** When I was in high school, I tried to rap. I thought I was a decent rapper, but dudes kinda clowned me. Then I would say, “Silkk the Shocker has a record deal and a platinum record out so let me be” They were like “good point” It gave me hope. True story.
Every time I hear Silkk the Shocker rap, I imagine Master P mama saying "Let your little brother rap on the track baby". Another Silkk song you might want to try is Somebody Like Me w/ Mya, it's got a more R&B vibe to it, and might be a good barometer to tell how you actually feel about him as a rapper. And even if you end up not liking him, Mya's on it, which instantly makes it worth listening to and watching.
LMFAO i havent even watched yet but the fact u reviewing this is funny af. I'm from new orleans son and let me tell you now, we all know silkk be fucking up anything he touches.
We always used to go off on Mystikal. He never disappoints. You should do more of his stuff. Silk… I was in Baton Rouge at the time. Even though he was local, we still clowned his, umm, search for the beat
This was the beginning of letting anybody rap... it's like when you listen to Silkk the Shocker after you feel tired as hell is Like you been chasing this Nigguh around
The reaction was appropriate! Mystikal got energy for days, beat is good, but most people are confused with Silk's off-beat self. 100% perfect reaction!
The No-limit era was wild, it was something seeing a independent label drop damn near every month was crazy. I think by the time it was all said and done the tank dropped 100 albums. You can literally do a No-limit day each week and have enough content for a few years. 1998 was the best year in my opinion. If you want to checkout some heat, look up Tru (Master P, C-Murder and Silk the Shocker), check out "Who Got The Fire" from Fiend, and anything off of Mia-X's "Unlady Like" album is a can't miss (the title track was one of my favorites). It was so many artist we couldn't keep up with it. If you dig into the catalog they got some heat, especially around the time Snoop joined No-Limit!
Silkk is spitting off-beat deliberately. People knocking him for it are lame for not knowing this. Mystical is the shit. Wont be another one like him. Tarantula still gets played at my spot.
I was like that with E40 like wtf is this dude doin. It wasn't until I got high as hell and turned on in a major way album a buddy left at my house and was like ok. 😅
You gotta listen to silkk 1996 or before .. that's when he was great... Silkk the shocker album or the ghettos trying to kill me features.. the first Tru album... Some of the no limit compilations from that era.. silkk was dope bro
Yo ahmad check out horse and carriage remix with camron big pun wyclef charlie Baltimore and sillk da shocker . I swear this song is one where sillk actually stays on beat lol
This the song I listen to if I wanna get pissed off. Silkk was making me mad wit whatever flow he wanted to call this lmao. But....he do got some songs I listen to from him still, try "If I Don't Gotta (Ft. Master P & Fiend)" or "Gimme the World" way better. I dont get mad at those songs 😂😂
Mystical's "did I do that" comes from the Steve Urkel character from "Family Matters" tv show. When Urkel would mess something up he would say "did i do that." So there's some context behind the hook and title of the song.
Silk da Shocker rapped off beat most of his career it made songs like this unlistenable for me even tho the beat is sick. Mystical is on and off the beat to but at least he found a pocket and he sounds good.
Silk on his first album is straight. Silk features on other No Limit artists was even better. Songs like Ghetto D, Let Get Em, Gangsta Need Love, Bourbans and Lacs, Born 2 be a soldier, War Wounds, I Miss My Homies, etc
He did it on purpose...but it's cuz he talks fast, so he puts double the words on the beat than most folks do, and he did it on purpose ti be different cuz that was when u had to be original and couldn't sound like anybody else cuz biting would get u swung on
The king of the south documentary will tell you why he’s style is the way it is I luv it … check out that master p I always feel like somebody’s watching me silk verse and Mia x waz fire
I love Silk I dont even care lol he's got so many good songs. It was refreshing back in the day. It is all over the place but he's kind of skating with it
Lol 😂 silk tha shocker flow, also that Steve Erkel hook “did I do that” it an my fault 🤦♂️, this didn’t age well but in 98’ this was bumping lol 😂. C murder is worth a listen too
People saying he “can’t” rap on beat is just not true. He chose to flow like that. If u listen to any of he’s interviews he says that all the time. It’s his way of standing out. And I heard it’s actually kinda difficult to flow off beat. Lol.
No Limit was a movement when south became recognized in the rap game. I was not really a fan, but give them credit for their hustle. You know they were big when they got Snoop out of his Death Row contract.
The Thing About It The Originator Of That Style Is E-40 He’s Raw One Of My Favorite Rappers 40 Water Is Lyrical Slik First Album Was Definitely A Decent Album
Man I remember those days we all thought Silkk was wack haha ,Master p's brother so he did a good job of putting him on but Silkk just didnt have the skill to back up that hype.
Silkk tha shocker Charge It 2 Da Game is a goat album 😤 whole album can be played on repeat. No Limit was also a acquired taste. Most of the guys had odd flows which separated them from others
Mystikal is one of the most unique rappers ever. No other rapper ever sounded like him.
Coldhard from Crucial Conflict can sound like Mystikal any time he wanted to and make it sound fire!
Keak da Sneak
@@o2ksumbody I love Coldhard but he didn’t sound like a New Orleans James Brown. Mystikal did.
@@ox9218 love Keak but no.
I always thought Petey Pablo was gonna be Mystikal 2.0

Silkk was dope. You gotta hear the underground.
Mystikal Here I go is one of the hardest song u will ever hear
this song must be listen to in a big hot night club to truly feel this song... clubs went CRAZY to this... 💯💯
This used to be the strip club junt!!!!
The first time I heard Silkk and Mystikal was Mystikal feat Silkk The Shocker - Ain’t No Limit which used to come on Rap City on BET
Did you like that video
“He gotta grow on me..” No he don’t 😂
Horse & carriage remix- Camron, big pun, charli-baltimore, silkk the shocker
That’s a very rare jewel! I forgot about that remix!

The west coast had a bunch of "anybody" rappers way before silk. And they had ghost writers too.
Great Reaction !!!!!! Mya ft Silkk,, is tough & Mystikal "the man right here "song is classic,,
Here’s some more Mystikal you gotta check out: “Murder 2” “Unpredictable” “Da Man Right Chea” “U Can’t Handle This”
Proof that vibes and name brand can take you to the moon 🤔
Silkk is an acquired taste. Once you used to it you'll rock with it.
No he wont
Lol it's been over 20 years and I still don't rock with it

Now that I listen to Silkk again I realize he was a bootleg E40. Get into his catalogue before Silkk bro
You have to look at Silkk's Art Of Dialogue interview. He got in his feelings about people putting him on worst rapper lists.
2:52 I'm crying at your reaction LMFAO 😭😂
Ahmad bobbing his head in the beginning like the first song was hard or something while his face wanted to bust out laughing talking about "haaa" 😂😂😂
😂😂
The beat on that first song is very hard. How you feel about silkk rapping is another matter.
Mystikal - here I go
Silkk couldn’t rap on beat to save his life, that’s always been one of the knocks on him. 😂
You didn’t hear him in 94
Still better than these crap rappers
Nah. His out of pocket flow was intentional
He tells the beat to meet me across the street 😅
I'm sure he was doing that on purpose for originality's sake.
LOL. I aint hear this in maddd long. Mannn
Finally u doing something with Mystikal .. when he was with no limit
E-40 has an unorthodox flow too but at least he stays on beat!
Silkk started rapping when he was living in the bay. Thats where his style came from
Yeah E-40 caught the beat. Silk fought the beat 👊
I was like that with E40 like wtf is this dude doin. It wasn't until I got high as hell and turned on in a major way album a buddy left at my house and was like ok. 😅
@@yawdaorb ive heard a ton off beat e40 rhymes. Definitely early in his career
E40 does NOT stay on beat. RZA doesnt always either. Silkk still better than 50% of mumble rappers out today.

It was a ok club banger when it came out
No Limit RULED RAP with an iron fist.labels were SCARED to put out an album the same time a No Limit album got released
Back in the day, they were putting albums out like hotcakes!
Awesome reaction 😂😂! Loved it and the honesty 👍
Mystikal was the James Brown of rap. Also he could rhyme super fast too. Mystikal had the most talent on No Limit.
He was the best one 💯
Fiend n Mac better

I love how the video you watched said "best version"...as if there isn't an instrumental version out there.
You gotta check out his album "the shocker" it's actually good.
Silkk The Shocker raps like a freestyle jazz musician. The beat is just a suggestion to him, not a guideline. You either love it or you hate it.
Please react to more Mystikal‼️🔥🔥🔥
His 1st album The Shocker go hard...I don't give af what anybody say.
