I put a jar of these in my evo 13.5 a month ago. Very impressed with the results.
My wife and I have used algae barn multiple times in 2019 and 2020 and we will use them again and again we have never received a read batch from them not to say it wouldn't happen but we haven't had this experience yet

Does it have to be refrigerated the phyto?
Trigger Pods are best, because you can really see them.
I like r2r try them pods already mature, algae barn is ok my mandarin lived over 1 yr now. What i did was made a purchase from both places wait couple months and purchase from both once more. Man pods all over so yes it is a good ideal to purchase from both places. Nice video bro

Dont buy them, they aren't good pods at all. This company is horrible . Just letting you know from a fellow reefer, been in the hobby for 7.5years and a high end collector of sps. Lots of wrasses I have and this company is like a snake oil ...
Rob Russ0 where do you source your live pods from? I just got a thing of 5,280 from them and ocean magic. Trying to add a ton of biodiversity to my new tank. I also made a huge order of basically everything except inverts from Indo pacific sea farm.
Just start a culture and breed your own food stock. I did it in my fuge.
I've bought bags of them haven't seen one of them in my tank fowllowed instructions as stated so I don't think I'll be buying anymore
plootsa I am worried about that also. They shipped well and arrived fine but who knows if they will establish themselves. I will keep you updated if i see any in the tank. They are too expensive to buy multiple times.
You have to look at the tank when all the lights are out and you have to look through the front glass while shinning a flash light through the left fish tank wall of glass then you'll see them all over the glass it's insane
They are like 4 microns small so it's almost impossible to see them
So I’m in the process of setting up a RSR 425 and have been considering adding pods to the refugium. Since it’s been about a year since you made this video, I am curious what your opinion is now. Papa Beepbeep The pods arrived alive and did establish themselves in the tank. like all pods, getting them to establish is the tricky thing. And finding them in your tank even if the establish is just as difficult. Do tanks need pods? Probably not. But they are fun to have. My experience with Algae barn has been on par with other pod brands.

How often need to top up the pods?
Abdul Rahim Abdul Rahman I wouldn’t continually top them off once they are established unless you are trying to keep a dragonet alive. It is too expensive. Just do 1-2 introductions and monitor to see if you see them every once in a while. You can also culture them yourself in a separate tank if you want to continually add them as a food source

Do physical media block pods?.. and do return pumps kill them.??
Physical media like filter socks can block them from moving from the main tank back to the sump, so It may be a good idea to leave the socks out a month (or use sparingly) so that they can establish populations in both locations. Return pumps typically don't hurt them.
I bout the same ones and I promise you it is a rip off.If it’s free I’ll promise you ,use it. I would not invest the money to purchase this product. I purchased it from bulk reef supply.I let the copepods acclimate to room temperature and took a picture and sent it to them. They never replied back.
Could be quality control. I hope it all got sorted out. They are super hard to see. Pods are a nice to have thing but not really needed in a reef tank unless you have mandarins.

Increase the copepods for the price. Add amphipods.
They say 5280 because they are from Denver the mile high city. If you've ever been there you will notice everything is 5280

I've also bought from them didn't see a whole lot moving around, just milky water, even used a jeweler's loop and only saw a few. Won't be buying from them again.
