I live in Central Florida, fishing in grass can be a challenge, but that's we're the big bass live. My son and I catch 3 to 5 pounders a lot, with the right gear.
I'm in Missouri and if you want to catch anything over 1lb you better find some grass, mats, or pads. If all that is dead find timber or go home and wait until fall.
I try to watch all your videos. All I do got a question. What do you guys do when you have to go to the bathroom 2 in a tournament? And you got people in your boat. How do you solve that issue? Do you stop what you're doing and go to shore or find some woods? For me, this would be an issue because when I have to go I have to go now. No time to wait.
I have been fishing a 7'6" heavy extra fast with 50 pound braid in heavy cover for years. Both for frogging and for punching. I just dont like the spunchy feeling you get with fc or with a moderate action. In heavy cover it will just become catshit like we say here in Sweden. And thats when i fish for perch. We dont have bass here i Sweden. But when we fish for perch we often get big pikes or big zanders up to 20-25 pounds as a bonus. Especially pike when fishing in grass.
Love this video, like to chime in on the comment "grass grows the same everywhere", not sure if you have been, but in Minnesota Grass grows twice as tall and twice as much as most other states. Practically every lake is a fully grassed up lake. The fish relate to grass similarly but because there is so much of it, it changes a lot.

I am not a grass fisher but my biggest question is how do you even navigate in and out of that thick stuff? I know a couple of buddies who wouldn't even dare go in for the safety of their motors. Floating in is easy but floating out would be a pain I would imagine if the wind shifts or dies down.

I fish stuff that looks good to me first, then when I get a bass or two, I hit the same type of spots I got bit at them first times. I go 20 floro, but only fish the northeast- so 5-8 pounders' is as good as I get. I also figure weeds are thicker down south. But I use thick, heavy hooks, an old 5-1 power baitcaster& yup- that "broomstick stiff" heavy fast or extra fast- Trying to use any lighter gear is like striper fishin' for 20 pounders on your avg. med hvy 7-1 setup. Its' hard to get a fish in.
Actually I use the rod to move the fish and the real just takes up line. Pump and wind takes the gear ratio out of the mix. It’s not grouper fishing offshore. Lower gear ratio reals for crank baits! Grass grows way thicker in Florida than Michigan so you can get away with less weight, etc… up north. Put a rattle in the worm and shake it in one spot till one picks it up.
Hey bro how often are you catching fish on the gremlin and how often do you throw it? I catch so many fish with worms and crawsb to the point i just stick with them and haven't given the gremlins a try again. I used them at a bond and creek so maybe thats the issue. I go fishing 3-4 times a week and only been skunked twice in the past 3 months or so

Greener the better. Multiple types of grass all in one area. Holes. Close to deep water. Close to spawning areas. When u get blow ups on a frog and don’t connect, start punching. I’m sure one of those was in the pay per view. You got it FO FREE.

Hell yeah Brian, bike riding is actually a lotta fun and state parks got them trails too, just saying!!!
How do you like those level rods ?

I guess I’ll have to subscribe to that class. I suck at grass fishing.
Nah, you just need reps at it. Get a heavy rod (Lews has some cheaper ones), some braid, Texas rigs worms or craws.
@@andrewboyce7268 I guess my problem is finding the best patches of grass successfully.
I can help you with that. It’s the most important part!

Bobby! Lmmfao!
Bobby needs a life!
I fish the Potomac River from the bank, and my moto is "Bass Fishing is pulling them out of the grass"!
Valuable lesson in this video: don’t use a rod that’s got any “uhhnn” gotta get one that has “EEERUUGHHH”

Bro just tell us the key spots to look for in grass. I can’t afford to sign up for your fishing class.
I don’t believe that. A man that don’t have $25 don’t need to worry about catching a bass. We need to go to work!!!😂
