***** You are right the track performance between the 1LE SS and the M4 is remarkably close. The C&D lighting lap had the M4 only 1/2 second quicker around their 3 minute track which shows just how impressive the Camaro is considering it has 300 pounds on the M4.

Nick Murray I like this car but the thing is this Camaro is specifically reworked to be a track car while M4 can be used as a comfortable and luxurious daily and also be driven on track. The Camaro has much more rubber, 285/35 all around, compared to M4 that has 255/40 front and 275/40 rear. All muscle cars that turn to track cars have these kind of very wide and very sticky tires to make them turn and stop good. Just look at Z/28 or even the new Z06. So you can turn a heavy muscle car to a fast track car with the right parts. But there is always a trade off. I'm sure if BMW wanted M4 to be a track car only, they would build it a bit differently and it would be much faster than this Camaro.
gas mileage is not in the single digits. My 1LE gets 19 city and 22 hwy. Quad tips denote an NPP exhaust which deserve an explanation that should provide.

I know this is an old video , BUT , it shows how little homework you did in getting familiarized with this exceptional car. And you also criticized just about everything about it. Everyone bitches about the interior but I don't mind it it has a touch screen and Pop up speedometer so you don't have to look down when you shift its badass
Thanks for the review Nick. Very interesting to hear the comparisons with the M4. A comparison that you don't see to often. Would have loved to hear how their stats matched up. Price, Hp, Torque, 0-60, Top speed, braking distance etc. Still great stuff. Thanks again.
I am not an easy person to please, but I must admit that your reviewing skills are improving. As an observation and not criticism, the last time I saw that much hand gesturing I was sitting in a cafe in Little Italy. Drive on Nick
1:40 Sorry Nick, the SS 1LE is not 80-90% of the performance of an M4. It's actually the opposite, the Camaro is consistently faster in a straight line and in lap times. Don't even get me started on the noise difference.
Hi Nick! Nice review. In regards to pushrod V8s, they have one in the new stingray, albeit a little different than the old one in the Camaro. The LT1 is an aluminum block, direct injected pushrod, with active cylinder management. It gets you 30 mpg highway, cruising in 7th gear. I own a c7 and that's real life mpg after 11,000 miles. City is certainly less, but still admirable for 460hp. Cheers :-)
American Muscle! :-) Not particulary the kind of car I'd fancy to have here in Switzerland, but there's no denying the fact that these cars sound absolutely fantastic! I'd go for the Challenger Hellcat though... More room in the back and I think I just bonded with that car when we did a 2500 mile roadtrip through 4 states in a Challenger 392 SRT8, in 2013. I loved driving that car, eventhough the interior looked and felt 30 years old. Pretty nice manual transmission too, which I didn't expect from an American car. Would love to see you review a Hellcat and burn some rubber! :-)
Nick, loved the review, like always! But I didn't understand your mpg comments. I owned a Saleen S281 (Supercharged V8) for 3 months, and I always averaged 19 or 20 mpg in the city when I filled it up. Saleen's estimate was 14. With my own experience, I have found that nowadays the estimates seem to be pretty lower than the actual numbers I get. I am sure one could achieve over 20 mpg city in a Camaro. Especially the Camaro, with its 2v per cylinder configuration.
Arthur Sperotto I wonder if that supercharger was tuned to run the engine nice and lean. Turbo and supercharged engines often produce far better economy. For this Camaro the best I got driving it in a mild manner at about 60 MPH was about 14-15 MPG, around town it was about 11. If I pushed it, it was single digits which is common for lager 2 value engines like this. 2 value = poor fuel econ not the other way around.
Nick Murray I doubt it was tuned for economy. Especially when I got higher in the RPM range, the ECU dumped fuel in the cylinders, making it extremely rich to cool the heads. (rich mix burns cooler). That's weird... My Saleen was a 2002, it had the 4.6 V8 OHC 2 valve from the New Edge body, so it was a 2 valve as well.
Arthur Sperotto well it is a much smaller engine and lighter body also with the benefit of a SC, I guess it is possible to get reasonable MPG if driven carefully.
Handsome B Wonderful Yup. I know, I just don't wanna argue with Nick, since I am a fan. But I know LS engines get extraordinaire fuel economy. You should've directed that comment to Nick, not me :-)
I recently took advantage of those deep discounts and ran off one of the last 1le packaged ones. Mine is yellow. I have a few things I don't like, but certainly is a roadtrip/rally replacement for my 225k miles 04 Gto. (Which I kept).
It's a great car and I'm enjoying mine! I think it's the right decision for Chevrolet to spend money on the performance aspects of this car, rather than on deep, rich leather padding on the doors??? It's a good trade off in my opinion. You did not present many facts about the extent of the 2SS or 1LE package which include aspects of the suspension, brakes and engine. You seem a little burned out doing the review.........
That has to be one of the highest trunk sills ever. You basically have to do upright row exercises when you want to put something heavy in there... Oh, and when you make a mistake like 400 instead of 4000, you could just do a voice-over with the correct number for a funny moment. Also, it's spelled Saturn V, not 5. Keep up the good work!
Phil C Hey Phil good to see you over the weekend, I was just hunting around for your email, found it. Yes lets do the same with he Mustang I think everyone will be interested.
Nick does this car feel more like a driver's car compared to your M4? Better steering feel, more feel through your butt, sharper handling? I saw through MT videos that this car actually pulls more G's than the M4, probably due to those massive sticky tires.
Great review nick I just bought one of these it's on factory order can't wait, cool gimble for the gopro where you get it from and how much love your M4 also great machine 👍😊
I just picked up my'15 SS 1le on a trade with 24k miles. I am loving this car...handles like a charm, and plenty HP! Recaro seats n NPP exhausts were added to this package...seats are awesome n sounds bad ass!! Love my SS 1le!!!
Nick, I have heard that the rear view from inside the car is incredibly bad. Any thoughts on blind spots/changing lanes/etc. while driving the car based on the small rear window?!
Nick Murray Ok! We get Holden in the UK under the Vauxhall badge but not many. About 18 mpg average, that's fantastic, who gives a f*** about economy and emissions anyway! 😀
I rented a 2015 Camaro V6 Convertible and it only had like 100 miles on it, and already the plastic piece by the shifter was coming off and I had to pop it back into place, it was terrible
I can't listen to this blasphemy. When someone starts whining about the interior maybe you should go get a luxury car. I got to the point where he's complaining about fuel mileage. I have a ZL1 and get 15 and 21... that's including the parasitic load. Keep driving your fancy, boring, automatic BMW. That m4 would have a tough time staving off this car at 3800 lb By the way this car spanks the 2015 Mustang GT PP ua-cam.com/video/rTJPDurLEKw/v-deo.html
S Miller Maybe the GLA45 at some point. I have decided to turn down reviewing the GTR. After driving another one about a month back I just don't have any good things to say about it aside from the performance. I don't think anyone wants to see a negative review, besides I would end up with a thousand GTR fan boys hating on me because I dared to speak the against their God : )
Nick Murray as a young dreamer i am looking to start with an r8 or a GTR. I really know that you are totally real saying your opinion so it would be CRAZY helpful hearing reasons 2 avoid gtrs. I understand your fear but is it possible 4 u to maybe answer in the comment section with a few points that could help out? If not im allright with that! KEEP it up this channel will grow crazier than weed in colorado
AdoIf88HitIer There isn't anything wrong with them, they just are much better on a track than on the road, and they have been around for a while so they are getting a bit stale in places aesthetically speaking - if you are a performance enthusiast who isn't too concerned about luxury and a cushy ride & likes to go to track days, then you'll love it. More of a young persons car I guess.
AdoIf88HitIer Based on your original post I thought you were seeking informed opinion - now I see you a just a troll. With your attitude you'll never own one anyway, so keep dreaming.
You need to review the 2016 Camaro! The interior is VASTLY improved over this 2015. I still like the look of this gen but if I went for one it would have to be the 1LE as it gives it a presence that can only be compared to the ZL1 or the Z28. ;-)
The gorillas Albert and William. So ridicules. Yet so absolutely brilliant. Lol! I laugh ever time. I love it. As always another fantastic review. If you ever find yourself in western Wisconsin or the Twin Cities you're more then welcome to come check out my brand new GTI (aka: Gus The Incorrigible). Picked him up last Wednesday. I'll even offer up some of that famous Wisconsin beer, cheese and Midwest hospitality. Take care.
Michael Klein how can one know the full option? i'm trying to buy one but i'm confused to know the features and best one to buy. i want to buy 2014 model
@6:00 quite funny when talking about heavy cars weighing 1700-1800 kg's.... when we today got those fkin heavy boring EV SUV's which weighs in @ around 2400-2600 kg!!!!! Even the new sportscar, Audi E-tron GT weighs 2300 kg!!! Totally crazy if you ask me
Albus Dumbledore For the outside I think people want to see the engine running and maybe hear the idle. For the inside it is so everything is working as it would for normal driving and to stop the warning beeps.
Joel C Oh hey, kind sir - you seem like a perfect example of an ignorant American. I have never been rude in any way but you seem like you had a bad day in primary school. Have fun finishing your cheeseburger and thanks a lot for your input! Have a great day.
That front windscreen looks ridiculous. It's like you're trying to look through a peephole. The only thing worse is the visibility out the back. Embarrassingly bad.
Great video as always. But is it OK to be bummed about the Camaro purely because of nostalgia? When I was in high school in the early 1980's, my best friend bought a 1969 Z28 that needed to be restored mechanically. It was in pretty damn good cosmetic shape inside and out. I think he paid like 4K for it.. But that's another story, eh? I helped with some of that, learned a lot and drove it many, many times over the years. I've driven a couple of these "new" Camaro's and man, what a disappointment. They feel dull and heavy and it's impossible to see well out of them. I was bored to death. Probably my issue.. :) But the interior is crap considering the decade.
Watching this makes me wanna cry. $38K for a bran new Camaro SS!!! For the same price where i live (Norway) you get a KIA. A base model,a real shi**y one for $38K. My Tesla i bought new in 2013,that was aprox. $150K My most recent purchase (a gift to myself that i really can`t afford),a 2nd hand 2006 Porsche 997 gen.1 Carrera (not S) i paid just north of $100K..... I think i`ll apply for "automotive asylum" in the US
That is shocking to me that the 1le gets the same if not worse mileage than the Z/28.....still someone who buys this most likely can afford the gas lol
Stackin Benjis I am aware of that, but it's still a comparison to a truck. The one truck we have in our fleet is about twice as heavy, has the 6.4L gas motor, a 4.10 final drive, and it's gets about the same mileage in mixed driving. But I guess I can't expect anyone to get EPA ratings though. If you're in a car like this, you're going to be pushing it, especially for a car review.
The Camaro SS 1LE is faster than the M4 where it matters. I'd absolutely choose the camaro over the BMW.
***** You are right the track performance between the 1LE SS and the M4 is remarkably close. The C&D lighting lap had the M4 only 1/2 second quicker around their 3 minute track which shows just how impressive the Camaro is considering it has 300 pounds on the M4.

Jared Rosenholtz I will be reviewing one soon but no plans to buy one. Not really the daily driver I am looking for.
Nick Murray too uncomfortable for you? I guess no seats in the back for the dogs.
Jared Rosenholtz You got it!
Nice Camaro!
You are a legend. Soooo funny! Great vid but I personally prefer your M4! :D
That m4 would have a tough time staving off this car at 3800 lb
By the way this car spanks the 2015 Mustang GT PP

hey nick, are you interested in motorcycles? love to see some of motorcycle reviews
wallykung I am but I have not really got the time to review motorcycles as well. Maybe at some point I will slip one in : )
Random question I know, but what setting on your gopros did you use?
Could you review a Subaru Brz or Scion FR-S?
Great review Nick. Wish they would build a DCT for the 1LE
Great review. Anyways, the styling just doesn't sit well with me.
I want one the SS, the ZL1, or the Z28 I don't get a damn about the mpg I will look cool at the gas station..... or getting pulled over for speeding.
I'll have the M4 thanks.
lol
You planning on a Mercedes GLA45 or Nissan GTR review anytime soon?
S Miller Maybe the GLA45 at some point. I have decided to turn down reviewing the GTR. After driving another one about a month back I just don't have any good things to say about it aside from the performance. I don't think anyone wants to see a negative review, besides I would end up with a thousand GTR fan boys hating on me because I dared to speak the against their God : )
Good decision with the GTR thinking about it your right to be wary of the fan boys ;)
I want one the SS, the ZL1, or the Z28 I don't care about the mpg I will look cool at the gas station..... or getting pulled over for speeding.
What is he working with?
You need to review the 2016 Camaro! The interior is VASTLY improved over this 2015. I still like the look of this gen but if I went for one it would have to be the 1LE as it gives it a presence that can only be compared to the ZL1 or the Z28. ;-)
+victor bozzo I know can not wait to drive one, they look like a big step forward
Where in New York was this?
The gorillas Albert and William. So ridicules. Yet so absolutely brilliant. Lol! I laugh ever time. I love it. As always another fantastic review. If you ever find yourself in western Wisconsin or the Twin Cities you're more then welcome to come check out my brand new GTI (aka: Gus The Incorrigible). Picked him up last Wednesday. I'll even offer up some of that famous Wisconsin beer, cheese and Midwest hospitality. Take care.
Ben Kurth Thanks Ben, almost worth the drive out! All the best with Gus : )
Good review but please shut the doors with the doors and not the windows
Camaros have a Sun Roof option? I WAS NOT AWARE.
Mejevoli Yeah, it comes with the Navi
Michael Klein how can one know the full option? i'm trying to buy one but i'm confused to know the features and best one to buy. i want to buy 2014 model
Just go online and look at them
Mejevoli hopefully the 2016 will have this option too but when i see those bulge on the top i doubt that :-(
+kubanskiloewe it has the option aswell
The MPG is because the car is too heavy. Corvettes get 17 city, 29 hwy.
Totally crazy if you ask me
Nick on an American Muscle car? :o
So that means a Z28 2014/5 gets 0 mpg?
"Large-Boned" people very diplomatic :D
I get 26mpg on the interstate with mine
lol u are so funny nick
ive gotten 27-30 highway :P flat level out of el paso.... given i was driving 70mph steadily
no way bro...i've heard 25mpg with shorty headers....which is actually really good for such an engine...30 mpg? No way...i'll give u 25
Do an rs5
Yeah my 1LE get 24-26 on the highway. He doesn't know what he's talking about
How tall are you?
May I ask why you always keep cars running while reviewing the outside/sitting inside talking?
Albus Dumbledore For the outside I think people want to see the engine running and maybe hear the idle. For the inside it is so everything is working as it would for normal driving and to stop the warning beeps.
Nick Murray For the cars I know, everything works just fine in the inside without any beeping. I think it's just a waste of fuel.
Joel C Oh hey, kind sir - you seem like a perfect example of an ignorant American. I have never been rude in any way but you seem like you had a bad day in primary school. Have fun finishing your cheeseburger and thanks a lot for your input!
Have a great day.
Joel C You're as cute as an internet melt gets. What's wrong with saving gas? I don't understand your infantile hate.
Your on the wrong video for saving gas mate, its a fuckin' camaro!!! ahaha
That front windscreen looks ridiculous. It's like you're trying to look through a peephole. The only thing worse is the visibility out the back. Embarrassingly bad.
also looks like the same interior as a Chevy Malibu
But the interior is crap considering the decade.
Those seats are god awful. Recaros are a must.
This Camaro can keep up with an m4
Watching this makes me wanna cry. $38K for a bran new Camaro SS!!! For the same price where i live (Norway) you get a KIA. A base model,a real shi**y one for $38K. My Tesla i bought new in 2013,that was aprox. $150K My most recent purchase (a gift to myself that i really can`t afford),a 2nd hand 2006 Porsche 997 gen.1 Carrera (not S) i paid just north of $100K..... I think i`ll apply for "automotive asylum" in the US
EVILSPAWN1003 On the flip side you have access to Lutefisk and Glogg so you know; swings and round-a-bouts : )
Nothing like some nice Lutefisk. I threw up in my mouth just hearing about it.
Nick Murray Lol you`re twisting the knife now haha
But i guess i shouldn`t complain. All things considered it`s a good place to live :)
what part of the country is that accent from ?
must be North Carolina or someshit
+Kev Jumbo lol, but just in case you weren't joking, sounds Australian.
That is shocking to me that the 1le gets the same if not worse mileage than the Z/28.....still someone who buys this most likely can afford the gas lol
It doesn't have a hood prop...
Ouch, mileage can't be that bad. Seriously, that's worse than my truck.
Well this has more power and torque i'm guessing?
Mejevoli
Than my truck? Yes, but not by much, the truck is also 2,000 pounds heavier, and it also has the aerodynamics of a house.
Stackin Benjis
I am aware of that, but it's still a comparison to a truck. The one truck we have in our fleet is about twice as heavy, has the 6.4L gas motor, a 4.10 final drive, and it's gets about the same mileage in mixed driving. But I guess I can't expect anyone to get EPA ratings though. If you're in a car like this, you're going to be pushing it, especially for a car review.
bullshit, the car can easily do 24mpg
Handsome B Wonderful your review is already bullshit once you start in with the fuel mileage and the push rod being the reason. get a fucking clue
Handsome B Wonderful yes driving one from montreal to quebec on the highway at 120 kmh i get 21 mpg or 11.2 litres
I much prefer the Mustang as an overall package. This Camaro just seems crude and crispy in comparison.
Это мечта. Мне очень нравится. Но к сожалению в Украине Camaro SS 1LE будет стоить 73 тысячи $. Это очень дорого.
Wow that interior is horrible looking. For a car this price I'd expect soft touch and less cheap bulky plastic.
ha v8 version of the ss.. well they didn't make a v6 ss. 😏
Should we be scared that this guys talks to stuffed gorillas like they're real
