Thank you so much for this review. I'm coming from almost zero knowledge of modern controllers and aio's and been watching countless videos to try to navigate this landscape. This is by far the most informative and easy to understand!
I enjoyed the breakdown of the RX3. I am a Pioneer/Rekordbox user and thought about going standalone because I can't afford 2 CDJ and a mixer. Even though the $2K is up there, compare to 2 CDJ 30 and a 900 Nexus mixer, it is still a good price. I have the DDJ 800 and love it but it is time to really go stand alone especially when more clubs and festivals will have the 3000 as their standard CDJ. I have to be ready.
I have tried played on Pioneer DJ XDJ XZ Pioneer DJ XDJ RR Pioneer DJ XDJ RX2 Pioneer DJ XDJ RX3 I don't recommend XDJ RR and RX2 I recommend XDJ XZ and XDJ RX3 And i highily recommend XDJ RX3. My experince with RX3 is that, you have everything you need, it is like a DJM900 and CDJ2000 Nexus. What i can say is, if you really wanna DJ, this is a good option, if you can't afford DJM900 or DJM2000 and CDJ 2000 or 3000. RX3 have everything you need like a DJM900 when it comes to effects like Noise, Flanger, Filter, Reverb, Gate, Jet. etc.
@@DJKen0613 RX3 is closer to CDJ 3000s than the XZ is. The new AZ is the new standalone flagship and very similar to CDJ 3000s while still having the XDJ identity
Great review, can you advise if the pitch control clicks into place at -0+ ? I know this happens on the RX2 but didn’t on the XZ. I know I can increase + or - on the other deck to compensate but it’s a bug bear of mine lol
I think this controllers is a great. but a few thinsg i don't like. 1) the position for the usb stick. looks like it can be mistakenly bump off while getting busy on this machine. 2) the jog wheel lil to small. 3) the screen should have been collapsible for ease of transporting
1. Fair, though it's not different than a set of CDJs or most standalones. (I like the way Denon handles this on their larger players, by tucking it under the front side.) 2. I found the wheels to be quite lovely tbh. Very smooth, and don't feel small unless you are directly comparing to CDJs. To be fair, I don't scratch on them. Certainly, Pioneer wanted to strike a balance with size here... or 18:29 would've been a much longer segment! 🤣 3. 100% - this trend of sticky-outy large screens makes me nervous. An easy way to reduce the ruggedness of a portable device.
Brather.... It is a very well equipped controller but the price is to wish for. But, besides this one and the Rane One, and the Pioneer ddj1000 SRT...which one would you recommend for all types of genre? Appreciate your input 👍 Much blessings 🙌 🎛🎤🎧😎
Hello, can you tell me if theres some way of Bar countdown to the next memory cue? Some pioneer gear has it, i cant find info on it when it comes ti the RX3
Are you able to change/edit the release effect pads @14:00 from their preset effects? And if so how? Because some of those preset fx are trash (Long brake and Ducking im looking at you)
Hi Bro. I hope you can help. I have an RX3 and have recorded 3 mixes. I can play all three on the hardware itself in the recordings folder but when I look at the USB files on my MAC/Phone etc. The folder is empty. Why is this?
you can use an extender cable. would you say the stick would be safer if it was in the back or the edge, protruding against potentially other hardware? i think alot of thought went into it, and all dj controllers i know of has USB inputs right there on top
Perhaps, though I wouldn't say it's any different than a set of CDJs. (I'm a big fan of the way Denon handles this on their full-size players, by tucking it away under the front side.)
No. I played on the RX2 which has the same USB position. A DJ brought him to a House party. About 5 DJs played on it with no issues. The RX3 is an upgrade version.
Came into some money so ive ordered an XDJ-RX3. Its a long way off my Pioneer DDJ SB3 i think i might find it quite difficult. Realy love the touch screen though. Do you still need to use a laptop with Rekordbox or Serato Pro anyone ??????
It comes with record box in the mixer,,,,,,, just download your tunes onto a usb and off you go… But you have to down load your music from a laptop with record box , then download onto your usb Hope this helps
I want to se the RX3 to stream on twitch, I stilll want to DJ as standalone without using any software on the computer but I need to send audio through the computer into OBS.. can this be done with the RX3? Does anyone know?
played on 1 and although i like the new features, usb stick is in a bad position, also i noticed a couple of times my mixes stopped because my elbow touches the right jog wheel when scrolling through the screen,so for me....its a no !!!
There is an EPIC FAIL in this gear!! The browserlist of the folder does NOT show BPM and KEY no more like on the RX2... Selecting the next track becomes almost undoable this way (except if all tracks are in one BPM and one Key which they are never)...!!! BPM and Key only show after 'loading' a track... Epic fail!!!

What about XZ? I thought XZ is even more similar to the club layouts.

Lovely review!! Loved the history of the players too!!
Thanks for a great review. Pre-ordered mine....
Thanks, Boss! 🙏
Excellent review. Thank you.
Appreciate it, Jason!
When will it be in stock🤔
thanks for reviewing!
Whoa!!!!! I’ve been looking through UA-cam videos on a standalone system, loved yours, and I know Christian from Cryztal Grid! Small world 😮

Hey Lee, sorry for the delay. Yes - it indeed has a center detent, and you feel a click at zero... though it is very light.
Great overview. I am assuming with Serato support now in effect, one can stream with the partnered services and an internet connection? Thanks
Placed my preorder @The DJ Hookup. Hopefully will ship soon 🙏🏼
Mission complete! Now TDJH can unlock me from their basement! 🤣

If you use plug in with laptop can you access Beatport link?
Seems like a great machine! (But, Isn't the USB stick likely to get broken in that position?)

@@DjTecniq Nice so a 4 TB drive hooked up to a hub that's connected to a laptop possibly ? Could you do it that way or how would you do it ?
Do you all have available cases for this unit on djhookup?

You still need a computer to prepare your music, yes.
And if you want to use Serato, you have to use a computer of some sort.

Is the screen made of glass or plastic?

What’s a better option in the Pioneer line not overly expensive?
