This guitar is available for purchase here: gunsandguitars.bigcartel.com/product/the-firebrad Also, for those concerned that it doesn’t have a volume control, I’ve added an option to add one, just select that option when placing your order.
Honestly, if it had a volume knob I would be in at that price in a second. Dig the simplified look a lot and if you keep the volume kiked the whole time I see why you would do this but I get so much variation with my volume knob ...I need it.
Thanks for the video. Love that you ditched the volume and tone knobs. I use my volume pedal for exactly one song, and if you replaced it with a two position switch that would work. Or I could just use the knob on the amp. Tone knob I experiment with sometimes, but the ones on the amp seem to work better. Correction: obviously I meant volume knob, but there is a pedal that can replace it as well. I'd want a volume knob if I had a tele though. So I could play Hot Rod Lincoln.
@bjdenil If you really want it I can relocate the input jack to the side and put a volume knob in its place for a small fee. Just let me know after you purchase it.
Three cheers for the red, white, and blue! And for the maple leaf. What a collaboration; talk about a dream team! I hope to see more of this kind of thing in the guitar-themed UA-cam community. It just brings us all closer together. And we all win! (And the guitar looks and sounds phenomenal, too!)
If I were gonna do a mod project on a super cheap diy kit, what all would I need to buy? I know I will need to get pickups, tuners, but what else? Would I need to get a new bridge, nut, and a new pickup selector? Or can I get away with just pickups and tuners?
Hey dude! Love your firebird! You have inspired me to start building my own guitars, anyway here is a video on how to make a wooden travel mug I saw little bit ago that helps your old travel mug live on. Hope you like it! 🤘
4:45 The tung oil does make for a smoother neck, but for cosmetics a nice gloss urethane is a much better option, and I can't tell too much of a difference after a while of using guitars with either
Great collaboration, you're both awesome at what you do. I am amazed though that after you told the chef the dinner wasn't right and you recooked it that the chef didn't chase you around the kitchen with a cleaver.
Thank you so much Dan!! My inspiration to build my own custom electric guitar came from Brian May, Arielle, and you! I love music, it's something much greater than yourself, and I hope and pray to do things greater than myself through music... Thanks again and God bless!
I wasn't wild about the paint...BUT the finished build is stunning. Just wow. You just can't find a beautiful finish like that outside of a custom shop. I'm totally the same keep my pots dimed all the time.
Great collaboration with Brad. I watched Brad’s awesome painting video. Between the two of you that guitar looks killer. I was a little worried when you were doing the grain filling. I had to laugh when you called Brad to see if he had any last minute instructions for you before you started “painting” the guitar with the roller and brush. Thank God Brad offered to paint it.
been waiting for this so long! it turned out absolutely amazing i love it! just imagine being able to build such awesome guitars out of affordable kits and customize them.
I must admit that when you first talked about a reverse upside down firebird, I envisioned a super wonky looking ,almost joke of a guitar. Man , I was way off. That thing is pretty dang sweet Dan. The trimming of the body, routing for semi hollow, and the new top with the "Nike" holes is amazing design, and makes it look as though it is a guitar that Gibson should've been making already. Brad did a great job on the finish as well, and it definitely looks AMERICAN to me, and this is AMERICA so we'll call it an AMERICAN inspired design. Great job on the hardware too. I like the simple controls layout, and even though I'm not much of a Bigsby fan, it fits well on this guitar and compliments the rest of the hardware running down the middle where the silver color is. You already know all this of course. Just saying you did a great job with the design and the whole build , and it sounds awsome also. Just messing with you about the "Nike " holes. They fit the body nice and look great.
Heya Dan! I was wondering, you could have used a 5 way blade switch for the picups and then ditch the on-off switch for a push-pull volume pot, which turns either the neck or the bridge on. This will still allow you all the current pickup combinations while also having the ability to solo the middle pickup and control the volume. But hey, that's just my 2 cents. I really respect the amount of work you put into it! Greetings from the Netherlands and thanks for making a Dutch guitar lol!
I'm ghetto fabulous and I ended up with a couple of guitar necks and I used used skateboards man I start building these guitars they come out pretty cool actually
Excellent build! I've been watching this one since the beginning and it looks great! I was bothered by the lack of volume at first, but I rarely touch mine on my guitars with passive setups. I love the bigsby, they're the best. Can't wait to see what you make next!
I’m more of a fan of the traditional Firebird shape. But this non-reverse looks really cool. I’m looking at making another Telebird this time I may consider the non reverse after seeing this. BTW I use s 5 way superswitch for a strat with a push pull to determine if the middle position is the middle pickup or the neck and bridge. That works really well.
No idea if you or anyone else will read this be what EXACTLY did you use for that middle pickup? I’ve been trying to figure out how the middle pickup of a Gibson style guitar works. From what I’ve read online you want to get a slightly hotter neck pickup for your middle pickup. I know In the video you said you use a set of dragonfire pickups but how does the middle pickup relate to the neck pickup? Thank you so much to anyone who reads this, I really appreciate it.
Could you do a mini build by making a ukelele? I love this series and I'd love to see your take on something so different from your normal builds. And hey they're even cheaper than the cheapest guitar kit😀
Amen Dan!!! One of the best guitars I've ever seen. It's more than enough American. Tunes and tones were excellent. The Bible says, A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance and doeth good like a medicine.
Great conclusion to this series of videos! Turned out absolute beautiful! I really liked the paint work Brad did, but that neck turned out just that little bit better with the stain and oil... I actually really liked the sound of the pickups, I'm going to have to look at Dragonfire for an upgrade on my strat.. Great content and thanks for posting! ✌🏼

The only thing that I would have done differently is put the input jack on the side of the body.
@bjdenil If you really want it I can relocate the input jack to the side and put a volume knob in its place for a small fee. Just let me know after you purchase it.
@@GunsandGuitars - I would only ask you to do that if I were going to buy it and if I buy one more guitar, she's gonna annihilate me.
3:45 don't complain, you are gunSANDguitars, it's in your name...
Nice work on the neck Dan. That’s looking awesome fully assembled!
You guys made an amazing build here!

That guitar just turned out amazing! Probably my favorite looking guitar of yours 🇳🇱
Haha thanks man! But really you can thank Brad for that
If you shot this guitar wit a desert eagle did u fire on a firebird wit a bird?
I built an offset tele style guitar and put Dragon Fire tele rail pickups in it and it sounds pretty good
Great build! It sounds fantastic and looks like it sounds. Very cool collaboration, a lot of fun to watch. Thanks to both of you!
I love how every video is a showcase of cool products. It's soooo cool...
And i love the on/off switch. Simple. Efficient.
Amazing build!! Great job Dan!!! Also, good call with sending it off to get that awesome paint and finish.
Thanks man!
Thank you so much for the discount at bargain musician!!! Just ordered an explorer kit for $137!!!
That’s awesome man! Have fun with it!
You're great teacher and I love your videos so much. Everything I know about guitar builds I learned from you. Thanks so much and God bless you, Dan.
I've been whining for months to see this guitar completed. Especially with the dutch flag, this guitar is something special. Awesome job!
That paint job... Daaaaamn. The whole thing is amazing!
Thanks carlos

Thanks worship geek! I agree, we need more collabs like this
That guitar was sounding Awesome. And was one of the best looking I've seen. Thanks dan
Thanks Michael!
I just got a reverse body and three mini humbuckers. Thanks for the ideas!!!!
I like the simple controls...I try to do that on my projects as well...thanks for the videos.
That paint job is amazing!!
Thanks randy!
Man that thing came out amazing!!
Thanks max!
Holy hell that is the only firebird ove ever been in love with. I normally hate the style of firebirds but wow. Wow. That is. Unbelievable
This might be your best sounding guitar yet!!! And that new amp rocks a definite improvement too!!!
Please do an explorer guitar kit
Wow that entire build turned out amazingly awesome! Nice job to you and Brad!
Thanks man!
That guitar is stunning! I watched all the associated videos with it and am just amazed.
Thanks so much for following this build series!

Looks and sounds great. I'm tempted, but no volume or tone control? That's just chaos!
I’ve added an option to add a volume control if you’re really interested in purchasing it.
I personally use a volume pedal instead of a knob so I can keep both hands on the strings
@@GunsandGuitars Nice! Less stuff to grab EM noise. Stomp box cases can offer better shielding, anyway.
Good night nurse!! Your playing just amazes me every time I listen. And the build is gorgeous!!
Thanks Cameron!
Great collaboration, you're both awesome at what you do. I am amazed though that after you told the chef the dinner wasn't right and you recooked it that the chef didn't chase you around the kitchen with a cleaver.
Watched this video for the third time now. I think it's time for another epic build!
Go for a contigo travel mug. They are great and don't leave plus lifetime warranty!
The guitar is great. You and Brad did a great job.
Thank you so much Dan!! My inspiration to build my own custom electric guitar came from Brian May, Arielle, and you!

@@GunsandGuitars I sent you an email, if you have the time to take a look!
Thanks again!
You inspired me and I bought one of the DIY kits and made my bass guitar. So much to learn but it was fun. Thank you!

The finished guitar looks great Dan! This might be your best one yet.
Thanks man!
@@GunsandGuitars No worries! I'll be looking out for the next video :)
Love it. Yours and Brad's are my favorite build channels.
Thanks Allen!
That finish is terrific
One of the coolest guitars you have done, it looks and sound very good!
Thanks so much!
That is one of the koooolest guits I've ever seen!!! Killer job to you both!!!
Wow this has to be your best build ever 🎸🎸🎸
That thing turned out awesome! Beautiful paint and a great tone!. Love it!
Thanks Dakota!
You built urself a real jewel this time man !! Absolutely gorgeous !!! Man do I have a long way to go....thanks for the videos !!! Love ...
Thanks Gerry!
Nice! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this one. Turned out really great
Thanks man!
Hey, I know you’ve done a P before, but I was wondering what you could do with two Lollar overwound p pickups, making a double P...?
Great collaboration with Brad. I watched Brad’s awesome painting video. Between the two of you that guitar looks killer. I was a little worried when you were doing the grain filling. That thing is insane! Love what you did with it.
Thanks Ryan!
Puts me in mind of red white and blue. The free bird firebird! Lol. Looks and Sounds AMAZING. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!
I got a set of Phat 50's pickups from Dragonfire for my '91 G&L Strat. I highly recommend them, for the price, Dragonfires can't be beat.
You should try converting a bolt on kit to a set neck. Nothing beats the feel of an ultra access neck.
Your build came out looking and sounding fantastic.
Thanks Tom!
Been waiting for this one for a while!! Looks so sick, my guy!
That.
Turned.
Out.
GORGEOUS!
Sounds great, too!
Wow thanks Paul!!!
That is the exact colour fade that's on my bands new EP cover, I might have to get a bass with that finish now...
are you, if you haven't yet, showing a build and review video of the double neck guitar/bass combo? i've been debating on buying it.
Man! that thing turned out sweet Dan! Cheers Brad 4 the paint job bro...
It turned out excellent Dan and Brad
Thanks David!
The back is SOOOOO beautiful!! Great job as always Dan!
Thanks Alex!

I love dragonfire pickups! Thanks for getting them to hook us up with a promo code. You rock Dan!
Love to see the 2 best guitar channels on UA-cam collaborating
You should try a 10 way freeway blade switch it does everything.
Looks and sounds great! Great job, Dan.
Thanks Chris!
The guitar came out sick looking! Love it bro!!!
Thanks Jason!

See? I prefer a volume pedal when I’m playing more expressive stuff, that way I can keep both hands on my strings!
wow, it sounds as good as it looks, and it looks incredible.
Wow thank you!
Wow, this guitar both looks and sounds absolutely stunning 👍

0:28 I have a Coping saw, Backsaw, Crosscut saw, Hand planes, Chisels and a tiny bit of sandpaper, along with other hand tools.
I bet you can do it, it’s be interesting to see you try anyway!
Kaish Locking tuners work amazing, the ratio is very good.
I’ll check them out!
Loved the channel colab with this guitar.
Also, you're playing has really advanced since you're first videos
Awesome guitar, awesome build, and awesome video! Well worth the wait!
Is there a video on the amazing looking base over your shoulder on the left of the screen.
Beautiful! This has been a fun build to follow.
any way we can all see one of those headless tomtop kits soon?
If you get a little true oil run on your rosewood freeboard what's the best way to remove? Also a existing body paint? It's red cherry sg paint job.

So awesome to see this finally finished!!!
Flippin' epic!!!
You should do a flying v next!!! Or maybe a 12 string!!!!
Thanks for the suggestions!
Such a beautiful guitar!
Nice ! Easy to love a Firebird !
