    Please don't phase out Job Control. It really just seems like a better piece of software to me, even if it is more old school.

      Job Control will indeed be phased out, but if you like the old software, it will always continue to work for you; you will just no longer see any feature updates in Job Control.

    Really interesting sofware to replace Job Control, but is it possible to increase number as Serial number for example on different job on a same print ?

      Not sure what you are asking here. Ruby does offer a dynamic data feature for things like lists of serial numbers; here is a video on the process, let us know if you have any questions ua-cam.com/video/guWoHLjbr9g/v-deo.htmlsi=JOJffu9rZiTg6u1x

    Is there a way to copy paste 44:48 rectangles/squares and change an overlapping line to black engrave instead of cutting?

      Yes, this is possible using the Array feature in the Manage screen; select the item, then select the four squares icon to do this.

    I really hope they add a text to path tool or make it so we will be able to put text into a circle or oval shape - it would help make many jobs so much easier to just edit (like a name) in RUBY - instead of doing it all in Illustrator and then having to export it.

    Hi Dave, am having trouble with assigning different colors for different cuts in ruby and also outlining the the job without cutting or engraving to see if the design will fit can you help?

    • @TrotecLaser
      @TrotecLaser  9 місяців тому

      Your colors need to match the RGB color pallet; see this link and let us know if this helps: ua-cam.com/video/3jPU4FBtMKE/v-deo.htmlsi=IIGyuEPTu5hqA0Ul

      How do I frame the job in ruby? If I want to see if it will engrave where I want it to?

    I’m extremely disappointed that Ruby isn’t available for Mac and/or Linux. I haven’t used Windows since 2012, and I’m not going back for laser software. This is one reason why LightBurn has such large market share. It’s also the main reason I won’t use Trotec’s admittedly wonderful, fast lasers, despite their design and performance advantages.

      @brianoak1600 Ruby is available for any OS, including Mac and Linux, as long as you order a new laser machine with the Run on Ruby onboard computer. Please watch starting at the 7:42 Mark for details.

    Ruby doesn't allow you to set markers and so you can't adjust your object or print form. So it's more a playful simple software for beginners but for professional tasks you will need job control. The problem: job control doesn't works on the new trotec lasers - so better buy an older model before 2022.

      Ruby can create Markers by pushing the "F8" ket in the Prepare screen. Ruby is not a "Playful simple software." As you state, Ruby has far exceeded the old JobControl Software in its features and capabilities, providing hundreds of features that cannot be achieved in JobControl. Please see this link for updated training on Ruby to see all the features that are now possible, like Print merge, tracing, Nesting and Graphic editing, and so much more: www.mytrotec.com/us/rubybasics/

      @@TrotecLaser Whow!! You are right. With "F8" I can really set markers. Now I'm curious if still the atmos filter will start when only moving the laser head to the markers like it happens in Jobcontrol and Rayjet Manager. Funny that the Trotec staff in Germany and even the sales personal from Austria on the "Drupa 2024" didn't know it and say they don't support markers any more. I really ask for that at the fair. Maybe because there is no Icon for that. I know that even in Job Control and in the Trotec Rayjet Manager is a lot of hidden prompts that a nowhere described and mostly unknown. One example: to change movement speed of the laser by the hard buttons for adjustment, you can switch by "2x press ALT and 1 time press STRG/CTRL - than it goes slow, slower or faster) and similar tricks.
