- So in the past four days I ended up with a 2014 Kx85 that is all original. And a 2016 Kx100 that is also all original. While I still had both I thought I’d do a comparison for you guys. The specs are based on the 2020 models.

I didn't ride them very much, neither had been rode a lot when I bought them, especially the 100, but both are sold now.

I have a newer model kx 85 it runs but now it runs faster got the kx 85cc with the 100 head on it withe brand new piston and rings on it make it a lot faster once I changed the head and put new top end kit luv the 85cc super mini gonna fix me one real soon take care of them fine looking kx that you have some great looking kx super keep the great work up Mike holden out of North Carolina said that

I still have my kx100, its the perfect play bike. Everyone has pit bikes and the kx100 is my pit bike. My is a 105 so it hits a lil harder than a stock but its fun to ride.

how many hours does your bike have ? how often do u have to repaid that 2stroke kx100?
@@finessedtaeyt I don't have it anymore but they both probably had under 16 hours on them. We rebuild them when they start losing power.

Did you at least get to swap ur number plates and the aftermarket handlebars an handguards onto the kx100?
N Kastis sadly, no. We weren’t too big on the number plates since we didn’t race and we were going to swap handlebars and hand guards but stuff happened and it got really annoying and complicated lol!
This video is a good help, but I’m deciding on which one do I want I don’t mind the 85 but I just like the big wheels on the 100 & CR85’s but mainly I want a 100 but if I was to get a kx85 could I put the big wheel tires on there or?
That’s one of the main differences in the 85 and 100, the 100 has a longer swing arm, of course. But I’m not for sure how that would work though.

I’m thinking getting my brother the 100 let him ride my yz125 but it was to big for him but he ain’t a slow rider so 1 or 2 seasons on a super mini night be enough for him

Yeah thats true, it was said in the video lol, might be cheaper and less hassle to get the 100 but I havnt seen any 100's, even the kx85 is rarely seen now

i’m 5’7 or 5’8 ish and 134lbs, i ride a honda XL100 and i’m looking at the KX85 i’m still a beginner and like the bike not to big for me but enough where both feet are touching and i have lots of control, would an 85 be best?
you would have the most control on the 85, but i’d also look into the 100
I personally like 85’s more just because the 100’s are tall and harder to start.
They aren’t hard to start though
Depending on your height. If you’re on the shorter side, I could see it being a little more difficult to start

Not for certain actually, if the frames are the same then they should fit. I doubt they will, though.

Sorry but no theirs not enough of a power change so you’ll be better of getting a yz125 or any 125 2stroke. Trust me I have a kx100 and it’s awesome but I went from a 65 to it.
The only good way to know is if you can ride one, watching a vid is good to know about the bike but you can never really know till you ride one

How big is the diffrence? I'm 5'3" and dont know which one I should get. The seat height is only around an inch.
Goatages if I were you I’d sit on the 100 and see how comfortable you were on it. You should be able to flat foot or almost touch flat foot in the 85 but not the 100.
I always would get a bike that a tiny bit to big for me and grow in it, I got a Kx100 about 3 months ago when I was like 5’1 if that, but the size was fine because I rode a 150f before, so if the bike a little small I would say it’s fine as long as you can still touch the ground good. And a slightly taller bike is harder to kickstart when you can’t hardly touch the ground. But you being 5’3 you would be perfect of a 100

Yeah you would easy. I'm 5'3 and went with a full sized bike you need a full sized bike probably a 125 2 stroke if your a beginner

It all depends on what you do for riding and skill I’m 14 and 6 ft and I ride a 450 just test ride some 125-100-85s and see how you like the power

I luv the 85cc I have a yz fully modified with all the goodies lmao 6 foot tall I have 2 other big bike a rm250 2 stroke and a a kx 250 there fun too ride just built the top ends on both bikes with Wisco pro lite piston kit with gaskets complete top end job and replated cylinder with doomed style head gives it more compression done the yz 85cc it's awesome built too a 105 atena big bore kit super fast and don't weigh but 146 lbs the kx and rm weight of 236 lbs fast bikes but the yz will eat it up out of take off great hole shot bike is more fun*because you can't keep front tire down them small bikes will hurt you really gonna get a ktm 85 sx&>]
Oh yeah those little 85cc two strokes look like little kid bikes but they can pack a hard punch for their small size! I’d really rather ride one of those than a big ole 250 two stroke!

Charter Guard ehhh I would go until you can bend your knees pretty good on that 100 if you’re gonna directly switch to a 250. They’re still decently tall. I can hardly even tip toe on one foot on a 450 and I’m about 5’6
Thank you. I just wanted a second opinion because some people said get a 125 or 250 and some get a 85 or 100, I can kind of touch on my friends 250 but not really.

YZ250 may be a little too tall for your height, a 125 two smoker may be a good fit

It would get the job done, but you'd find yourself wanting more power and comfort with the lack of power and suspension, probably wouldn't highly recommend if you're going to do it competitively
So I am currently looking at getting a new dirt bike and is looking at the kx85 and kx100, I am 13 almost 14 and am about 5 ft. 3. I fit well on a kx85 but I think that Im gonna hit a big growth spurt soon because I haven't hit one yet and im about that age so I wanna get a kx100 even though I may not fit on it very well yet because I think im gonna hit my growth spurt. If you think that I should stick to the 85 lmk and if you think i should get a 100 lmk because so far I think imma go with the 100 but I need your guys oppinions.

Rad Planet the Kx85 is taller than the 125 as far as seat height. It is about 2 inches taller. The 100 is about four inches taller than the 125.

Rad Planet the 100 may suit you a little bit better than an 85. I went from an 85 to a 100 because an 85 was too short. I am about 5’6. So a 100 may fit a rider that tall a little better
@@radplanet7488 I'm 5'9 135#, and my girlfriend has both a crf125f big wheel and a kx100. The suspension on the 100 will sag way more than the 125f, so when sitting on them, for me they are about the same height sitting. The 100 is slightly taller, but it's way more bike. They both feel really small for me though. I ride a KTM 150.
Rad Planet don’t waste your money im 5’10 and the kx100 is way to small my kx250f fits me perfectly.

I don't have mine anymore, but a new one will run you around $4600 after tax, a used one can be anywhere from $1300 to $3500
