Hello potters. Today Lindsay and I smash the pots we no longer want or did not find good enough to sell. most Potter is culturally call this their purge day but Lindsay and I called it "link day" because of a video game character that left to smash pots as part of the core mechanics of the game.

I did my yearly round up of seconds recently to sort for lost causes and reglaze potential. Getting ready for a smash day soon. I break them all down into mosaic tiles and sell for crafts/ fairy garden paths since I have a fantasy-based audience. Feels so good to get that shelf space back! Glad you guys can have fun doing it together!
Ok so Lindsay's mom is clearly a national treasure! As someone who is brand new (3 months in) I have a few that need to be yeeted... I just don't have the heart to do it yet LOL
you do know there's a famous park in Barcelona Spain (Gaudi Park) Gaudi made an amphitheater of broken pottery from the neighborhood. I've been there and it's beautiful.

Noooo!!!!! I hate these videos! While I watch the whole thing! Lol. But… I have soo many that I need to do this too!! They take up so much damn room! I had a ton of pots craze realllly badly and need to just get rid of them! You two are HILARIOUS when you get hot!! Hahaha
Were do all the shards go ??? Is there a safe way to dispose them? I have given way so much pottery that I really don't like.... but the receivers have been so excited with them. I guess ones trash is another treasure.
I used to keep everything... I have learn to be more selective now.

As a potter, I get it! And... I need to do this. Except- I've seen other potters put all the shards in a tumbler and break them down. Do you do the same, or just dump it all in the trash bin? (Not trying to kill the vibe, I'm just wondering.) I get the same reactions, though... "What!? You're going to destroy that!?? It's so pretty!" 👀🙄
Some people would pay for the privilege of doing that, the catharsis of destruction can be therapeutic, you could invite some patreons to that activity or auction it for charity or i don't know, maybe some new equipment.
