Had to look up De Haven. She was a Fletcher class destroyer and the first one of the class lost when the Japanese were retreating from Guadalcanal. She was bombed by 6 Japanese bombers. One of the bombs hit the superstructure and kill the CO immediately. De Haven was only in commission for 133 days before being sunk.
They had an anti air shell mechanic like that in steel ocean on steam. Used to play it before they shut down the servers. Game was very similar to world of warships mechanics wise

Something without the silly childish pampering of the BBabies, giving them diapers since the game left closed beta? A game which not only looks like it has actual naval assets, but actually behave like naval assets? WoWs was a better game the year it left closed testing then it is today, period. Class interaction is worse as it was, more and more fantasy bs get's introduced like those childisch funny buttons on ships or 'combat operations' or silly things like that which suddenly change how a ship interacts making the game more a dice roll then anything actually skill based. Do you need me to go on or do you understand why WoWs isn't an 'actual naval game'? WeGreedy -> the optimal ammount of BBabies per game is 2 max 3 Also WeGreedy -> BBabies should be the hardest class to play, in accordance with batleships being the most RARE ship in actual navies. Then WeGreedy gives more and more BBaby lovers more diapers, more overmatch, more BBabies with hydro or radar, and CV REEEEEEEwork only made CV's prefer other targets then BBabies... because assured first strike gives even mouthbreathing animals a feeling of being of importance, especially against smaller ships which is the wrong way around BBabies were made obsolete by CV's, not cruisers and not DD's, currently CV's influence gameplay of DD's more then babies. Results -> MM where if you got two cruisers on each team you're in luck, you're not the only target which will get focused right away the other cruisers will draw half the other team to them. And as WeGreedy used to know during closed testing and even during CBT -> more as 3 BBabies and games get incredibly stagnant because no cruiser can push due to BBaby crossfire, and DD's play more passive if they lack close cruiser support. But hey, BBabies seem to be the biggest player group so they ruin the game for everyone else but at least WeGreedy has a player pool which loves games with 12BB vs 12BB sniping all from the red line and who only complain if they have to use brain+wasd to avoid torpedo's. Just as with those SSO's ( submarine shaped objects ) BBabies are getting all their precies BabyBoats to play with and WeGreedy only cares about how many pixels it can put into the game for 'players' to spend resources/money on.
Battlestations Midway was the first naval game I played and despite the lack of realism (which I only found out about later) it was a lot of fun and Pacific as a sucessor was also fun despite being even more unrealistic. I will for sure give this a try if I can get the game to work, which has been an issue for me.
@@BlackHearthguard nah, this is for PC only as are all BSP mods, you cannot really get into the games local files let alone run something like the MPAK extractor to unpack the game

That turret traverse for the Yamato is definitely wrong. About 2°/sec seems to have been an accurate figure, about half of most BBs, but also way heavier, 2.7 times as much as a Bismark turret.
The engagement ranges in this game are about 2km so you can see why they buffed it. IRL the ranges started at over 20km away with ships being spotted even further away.
I cant find the base game to install the mod. I know its not in steam, just the demo. But nothing at square enix either. Please dont be a tease Sea Lord.
All I can think of is you might be lucky and GOG may have it, but don't makes plans about getting it from there. Other than them, key resellers probably.

Nice! Really excited for this mod and the bad company mod for battlefield 2. Don't know why, but I really love these mods for these old games.

The "Turrets" don't have to be "that fast", that's really unrealistic.... But YES, I DO agree they SHOULD be FASTER.
Dont put "realistic" on a game that uses health bars
They do need to be that fast when you can only engage ships from 3km
I like their AA system... I knew a number of WW2 USN Vets. I have original photographs they took of the ships and the skies black with flak...
I also like the skies just being covered in flak and these 2 games definitely got that part
