truly one of a kind. Thanks Jim for all you’ve done
A huge shout out to Jim Carrey and an even bigger thank you for a wonderful Christmas classic 🙏🏾
“Smell the flowers while you can”
We’re only here for a season!😢
Very fitting quote 👕
He is honestly, SUCH a good actor . ❤
And he performed in it SO well!
It was actually one of those movies that has stapled deeply into my childhood! Good Memories from this time and from this movie with my best friend Amanda in one of the brightest, greatest, most creative times of my life!
So, truly, I appreciate it. I really do. NO ONE could've given that performance like him. And Now we have it recorded until the end of time for everyone to see! Even without knowing this, I praised his performance in this film.
Bravo, Jim! And Thank You Again!

I saw this in the movie theater when I was 10 years old. I am now 32. I still watch this till this day. Thank you, Jim Carey for your dedication ❤
Were you scared? I took my niece on opening weekend and about 20 minutes in she was crying and saying she was scared and wanted to leave. She never reacted that way to a movie, or TV show before.
@@Khaleesi_Of_Kittensdoes it sound like she was scared
I have watched _several_ of his films repeatedly. He is one of the most hilarious people ever! And he's smart, too!
@@Khaleesi_Of_Kittens funny thing is I wasn’t scared, at least I don’t remember being scared and I’m easily scared by things. Lol I watched it today and some of Jim Carey’s faces in that costume were down right horrifying, lmboo I don’t know how I made it through that back then, but it’s one of my favorite holiday movies
good memories
Knowing how much of an ordeal it was to shoot the movie makes me even more grateful that I got to grow up with that movie.
He's such an amazing person! I hope he will continue living a long and amazing life
I have never ever gotten tired of watching this movie since I was a child 😭👏🏼💕 now I appreciate this even MORE 💕
Despite the torture he went through, The Grinch ended up being my favorite Christmas movie. Every year I watch it. I loved his performance, a classic!
He must have been paid a ton of money.
I got it too. Follows the cartoon every holiday. The original is the song guy as the movie going..narrator.
It IS a great movie!
@haranpillay4015, like someone else commented, he wasn't really interested in the money after a while. He wanted family and friends, and the feeling of those significant others love and connectedness 😏❤️❤️❤️
It's one of the greatest Christmas movies ever
Now it’s a classic like it’s one of thE Christmas movies you just have to watch phenomenal work
His Grinch is the BEST VERSION, better than the Classic cartoon even, so I'd say it was worth it. His version can be enjoyed for centuries to come.
He was brilliant in that role. Should have won an Academy Award for his performance.
“It’s for the kids”…and now we can say it is one of the must watch Christmas movies
I hope he understands how much joy he has brought kids every Christmas ❤️
I don't know about that... for me it was a horror film growing up, lol ; D
LoL, to ALL of us kids young AND wrinkly n silver!!😄
Every visit to epstein island they were full of joy

Nah, he's actually a disgusting human being in real life. Children shouldn't idolize actors. Most of them aren't worthy of mopping floors.
"Its for the kids,it for the kids, its for the kids" had me smile in joy 😁

Cannot think of a better Christmas movie, and also I find it a superb one for any season.
He gave us one of the best Christmas movies ever 💚
Yes he did ❤
Absolutely. I'm 30 and still watch it every Christmas with my family
Gross. The original technicolor one is hands down the BEST!!!! Boris Karloff CANNOT bd beat

You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out!!
Icant believe this man doesn't have an Oscar 😢❤
I agree. He really should have at the very least received a Best Actor nomination for his role as The Grinch.
There is no other actor that could have pulled that part off he did the most difficult character ever
I think Johnny Depp could.
Sad part is, you actually believe that.

Never thought about the process that way before. But Jim bringing it up has definitely made me think of the sacrifice an actor would go thru for that. So once again thank you.
He got paid millions, I think that helped…
He’s known for his funny movies and being a comedian but he’s a very deep person and very intellectual at the same time. Off the screen, he’s such a different person but in an extremely positive way. I respect him very much!
Only man on earth that could play that role to that caliber!!! GOAT 🐐
Apparently Jim Carrey was not the only one who found the whole makeup process torturous.
There is a Indiewire article from 2018 titled "‘The Grinch’ Makeup Artist Checked Into Therapy After Working With Jim Carrey"
Wow-thanks for sharing! Fascinating read that goes to show there really are multiple sides to every story. ☀️
I'm betting the stress of the makeup caused Carrey's behavior. Perhaps the arrival of the CIA trainer coincided with Carrey's "change" and his asking the makeup artist to return.
I'm not trying to make excuses, but few people have ever accused the man of being cruel on set so I'm not saying it didn't happen. I'm saying there could have been a cause for the behavior and the change that Carrey describes here could be what ultimately allowed the makeup artist to return. At least I hope so.
Unfortunately, he's become a washed out, drugged up uber-liberal cartoonist.
Basically a caricature of himself.
I read the article. Yes Carrey needs to carry the majority of the blame but the makeup artist also realized his limitations within himself. Being an introvert and working with an extreme extrovert like Carrey would put anyone out of commission. I'm introverted and I spent years underwater on submarines. Ot took its toll on me after 10 years because I was constantly bombarded by people. I didnt just end up in therapy, I was institutionalized for a bit. Stresses of being on a submarine working on nuclear weapons and their associated fire control and launching subsystems ran me almost in to the grave.

Funny how he breezed over the “CIA trainer” so easily. Considering that the CIA have an office in Hollywood.
They way he said it shows it's not his first encounter with the CIA
Have you seen any of the interviews with him where he leaks information about a secret group here and there.
