For the amount of time these pundits talk about United, their analysis of the club is genuinely lazy. Any proper analysis of the club has to begin with the absurd wage structure and transfer fee policies that existed for far too many years under the Glazers and Ed Woodward. United players have routinely been paid far above true market value. And United’s higher ups routinely allowed themselves to get extorted by other clubs for highly inflated transfer fees. The end result has not only been United massively overpaying for players in the transfer market and paying players absurd wages but it’s also made it incredibly difficult for United to actually sell any players past their sell by date in any sort of timely manner. Anyone actually paying close attention to United knows the club are in a period of transition away from the old recruitment model to a model under INEOS, Berrada, Ashworth, and Wilcox based around signing primarily younger and hungrier players to much more sensible contracts much closer to true market value. This is what an actual project and transition period looks like.

I think United's strongest 11 - Onana, Shaw, Martinez, Yoro, Dalot, Mainoo, Mount, Fernandez, Garnacho, Hojland, Amad - on paper looks really good and we do have some depth up top (Zirkzee, Rashford, Antony, Erikson) but CM is wafer thin, Casa (not good enough, Collyier (Young lad) McTominay (no good in possession) - CB - Evans, Lindelof, Maguire ( all past it at the top level and always get found out although tbf to Evans put in a great show for a 37 year old and credit to him, class player we should have never sold). Wan Bissaka decent back up at RB but does he really want to be at united also doesn't suit our style of play, no cover at LB apart from you Harry Amass and he will be playing way to many games. As i say i like the optimism and i think our squad has the makings of title challenge in them but we do need more players in...sell Erikson, Casa, Lindelof, McTominay and bring in two CB's and two CM's and a LB and that would do it but it wont happen this year, it's going to take time :S

For the amount of time these pundits talk about United, their analysis of the club is genuinely lazy. Any proper analysis of the club has to begin with the absurd wage structure and transfer fee policies that existed for far too many years under the Glazers and Ed Woodward. United players have routinely been paid far above true market value. And United’s higher ups routinely allowed themselves to get extorted by other clubs for highly inflated transfer fees. The end result has not only been United massively overpaying for players in the transfer market and paying players absurd wages but it’s also made it incredibly difficult for United to actually sell any players past their sell by date in any sort of timely manner. Anyone actually paying close attention to United knows the club are in a period of transition away from the old recruitment model to a model under INEOS, Berrada, Ashworth, and Wilcox based around signing primarily younger and hungrier players to much more sensible contracts much closer to true market value. This is what an actual project and transition period looks like.

I'm a Utd fan for 30 years plus and even i can admit we won't finish top 4 again this season. Once we got the 2 signings we got pretty early on this summer i genuinely thought " well thats all our business done" in and out.

As a Utd fan I’m totally confused what this guy sees. We’re not a top 4 team any more. Years of buying players that fit different systems. Low block, high press, no DM, youth team playing another system that doesn’t match the 1st team so limited players coming through. We need unity and a common direction going forward which is neither tied to players or managers, the Utd way

I love it when Man Utd fans are this confident and positive about their team. They keep harping on the FA Cup, well City didn't show up in that game, they've just won PL 4 times in row and were out celebrating, I don't think they took the game seriously.
I am hoping Man Utd win the PL and EL this season. Winning the FA Cup and League cup would be bonuses, as well as the community shield. It has been too many years of missing out on the bigger prizes. This is our best chance in years.
