As mentioned, Lions Club. Their whole mission is to help with vision issues. Also Doctors without Borders. It is mainly a French organization, but has volunteers from many countries. If her son has a chance to see them try and find an organization that is willing to help. I'm sure there are many other nonprofits out there. Best of luck. She is a very strong, strong lady (and cute too!)
Hi Leah! Has your Cousin tried the LIONS CLUB about her sons eyes? They have an office in Manila and that's what they do. I have a Niece that was born almost blind and they fixed her eyes so she could see. They paid for everything. Give them a call.

The way some people treat people who have less power and can't defend themselves is one of the saddest things about human beings. Treating people with dignity and respect is the bare minimum that should be tolerated. Some people say respect is earned and I've thought about this, and I disagree. Everyone gets my respect until they lose it. Thank your cousin for sharing her story. Most people who live in more prosperous countries have no idea how difficult it is for most of the people in the Philippines. Foreigners who visit should keep that in mind so they don't even accidentally exploit someone who is living a much tougher life than they could even imagine. I hope and pray that both your cousin and her son are able to find the care that can help them both.

Sad story ruined my day there is a blind child in my family it's sad you have to watch them all the time they can accidentally hurt themselves they don't realise how dangerous some things are
Yes.. I had a American ex who's child became blind at age 9.. he's 15 now.. but he still can identify me by voice when ever I'm around

I think she needs a proper diagnosis of her sons condition. There may be more than just vision issues if the poor kid can't communicate properly also. Quite sad but the sooner a specialist gets to see him, the better. Wishing her all the very best.

At 19, a girl doesnt have enough life experience to know what to do in some situations. I, personally would not have allowed myself 2 b treated like that. Contract or not, I would get out. I moved out from my house and moved into a VW van in 1972 when I was 15 yrs old, so its not idle talk for me.
But at 19, she didnt know all her options, not everyone is like me.

Here in The United States, hitting a person is called assault and battery. If this happened in The United States, she would call the police, then two policemen would go to the house and arrest the woman who hit Eva and take her to jail.
Please call the police and ask Eva to press charges against that horrible woman, or you could ask Gary to call the police. Gary has a voice of authority, and he knows how to get things done. 👍

I cannot feel or imagine how it is to have a blind child. I'm not gonna pretend that I am able to understand how you feel and how your life is. All I can do is point you to a book that might inspire your family to a better future in this regard. It is called "Think and grow rich" from Napoleon Hill. 1937 was the original version. In the chapter "Desire Outwits Mother Nature" the author talks about his deaf son. Maybe this little story will give your son a beautiful future too. I hope so. God bless!
P.S.: at least for amazon kindle their is a version of the book that costs nothing. Zero. At least in the EU. Idk about the Philippines. I wish your family all the best.

Leah, my father went on a missionary trip with his church to the Philippines, the missionary trip was to a special school for blind and deaf children. I don’t know if the school still exists, because the founder, an American man died, 2 years after my father went on the missionary trip. I don’t remember what large town the school was in. Maybe a person in your church might have knowledge of such a school. I just thought that I would mention it to you, and I wish the best for your cousin.
