why did you have what looks like a piece of paper towel inside your socket when putting the top bolt back in @ 3:31 in the video. you didn't use it when you were taking it off. I have never seen this and am curious. is it for more grip on the bolt?
I have an 09, 4-cilinder G6 and there is a pipe covering one of the bolts of the thermostat housing. I am guessing that is the thermostat bypass pipe. I have no idea how to get to that bolt.
Hey guys, my heat is only working when I’m driving as soon as I stop driving it blows cold. My thermostat also works when it decides it wants to. Can someone help me out with what it might be?😅
While this series of videos is helpful, they still leave me scratching my head at times. If you take the time to clean up the mating surface of thermostat at the block side, why would you skip cleaning up the water neck side? Surely it would have crud on its surface also which could cause a leak. DIY'ers, don't skip the details.
I can barely tell what you are doing or where the parts your working on are would be better if you showed us the placement alot farther out then so up close

thank you for the video. i wasn't sure if there was a gasket for the housing AND the housing, or just one, now I know. 2010 G6 2.4L FFV
did you took anything else out of the way before you started taking the hose and thermostat housing?

Does the bumper have to be removed to drain coolant?
Can you do a video of remove & install of starter of this vehicle?

Definitely not the location of my thermostat, 08 G6 3.5 liter
What size engine is this for? There are two v6 and one 4 cylinder for 2008
He's got the ecotech label on the engine cover visible, it's the 4. I have the same thing.

So it should be snug when putting the new one on. I replaced mine and it wasn't a snug fit
So the thermostat is at the bottom hose ??
Not for a 2007 g6 3.5l
Exactly I got a V6 3500

If no one can tell that’s the 2.4l y’all shouldn’t be replacing your thermostat

This doesn’t work for the convertible
Not the same on all G6 motors/years
Totally different on a 2008 so your caption is wrong
It is correct for other years.
This skipped so many steps it wasn't helpful at all. Tires are off, I have no steering wheel, but thanks anyway
