Gary Hilton's boss used to be a friend of mine. I've not seen him in several years, but he told me that Gary had worked for him for about 10 years, and he had no idea what an evil man he was. You just never know that a serial killer may be in your midst. I consider myself fortunate that I never ran up against him. I especially enjoyed hearing that they took the death penalty off the table to get Meredith's remains recovered, then they gave him the death penalty for Sherry's murder. Excellent outcome there.

Anybody with the slightest hint of intuition and/or situational awareness could tell by looking this man in the eye that he's missing a few peices upstairs and is potentially a murderous psychopath.

I have hiked Pisgah forest several times. I would never do it alone or without something to protect myself. It’s very remote, vast and scary. The rise of murderers in national forests is what stopped me from hiking national forests. Sad, but true. RIP to all his victims.

I used to walk all over in my area all the woods, and creeks I would explore with my kids. For years we explored all over. This particular day was hot as blazes, and so I took my labs along, two of them, they both weighed about 100 lbs. In all our forays we had never once seen a single person. Here I gathered nuts and acorns from some particular tree, it was about 2 miles into a little woodland , I had explored before. Way back in there we are doing our typical chattering and running around, and .....boom!! I run into 3 drunk rednecks, camping way back out there.
I smiled and said hi, but I had a bad feeling and so did my kids. My dogs came running up and stood by. I said I had to get home and cook dinner for my husband, and we hiked back out of there. I did make some idle chit chat, I acted like there was nothing strange at all, about meeting 3 middle aged day drunks, camping way out in the woods. Happens everyday. Wished them good luck, they just laughed. Creepy, this encounter weighed on my mind, my gut never lies, I trust it and the boys felt it too, That I had put my boys at risk, it hurt my heart, I felt very stupid and blessed to get out of that situation, . I never took my boys any further than my back woods after that. I feel like my dogs made a difference..
It makes me really angry women cant do this, I know i cant. It's not safe anymore. I could take my dog, and nothing says i wont hike again anyway, if I am able. At a certain point somethings gonna get me. But I know the risks. Now there's Coyotes too. I am old and stubborn. But the danger is real.
Every mom ought to be able to do this with their kids. Sure you can have a big dog and carry a gun. But I don't want to kill anyone. But those were good years I cherish now. I dont know what I would be willing to do, to have that with my kids.
These evil monsters shouldn't be able to rule our forests and woods .

I live in north GA and we use to go up to a little town called Helen and spend the day by the river my husband would trout fish and me and our two boys would look for adventure and cool rocks, I was seated with my back to wooden steps that took u from the road downtown the river my boys were out of site and I was reading when my oldest son yelled for me and was running to show me a rock he found and the moment my son yelled mom a older man bald step around me from the steps and jumped into the river. It scared me because I did not hear him and I should have. It was so unsettling that It stuck in my mind. That was summer of 07 and then January 08 is when Meredith got murdered and when I saw this man I knew immediately it was this man I believe my son saved me that day.

I solo road tripped 49 states, prior to it being cool, and my friends always ask how I didn't run into a serial killer.
I wonder myself as I was out there alone with just a tent and my dog and the basics. People I'd meet would tell me I'm brave and I never understood. (The beauty of youth)...now I fully understand how dangerous it was.
    I wouldn't do that now.
I'm happy I did all that, and I am grateful I never met a dangerous person out there on the road.

Yep, I met this dude at Justus Creek on the A.T. in 2005. He had been parked and camping in his van at the Cooper's Gap road crossing on the A.T.
He totally stalked my cousin and I to the Gooch Mtn shelter and used his dog as interference to get close to us.
After talking to us for about 10 minutes at the shelter, including mentioning how he disliked other hikers who hiked with dogs, because they don't properly protect their dog's feet,
he pulled out a knife and cleaned his dog's paws with the knife about 5 feet from me. It was creepy and my cousin and I both read his vibes like a book and were on high alert.
He then turned and left quickly after he mentioned that we would not be alone in the shelter for the night and that 8 guys hiking would soon be there. While we were trying to figure out how he knew that info, not a mere five minutes after he left, those 8 guys showed up and that probably saved our lives or at least from a possible attack.
He knew the lay of the land and all the other game trails in the area and had totally stalked all of us. Including timing our progress through the area.
Except none of us knew it at the time.
It wasn't until he used his dog to get close to Meredith in 2008 and his picture came out that I made the connection. Chilling.
I think about Meredith all the time and pray she has peace.

My partner and I live extremely close to the appalachian trail in TN and NC, and we hike it often. For the most part I can say it's safe, even more so when thru hikers begin the journey in March. But we have experienced one scary encounter, a couple of meth heads set up camp near the trail head and decided to steal equipment from a day hiker truck. The day hiker returned that night and shot into their tent with a handgun. We didn't know about any of this until we heard the gunshots from our tent less than a quarter of a mile away. Needless to say, we hiked out that same night. We are both licensed handgun carriers now, and refuse to hike without them.

This is WHY capital murder carreid the dealtn penalty most places when I was a child in the 50s. I am Texan....I saw eletrocution press coverings in the 50s on B&W TV...they didnt show the gorey details of course, but my grandfather told me what was happening.
My grandfather apparently loved true crime because he kept a stash of detective magazines under his bed....black and white photos on the cover of bloody scenes mostly Italian gangsters shot on the street I would sneak a peak whenever I could...they were scary.
Fast forward to grad school in the 70s and there I was at the most prestigious university in the midwest studying clinical psych and personality theory of killers.
I read every single book Ann Rule wrote as she wrote them. Fast forward to the 1990s and there I am in a southern state teaching Behavioral Psych on contract from my university at the largest Federal training facility for national law enforcement in the world....I was a professor at the state flagship university.
The facility was just like a large state university campus, but with shooting ranges, car tracks to teach high speed driving skills, mock cities to teach building clearance etc.
I was a friend of the director of the facility...his wife was a former military officer amd I was president of the board of the nonprofit organization she served on. My daughter had a crush on his son in high school. Amazing where life takes you.
This man was very scary....severe blows to the head can cause personality change.
The most important area of your head to protect in a fall is the lower back of your skull just before your spine that is where your breathing is controlled. Swelling in that part of the brain is fatal , a closed head injury there creates bleeding and swelling thereby closing off blood supply to the area eventually...you are going to die your breathung will stop and with no circulating oxygented blood you heart willl stop.
If you can think fast enough falling down the stairs throw a hand up there to the lower back of you skull to protect the area and you will likely live, You will end up with a broken hand but that is better than being dead. Blows in different areas create different results....your skull is precious...take care of it.....
Frankly I believe in the death penalty... there are far too many "deals" . Apparently many murderers DO value life....THEIRS. Take it from them if they deserve it ...if they took someone else's life, perfectly fine with me.
The GBI did an increible job here, theybare good guys....that man could have gone on and on ...like so mamy California serial killers have done...I KNOW there is a correlation between numbers of serial killers operating in a state and the attitude via the legal system re punishment for murder...there certainly IS correlation but causation????Who knows? Seems to be a possibility to me...but then Im a scientist of human behavior, so I ponder weird things like that. I know it is said the death penalty isnt a deterrent that has always been the argutment to eliminate it but you hear of very FEW murderers who refuse to appeal a death pemalty verdict in a state that DOES enact the penalty...very VERY few murderers want to die....those that do manage to accomplish it...and that DOES happen...but it is rare. So Im not so sure it ISNT a deterrent.

It was not accurate to say that Danny's demon spirits are inside the body of a person possess no the latch onto a certain spot where your neck and back join that is a spot on the body that's recognizes super important in many parts of the world. They basically hang on to your back and steàr you threw a bad life this can be a bad Spirit to if you ever suspect that you have a bad energy attached to your aura or hanging on your back you will have a feeling of heaviness brain fog and weird types of pain and negative things will occur in your life one after the other it is possible to get virtually anything removed and have you walk out fresh and clean with that thing in the garbage essentially so there's always total hope if you're willing to take the steps you need to to clean every invading bit of energy off your astral body.

Going as far to say "he couldnt bring himself to kill the dog, which is very significant". While i do agree its significant but it has nothing to do with his inability to blah blah blah. Its because the dog cant tell on him. He isnt killing people for these complex deep reasons. Hes doing it to simply eliminate witnesses. If he thought the dog could tell on him i promise he would have no issue whatsoever killing it as well.

And loved to hike and camp. Im glad i hiked and challenged my fear. You cant think about these stories when you are out in the wilds.

I did 45 day's solitary in Leon Co Jail with the only other inmate in solitary was Gary Hilton because I grew up in the same neighborhood and went to school with the under Sheriff (head jailor) who was less than straight in his dealings with anyone he percieved as not friendly with his authority. I had stopped by a club to give a ride to a friend home at 2:00 a.m. Two drunken women fighting in the parking lot as I watched brought the T.P.D. and after being beaten by a rookie cop for refusing to get on the ground, with 6 other uniformed cop's laughing and encouraging him the truck I was driving was searched and a supposed roach was found in a cigarette package crumpled up on the floor, I don't smoke. Set up. Tallahassee is corrupt with power. And yes my schoolmate who became the appointed head Sheriff was not reelected.

I have been in manic/psychosis states many times first starting at age 20 and i would even begin to have homicidal dreams of strangling women, after being cheated on by a bf i also had much adolescent trauma built up over the years i guess the cheating on me etc and my mind just snapped tge stress started this bipolar manic depressive disorder, mone comes with psychosis hallucinations homicidal thoughts and urges back then i was very manic but it got bad to the point of trying to really hurt myself and fantasized and wanted to get back at the woman who got with my bf
I was very sick mentally spiritually opressed demonically suffering with sleep Demoniac paralysis for a long time, fear like you wouldn't believe. Im definitely not a serial killer im saved from that inner rage that surfaces from my past, could he also have bipolar manic depressive episodes not that everyone with bipolar could kill. Looking back at this im like what the hell that wasn't me im too nice im not a hateful person however that bipolar manic episode psychosis really i was not in reality i was straddling in and out of this world if you know what i mean.
I do think that people can definitely be demonically possessed and opressed as i was in a long spiritual battle within that nearly took my life forever. However i got free through the love and grace and mercy of the lord Jesus Christ who saved me from the pits of hell id created for myself and wow .....i think many of these serial killers would be demonically opressed or possessed by Demoniac darkness and evil has overcome them by then.
God is real and so is SATAN who comes to steal and kill and destroy.
The human mind and human extent of evil is fascinating yet frightening to me.

130,000 came into Maryland as well. Heck the Puritans weren't wanted either, especially after their participation in an English Civil war. In fact, many of the common immigrants to the American colonies were in debtor prisons or beholden to indentured servitude. That changed in 1783, when the revolution was won. Britain turned to Australia after that.
