    THE WAR TURTLE 🐢 IS STILL TRUCKING ALONG
    Alex here and I'm at 27 credits now and still working crazy hours 60 to 80 hours a week. I will always be grateful of how far I have come and even if it's taking time. My dad gave me a book on punctuation and grammar for my birthday tomorrow when I do touchstones/essays for school. On some good news I'm getting a promotion next month but that doesn't have to do anything with school 😂😂

My last day is end of April, im planning on trying the sophia route to knock out credits to transfer to most likely WSU and see if i can earn my bachelor's by end of summer or at least before the holiday season. 😊 Im glad i found your channel, this content has really motivated me to not only earn some certifications in the fraud prevention field (CFE and CAMS), but check the box of having that Bachelor's.

    As a father of one current and one former Sophia student I would discourage other Sophia students from racing through the courses.
    CBE courses present the temptation to complete courses as fast as one can which inhibits long term memory and decreases the likelihood of realizing a nuanced mastery of the material.
    Since the majority of Sophia courses are foundational, it is probable that you will need the information in the future.
    I encouraged my children to study Sophia intensely so they will be better prepared for more rigorous courses when they transfer.

      It’s definitely easier in some ways when you’re younger, but it’s also easier in some ways when you’re older! Your short term memory isn’t as good, but your ability to interpret instructions and follow them dramatically increases with age 😜

    what law school can you apply to, after you graduate from one of those college hacked? you should make a video, on medical, and law school possibilities.

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  6 місяців тому +1

      That would be an awesome video! But we don’t have the direct examples to do it. While we haven’t seen anyone rejected from their chosen grad programs for hacking yet, most of our clients aren’t headed for law/medical school, they just need degrees for promotions or regular online grad school :) We’ve set a few people up to go that direction (law school, med school, PA school), but they are all on the younger side so it will be a couple years until we see how their admissions cycles pan out.
      Lauren did a chipotle degree (build your own major) for her undergrad and was accepted to a couple medical schools with it, but she didn’t have any Sophia/Study on those transcripts. Med schools tend to want residential RA science courses, but theoretically it should be possible to hack the non-prereq courses without issue :) But to answer your question, I’ve yet to see a law school website that says your classes can’t be hacked, while most med schools explicitly say “residential RA sciences required.”

    I'm not sure this is a good thing. Institutions may question the quality of the education received. Ruining it for the rest of us.

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  7 місяців тому +4

      I've wondered that too, but I think the thing to remember is that Sophia just certifies courses at the C level of accomplishment, and if you've ever been in a college classroom, you know that these people were putting in more effort per class than some C level students, and institutions know it too. With grade inflation, college is easier than it ever has been. And institutions want these transfer students. They know if they stop accepting Sophia, they're missing out on a full year per student who goes elsewhere. It's supply and demand. Still, there are some questions that need to be asked about Sophia's recent decision to use AI to grade some touchstones. I think that will be problematic.

      Use it to prove to the school you want to go to that you already know what you already know, so you're not repeating "knowledge" acquisition because some one didn't want to trust your prior learning/schooling. A lot of things nerds like to read and watch don't give certified credits but they're still learning. Faster credits helps bridge the gap. It's not a crutch or an excuse not to learn, but it becomes a bridge over old stuff to reach new stuff, the stuff we actually want to learn at universities, not repeating high school for a year or two before we can get to the meatier topics of our chosen fields.

    Hi.
    Question, I called a school in Queens NY to ask if they accept credits from ACE or NCCRS.
    They didn’t say that they did accept it the didn’t accept it. They said the transcript’s would have to be evaluated. So my question is, what are they trying to evaluate?

    • @CollegeHacked
      @CollegeHacked  7 місяців тому

      That means they don’t have a set protocol for dealing with these types of credit, so at best you’ll have to make a formal appeal to their registrar for every class to get it accepted, which is actually a pretty big pain. Worst case scenario once they understand what you’re asking they’ll just say they don’t accept them at all. There are great schools who do, we recommend those instead 😊
