Epic song. The words close out the series perfectly. Sung so beautifully. I dont think there will be any movie that portrays the books perfectly but these movies really captured the spirit and heart of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Brovo to Peter Jackson and to the epic cast.
I sing in a choir of 160+ for people who have been told or don't believe they can sing. We will be singing this soul-stirring song and I never get through it without goose bumps.
Annie Lennox INTO THE WEST Lay down Your sweet and weary head Night is falling, You have come to journey's end. Sleep now, And dream of the ones who came before. They are calling From across the distant shore. Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see All of your fears will pass away, Safe in my arms You're only sleeping. What can you see On the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea A pale moon rises -- The ships have come to carry you home. Dawn will turn To silver glass A light on the water All souls pass. Hope fades Into the world of night Through shadows falling Out of memory and time. Don't say, We have come now to the end. White shores are calling You and I will meet again. And you'll be here in my arms Just sleeping. What can can you see On the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea A pale moon rises -- The ships have come to carry you home. And all will turn To silver glass A light on the water Grey ships pass Into the west.
I don't care what mean things people say about this movie trilogy it will always go down in history as being the most.nominated for the academy awards that one year with all the wins it got it was there year and it was a fantastic movie series never read the books but I'm going to bet there just as hell of a good book as the movies
I've never heard anything Bad written or said about these movies, yet if I had I would laugh in the face of that judgement. Masterpieces of movie Magic !
what an absolutely beautiful song and a fitting track for this movie ...i was reading the comments below and honestly they made these movies as well as they could i genuinely think that if someones going to read the books they wont decide not because they've seen the movies and yes bits were missed even in the extended versions but let's be real the money involved was staggering it would've been astronomical just to put in every detail from the fellowship alone. They were beautiful and directed by a huge fan of the books and if you ask me it shows. (picking a wee bit at the desolation of smaug the 2nd hobbit movie thou lol)
Magnifique montage.
IT IS SO SAD THAT FOLLOWING GENERATIONS WILL THINK THAT Jackson's high budget fantasy is more real than reading the actual JRR Tolkein. I saw it all much clearer before the movies perverted it. Imagine, a Lego Tauriel!
Yes.You're right. We love all middle-earth THINGS.Books,movies,games.Not just book. But all of these had made by ONE heart (to love them all :) And J.R.R. Tolkien wrote...
***** True! But for those of us who know the books inside and out since the early 1960s, it is a sad travesty what they left out, how they misrepresented the real work, and the silly things they made up. All the images and people live more real in my mind than on the video. But I'm an old guy, you will inmherit the Earth, such as it is... Enjoy!
***** Well, we can agree to disagree in a friendly way. But Jackson will not miss my dozen dollars, and I will have the pleasure oif another read. I am a visual peson too but my inner vision is SO much richer, you will never know. I don't expect word for word accuracy but his vision is simply lame to me. We are all entitled to our opinions!
I don't understand this attitude, the books are still there in their pure form. Then there are the film adaptions. It's not like there was a nazi style round up then subsequent burnings of the original stories by the evil peter jackson, only for him to re-write it with the original story lost to the ages.
I am Job The point is that huge financing and advertising has made the films hugely popular, eclipsing the books. It was more fun when we were a tiny cult instead of a commercial load of crap! Pardon my French. But the movies are so overdone they look like cartoons. This is my last comment, so those of you who fail to understand, don't bother to comment - go find out about Tom Bombadil first! I just don't like the movies or Jackson. The music is pretty good tho'.
Every scene, every frame of this trilogy has a soul!
it's Legend!
I cry every time I hear this song! such a beautiful voice, and song! chills and such emotion. 2020

+Dianne Renick Post a video of your performance, if you can :)
I will! Our concert was last weekend, sold out, and we're up to 180. Music fills what is missing in people's lives. Thank you for asking :-)
Toujours une aussi belle voix!👄🎵🎶
Annie Lennox
INTO THE WEST
Lay down
Your sweet and weary head
Night is falling,
You have come to journey's end.
Sleep now,
And dream of the ones who came before.
They are calling
From across the distant shore.
Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away,
Safe in my arms
You're only sleeping.
What can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises --
The ships have come to carry you home.
Dawn will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
All souls pass.
Hope fades
Into the world of night
Through shadows falling
Out of memory and time.
Don't say,
We have come now to the end.
White shores are calling
You and I will meet again.
And you'll be here in my arms
Just sleeping.
What can can you see
On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea
A pale moon rises --
The ships have come to carry you home.
And all will turn
To silver glass
A light on the water
Grey ships pass
Into the west.
Just epic. The feeling is ...
Por mucho una de las mejores trilogías de todos los tiempos, realmente magnifico. Muchas emociones.

The books are even better
I've never heard anything Bad written or said about these movies, yet if I had I would laugh in the face of that judgement. Masterpieces of movie Magic !
@@EenGeniaalGameKanaal I have to agree. I can appreciate the films but the book just played out differently in my head and heart.
@@olive4naito yep :D
Farewell and godspeed Sir Ian...

Merci pour cette vidéo :)
the most beautyful song ever
This is my favorite Music in the Trilogy. The moment when Sam was carrying Frodo up the mountain was very inspirational.
Yep. This is a *CHILLS* song.
best thing in life ppl need fantasy and annie needs all my hugs
MyDalamar Annie needs a hug from EVERYONE. And I would die happy with just one from her. ❤
wundervoll....der Song.............
My heartstrings...
Is so sad when a wondefull story like this ends...
+Sofia Rossi I have hope that we have to turn this fairy tale into the reality before it is too late for us too survive, even in EU.

Best LotR and Hobbit Trilogy Ending songs!
And to echoe a previous comment of mine:
Tauriel will die.
My words will be true.
+Holydiver2107 Sorry, but you were wrong. :(
+TheeBlackWitch The wrongness of my echo will haunt me through the ages! :( :P :)
Holydiver2107 I think the best is last goodbye at the end of hobbit 3 by Billy boyd
Seriously. It takes 17 days for someone to comment back, and it's not even on the right topic. Really!?!
I will not say do not weep, for not all tears are an evil
RIP Ian Holm
This is amazing! I love this song and I've never seen this trailer before. Truly magnificent!
I'm singing this in choir!!!
Not a big fan of the LOTR movies. but this song is brilliant IM0.
