Yup, it does look a lot like an alpine cave. I bit more mud, of course. If bats are in Thunder Hall, and you had to dig up to it, I'd think there's an upper approach. Might even be a surface entrance for them. Check the room again during heavy rain. Or have fun climbing! ;)

Cool channel. There’s also a cave system in Golf Road in Dalton, MA. They’re boulder caves but the deepest and longest I’ve encountered. You can enter, cross under the road and pop out about 30 yards away.

As a career earth scientist / geologist I have realized that New England demonstrates the most complex and interesting paleontological and geological record in the entire world.

I don't care, but I'm from the Pioneer Valley and if there's a big fuck off hole out here in actual western mass, I'd like to know at least what town it's in because I spend a lot of time in the woods.
They are deliberating not letting anyone know the location. If the Communistwealth of Massatooshits knew the location, there would be a big steal grate over it, so no one would ever be able to explore it ever again!!

Bob dion is a legend in our area, we live in the same town and ironically made several cave discoveries in our town.
Those are the most capable spelunkers I have ever seen.
