This deserves far more views and likes. I too myself anticipated the same concept at the back of my mind when I studied about this law from textbook but when I came on youtube to verify my anticipation, I found no other lecture other than yours explaining the same. Highly appreciate your efforts for telling us the under the hood working of this law.
This is the best explanation and efforts put into I have ever come across for law of independent assortment otherwise people get started explaining segregation law in between independent assortment..perfect
I always search about the teacher that clear all my doubts.. till now I can't find that teacher ..but it video help ME a lot and I'm so excited .thank you sir
I have been following organic chemistry videos of Ak lectures and I ended mastering organic and now mendelian genetics too. You are the best on youtube.
bro literally took 12 minutes to explain meiosis. Guys all the says is that it does meiosis and then makes different gene combos due to recombination & anaphase in meiosis. (Where he gets to the point if you know meiosis already: 9:00 -you are welcome.
so, does this mean that all gametes have different genetic info? And does this law of independant assortment apply in humans only? What about law of segregation?
It should be the yellow that is dominant over the green. Also, as far as I know, as the naming convention goes, the alleles are named after the initial of recessive one. So it shoud be ggDd, not GgTt, which only got me more confused. Geez.
How isn't this video at million likes??? People have not either been exposed to this AK's videos, or they are just ungrateful. ...Either way...thank you AK.
Hey yellow colour of cotyledon is dominant over green colour.Plz check that and edit the video.Anyways, the topics are well explained and congratulations for it.
Sir you are incredible really sir,sir don't give up become when a men thinks that he cannot succeed actually that is the time to hold your selve and struggle more❤️❤️❤️❤️
The concepts you teach are accurate, but you messed up and stated that green seeds are dominant to yellow. This statement is inaccurate. Yellow is dominant to green, which is well known to biologists who studied the data gathered from Mendel's experiments.
crossing over does not affect the odds of the resultant chromosome combinations, it only affects the chromosomes itself as it swaps some alleles from one chromosome to the other homogeneous chromosome.
Heeyy wait..the message from ak lectures whc you get is not sent by the vedio maker its just an automated message...so nomatter wht u ask thank u or ..your welcome r nly the rplys..amywyas cool teahing
What does it mean when they say the law of independent assortment is only true when for genes that are on separate chromosomes but not necessarily for genes that are on the same chromosomes? Thanks a bunch anyways, really helpful!
well it is true for the genes on the same chromosomes as well I believe, unless they are linked genes. Genes on the same chromosomes are not necessarily inherited together always, as crossing over can occur.
@@palak6981 In case anyone else has the same question, it's crossing over. Because the gene on one chromosome could end up on the homologous chromosome, the allele for that trait doesn't have to be inherited with the allele in the same chromosome. That's why mendel's law of independent assortment still holds true.

Excellent Teacher! Your explanations are simple and to the point.
The green is not dominant over the yellow. It is the other way round. It is the green pod that is dominant over the yellow.
I always search about the teacher that clear all my doubts.. till now I can't find that teacher ..but it video help ME a lot and I'm so excited .thank you sir
A moment of honour to such a great teacher
I am studying medicine, your videos are my secret weapons. You are a lifesaver!
this is the first time I actually understand the terminologies, thank you
don't know how I explain my respect to you....I would like to know your name please if you don't mind.
wow amazing tooo gud luv it.... ur English pronunciation was fine amazing....plz continue tis work ....😇😇😍😍
11:11 you meant metaphase one and not two i believe
Bro I wish you were my biology teacher
I have been following organic chemistry videos of Ak lectures and I ended mastering organic and now mendelian genetics too. You are the best on youtube.
Yellow seed is dominant
I've read that the gene for yellow seed colour is dominant over green colour.
Yeah me too!!
yea same with mee too
ND_ Quantum i suppose, it should be the color of the pod.
Great video and explanation, I know you were trying to simplify it, however you didn’t account for crossing over in meiosis I
This is the bestest explanation of Mendel's law of independent assortment so far
Very rare will explain like this this1vido is enough rather than all fucking vidios grea👍👍👌👌👌👌🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏👏
Thank you so much for making this amazing video!! Made my life a hundred times easier.
thanks professor! i like so much your explanations!
Thanks so much i was never been this worried about this topic even yhough biology is pretty easy for me. Thanks for releifing my stress 😅

Ive watched many videos but no one really cleared my doubt as in urs. Thanks very much
Harry potter ossis to get you believe in lala land when sciencentific method with in with of withe the LAW.
This helped so much! Thank you!
01:02 brother actually yellow seed colour is dominant over the green in pea plant 😅
fun Fact> Mendel knew nothing about chromosome
I am not able to understand actually where the pachytene go bcz no one is considering it just starting from metaphase
This guy loves science, you can feel it by the way he explains it. WOW
You cleared up so much confusion! Thank you!
sir yellow seed colour is
dominant over green???/
Thank you so so much!
This is really helpful :)
remo chan awesome! you're welcome :)
Thank you I understand this topic❤

Your videos are amazing like you only.....Thanks for sharing these videos....Really helped a lot!!!!
Thanks very helpful

Genetics made simple through you. Thank you so much
Great Explanation
Love from India bro
Really helpful...thnk u so much ..I can't get a concept until I watch ur vid about that
🎉
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏thank u!!
Literally an angel
Genius teacher
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you ENDLESSLY
*Yellowcase G*
sir u r saying that gamets only formed due to diiference in alignment during meosis.crossing over will happen or not
This makes soo much sense! Thank you!
thanks
Good video
Excellent
Thank youuu for this clear explanation
Hi sir.
why you have not shown crossing over before metaphase ?
sir, where does the law of segregation happen in this video?
thanks.
Great video! Very helpful!! Thank you so much!
Perfect explanation. It answers so many questions!
You are the best when it comes to explaining a concept. Thankyouu so much ! :))
what happens if crossing over takes place? Though genes are in different chromosomes, I think crossing over does affect 50%-50% chances.
crossing over does not affect the odds of the resultant chromosome combinations, it only affects the chromosomes itself as it swaps some alleles from one chromosome to the other homogeneous chromosome.
Yellow seed color is dominant over green seed color
Is it possible that these genes are located on the same chromosome ?
thankyou so much ! gr8 help for exams :)
Thanks alot, it was a great help :)
yellow colour is dominant over green
Yes.
you're the best! Thank you.
Thank you very much Sir.
Very interesting lecture tnx
Great lectures really! Thank you so much
You made it so clear! Thanks
I wish you were my Biology teacher.
First time I understood this❤️

Bhargav Sisir On the contrary, these messages are not automated. I check them and respond to them personally :-)
ohhh...realyy...thats cool...well im really srry fr my ignorant behaviour...nd anyways thnx fr conforming the fact...u rock
Bhargav Sisir thanks! :-) no problem, glad to clear that up.
how can you say exactly half.
Very well expressed explanation!
GREAT explanation!!
When does crossing over occur?
best lecture i have attended on this topic
best explanation ever
Excellent

nice lecture!
amazing! Thank you so much
sir i bow down to you thank youuu
excellent
Thanks
This was ridiculously helpful! Thank you!!!
+alriyaad welcome!
This is so good. Thank you so much
Hi A K Lectures.
How can this be explained if both the traits are on the same chromosome?
Thanks.
santhi gattineni you're welcome.
@@AKLECTURES Sir please answer the above question.

did really help!!!
Looking like st
