Happy to hear it! I'll be making more expansions available in the coming months. Have you downloaded the Expansion for the Standard Pad Layout? I recently added one to the download page: mailchi.mp/756b6c4f8de2/finger-drum-bible-mpc-expansion BTW, I just noticed that the email field to download the Standard Pad Layout is acting funny and sometimes doesn't show (I'll look into that as soon as I can), If it doesn't show, just refresh the page a couple times. Happy Finger Drumming! and thanks for the nice comment! :)
@@aaronspacefood thanks will check the link. I found two MPC kits so far. I did encounter the email field bug you mentioned but refresh got me situated.
Hello! Perhaps you can try ordering a copy of my newest book "The Finger Drum Genesis" to a local book store using this ISBN#: 9781068960802 I'm testing a different distributor for the new book and it should be available for you in Russia.
@@aaronspacefood I tried to search , unfortunately it is not available in Russia ( Maybe you could send me a book in electronic form? I would pay you with Bitcoins! I really want to learn from your book)
Whew, thats a pretty big question with a few considerations to keep in mind. If you are looking for something that doesn't need to be connected to a computer, I'd definitely recommend taking the plunge and getting into an MPC One (amzn.to/48Wi8kW) or MPC Live (amzn.to/48WdAuX) (if you have the funds). There will definitely be a learning curve with these units, but you won't easily reach any limitations with them, and is a good long term investment in your Finger Drumming/Electronic Music Production Journey. If you don't mind having your controller hooked into your computer, You could get away with more affordable options like the MPD 218 (amzn.to/3vdx6Fq) I hope that helps! Feel free to ask any follow up questions if you have them! :)
Looks like a reMarkable 2. It's a shame he doesn't offer the book in digital format though, since using it the way he is here is so much easier than trying to keep the book open and flat next to you.
It's true that I've chosen not to release the book in a digital format yet, but your request hasn't fallen on deaf ears! I have some plans for future releases that will appeal to the digital readers :) In the meantime, the book binding is quite resilient. I'll usually give the book a firm bent to the page I'm practicing and it stays open quite well. If it decides to be saucy with me, A big sandwich clip does the trick! Thank you for your input! :)
Seems a really good system for learning finger drumming, but I'm really confused by the title. You've drummed out a classic 2-step drum and bass beat. Where is the garage (2 step garage is a different rhythm pattern)? Garage and drum and bass are different things!
Hey! Thanks so much for your question :) It is true that my performance on this video lacked the swing that contributes to the characteristics of a Garage beat (good ear!). Drum & Bass and Garage patterns have a lot in common (not taking into account the sounds and samples used between the genres (ie.The Amen Break)) with tempo and swing variations). This is one of the reasons I included both Garage and Drum & Bass in the title of the video. It should also be recognized that there is a debated difference between UK Garage and Classic Garage, that seems fairly subjective (also open to chatting about this too!) If there are other reasons you believe this rhythm is more Drum & Bass, please let me know! I love hearing granular analysis on genre specifics! If you'd prefer to chat in detail about this beyond the UA-cam comments section, I'd welcome a longer conversation! :) (Just let me know if you're interested and I'll hook you up with my dm details!) Thanks again for your interest and expertise!
I just purchased this book.

Hey! Thanks for the awesome comment and sub! :)
Adding the MPC expansion is super helpful. I was spending a lot of time piddling around with assembling a kit vs actually playing.

Hey, just for info :- Its not gararge, mate .. you pronounce it like garidge. Its a London thing. Nice video though.
