I do not understand why this was such an issue. Who the hell was she supposed to marry? How many royal potential men are there ? She was brave to take life and a partner on her own terms. Not the outdated, over regulated stuffy palace rules that leave no room for individual growth or decision making. Even if the marriage ends, she knows she has the strength to live life with meaning and Joy.

Commoner but not ordinary commoner. They get Japanese police guards in New York and they spend 650000$ for guarding their house. Also house expenditure etc because her husband does not earn enough their lifestyle. All come from Japanese tax.
