    Everytime I watch one of your videos I see people in the comments complaining about the variety of songs, making matches jokes and saying that you only make useless shit. But I must say that I really appreciate what you do and would like to try everything you teach in your videos, keep doing like that Mr. Gear!

    I was thinking to make one to strip wires. Those tools are a couple of Benjamins. I wasn't sure what material to use. The needles are a great idea. I want to use 18650 batteries.

    00:14 what was that? is it copper or just a string?

    • @syllavr4584

      It's just string

    • @Steppenkater
      @Steppenkater 8 років тому

      it has to be something that doesn't conduct current. It's just there to hold both needles.

    • @Steppenkater
      @Steppenkater 8 років тому

      Nay-r06
      It is a string that is wrapped around both needles. A non-conductive string. It's there to hold both needles. So what is your question again?

    never use a li-po battery for such applications . even a bench supply I wouldn't recommend . this is basically a short circuit without a shunt resistance . pretty dangerous I'd say.

    • @matthewmoodley7110
      @matthewmoodley7110 7 років тому +1

      Sourav R Nath you can buy soldering irons cheaper than the materials used to make this. Depends how shitty you want it

    • @domnulvlad4471
      @domnulvlad4471 7 років тому

      Maybe just to reheat solder for desoldering, along with a solder pump. I am pretty sure that no solder would stick to those needles, so it would be a very impractical soldering "iron".

  • @herkuskaminskas1409
    @herkuskaminskas1409 8 років тому +1

    I always wondered, is it safe to create short circuits like this. I know for a fact that with lithium-ion batteries there is a risk of the battery shorting out and exploding, what about 9volts?

    • @MisterCuddlesworthPT
      @MisterCuddlesworthPT 8 років тому

      Its fine dont worry

    • @surgingcircuits6955
      @surgingcircuits6955 8 років тому +1

      It's basically like connecting a resistor to 9v battery terminals. If you want to drain your battery fast, build and connect this. I made one using a larger paper clip, but it doesn't glow red hot, just drains the batteries! If you do try this or anything like it, keep a finger on the battery to quickly disconnect if/when it gets hot.
