Genetics Part 8 - Mendel's Law of Independent Assortment
Why can’t we have teachers/ professors like you. I swear I lean more from our UA-cam educators than I do from my real professors. Thank you for carrying us. Eternally grateful for you. May you be blessed with long and healthy life. Just know your hard work means a lot to us. We appreciate you more than you could ever know.
There was a question on my homework that asked how meiosis 1 was related to the law of independent assortment. And now I found your video. You just saved my life!
I am so grateful for your superb explanations. You simplify complex concepts -which is much more difficult to do than most realize. Your lectures have single-handedly supplemented my understanding in my genetics and chemistry studies and I am forever grateful. What an incredible teacher and humanitarian you are, thank you! May your life and hard work be rewarded for you have touched and helped countless people.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you! Please share this channel with your peers!
The simplest explanation I have ever seen. Thank you sir.
Can’t thank you enough, this video just cleared many doubts of mine. And made my life much better than ever ☺️😌 I have now, gained much more concept clarity than I had before. Kudos to your teaching !!! Keep up the great work
Wonderful! Thank you! Please tell your peers about our channel :)
i want to like the video but its exactly at 420 likes...

And I was here between textbooks trying to understand this for hours, while you just explained it in 4 mins 🤨
I wish I had a professor like you, I can't thank you enough truly ❤️
Hi, could I ask if independent assortment occur in metaphase 2 as well since there are different possible arrangements of non identical sister chromatids( due to recombination during crossing over) during metaphase 2 of meiosis 2 ?
Solid explanation, thank you! Clarified practically everything.
Excellent explanation! To simplify, the Law of independent assortment is saying that the probability of two genes ending up in the SAME gamete is the same as the probability of two genes ending up in a DIFFERENT gamete.
Incredibly clear explanation!
So much better than khan academy's excruciatingly long videos
Yes but they are actually from the AAMC so not completely useless
but no one's saying it's useless, just excruciatingly long?
Double the speed, and their questions are helpful. Especially the CARS.
Khan academy is produced assuming everyone watching has no background or remote clue about the idea discussed. Here, you're supposed to be sorta familiar so it's understandable why it's more concise. Don't shit on Khan Academy lol.

Your way of teaching is so nice 🙂
WOW FINALLY SOMEONE DEFINING INDEPENDENT ASSORTMENT IN A WAY THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON
Where r u from?

Would independent assortment lead to different traits (physical) in a human being? ex. the assortment of my genes leads to a different hight or hair color or is that just my genes.
1:15 *Replicate during S phase do they not ?
i have teacher like you explaining the independent assortment on the basis of chromosome level other just taking capital t small t what is this the capital nt goint wiht capital r and also smaller independent of what is tall and small
would you happen to have a website, or any worksheets to practice with? thank you :)
I don't see how someone can practice on a biological law. But if you're refering to some other lessons of him, I agree.
Thanks! this helped a lot
very good u r very intelligent .

Best video ever it helped me understand it so perfectly
Can a single sister chromatids undergo synapses in the half top and bottom at the same time?
Amel Weasley i don’t think so? Because synapsis happens with alleles lining up nearby each other. ( blue eye, brown eye) unless the chromatid in only in the s1 phase and an error happens skipping s phase and s2
Very good thank you!
very clear
he looks like dominic west younger version but extremely good at sciences
Awesome
So is it the single arm chromosome(condensed version of chromotin) that replicates to form the iconic double arm or the chromotin replicates itself and then condenses to form the iconic double arm structure Chromosome.
Need help!!
An ALevel student from sri lanka.
The chromatids
crazy bruh
I didn't know Ben Affleck taught biology!
i am sir biggest fan
thank u

Love from 🇮🇳
My biology teacher legit thinks this is the most important part of Meiosis and Mitosis.
only happens in Meiosis
Good presentation
So nice of you
omg I finally get it
Great explanation but doesn't his mannerisms give you Robert California from the office vibes.
My real intention was to understand this topic. But I am so distracted by his drop dead gorgeous looks😭😭🥰
Ur fine
thank you sir i have no idea why this concept was as annoying as it was
You can explain in hindi
What is happening in my pants?
