Over 30 years ago I had my best day trout fishing ever. Went through so many salmon eggs. Also memorable was after eating lunch at some bar up there and resuming fishing and had an emergency. Dropped waders on the shoreline, leaned against a tree and nature took its course. It was an Orange mudslide
Lamson liquid reel? Running the same on my setup. Still have yet to ever fish the flat brook and i live in NJ. Looked like a nice run you fished and your perseverance paid off! 😊
I have been fishing that pool for year, never knew it had a name. The flatbrook is one of my favorite places in the world. It's too bad it's in NJ nice video
Fished Flatbrook when I was young, often with a fly rod or ulta light with an Alcedo Micron reel. Enjoyed both. Getting back there to do it again is on my bucket list. Glad that area remains much as it was
I can totally relate to the relief of catching a fish after grinding it out like that! 😂 sometimes trout fishing can be hard. Especially into the season a little bit. Awesome video!
Thanks for the encouragement! I do plan to keep it up. Making these videos has been a ton of fun. I'm already starting to plan some trips in the Spring.
Trout can be very finicky and I've had a few break me off as well.....way to stick it out and finally land a beautiful Rainbow! Persistence pays off 👊 🎣
Nice video and nice fish! I usually keep the rod angle a little lower and to the side to take the energy more...check out the guys from Orvis on how to fight a fish.
Great tip, and one that I tend to forget in the moment. I've watched a ton of Tom Rosenbauer videos and find them very helpful. I haven't fished in many years and just got back into it this summer. I have a lot to learn and re-learn.
Thanks! I love the Pocketwater Glass rod, but I just got it this year and didn't get much of a chance to use it. It's a 3 wt that I got for fishing smaller streams. I'll probably use it a lot more in the Spring. The 5 wt Double L is great and I've had it for over 20 years.

Congrats on the tiger, you’re welcome. ;)
Very realistic fishing. Love to see it
Nice 👌

I almost always see people there so I usually skip it. It's a great spot that holds a lot of fish. They can be pretty finicky though.
@@angledadventures5382 my best luck has always been the early morning in the spring. Fall I couldn't catch a fish in that pool if you threw it at me.

It's definitely a beautiful area and makes me forget I'm in NJ. Even on days I get skunked... like yesterday lol... I just enjoy being out there.
try McMichael's Creek in PA, nice size trout there.

Thanks. A bit of bad luck and bad weather definitely played a part. All part of the fishing experience I guess. Thanks for watching!
Felt your frustration! Keep up the videos!

Brook and brown trout both spawn in the fall
Where is that hole located on flat brook? I live local and I’m not familiar with it.

You got that right. It's also why I love them so much. If they were easy to catch, it wouldn't be so fun.

Congrats on the catch. How do you like the Bean fiberglass rod? I have the 5 weight, great all around rod.

That is actually a Fallfish...not a Chub.
Thanks for the clarification. I've always just called those silvery fish chubs, but I believe you are correct.
