One thing you can do is keep your hvac serviced and use better filters to keep the air clean. You can install a UV light into your hvac to help break down other things in your vents to help keep the space clean as well. Otherwise, just clean regularly and if you have water damage, dry it out. You’ll be fine if you clean👍

This was super interesting! We are hoping to buy next year so I'm going to have to review all of your mold videos again prior to make sure we have a good inspector doing the right things. I know our rental has mold and water damage and I don't want to go through this again (not diagnosed CIRS, but the long symptom list describes me so much).

Some say a year, others say two. It will really depend on your individualized needs and how you respond. Some people can move in right away.

This is a bit insane. Every house has some degree of mold, and the whole drywall thing is pretty hard to avoid. Humans have lived in mold for YEARS. Can you do a podcast on how the fear of mold and consuming all this content can make people sicker because they're living in terror?

It does seem insane until you’re the one who is so very sick from mold and its byproducts. I agree there can be a fear based approach, but then there is wisdom that we all need to use, especially those of us who are genetically susceptible to not being able to tolerate mold. It’s real and it is effecting SO many people.

Humans have lived with vegetable oil and corn syrup and lead and cigarettes etc.. Because it's so daunting doesn't mean it's not a health concern. The mold in the home has no natural predators. It's not natural or ancient or 'nothing new'. Also just because most people aren't allergic to peanuts doesn't mean peanut allergies are fake. The mold affects some people differently or it hits some people harder.

It’s about being clean and aware of your home. If you haven’t thought about these things, it’s hard to keep them clean. If it frightens you then maybe you should reassure yourself by looking into it. 👍

I’ll add that paints and sealants have added antifungals starting in the 70s in the US, which have caused stronger more toxic molds to have to survive. We used to exist with more benign strains.
