I love coming back to these older videos. Im not gonna lie, I felt attacked when y'all said we all had injector denial because I'm there RIGHT NOW. lmao
I bought a 2005 LLY for $4500. Been sitting for 4 years. 154,000 miles. Cleaned the tank, changed all the fluids and filters, two hot batteries and it runs great.
At the moment I have both. In my back yard is a 2001 Chevrolet 2500HD Crew cab, 8.1, Allison. She has 298,000 miles, stock engine and trans. I've had to replace the lifters twice and push rods once, one fuel pump, 2 alternators. It did well towing 16,000 pounds for work but unloaded, I averaged 7 to 8 mpg. Also, motor mounts are a real problem. I also have a 2014 Ram 2500, 4x4, crew cab, 6.7. This truck is new to me, so I'll have to see how it goes. I'm already excited about 16mpg and lots of power.
I pulled my injectors and sent them to Huckstorf Diesel in WI, they cleaned he injectors & installed brand new injector tips (the main part that goes bad on the injectors) & tested them then I reinstalled them on the LMM ('08), worked fantastic.
I have a 04 lb7 I did sac 65s and a 10mm cp3 with a airdog. DT 64mm turbo and built trans...70k miles later on the big tune and she still rippin' and hurtin' feelings!
Project Blue Biscuit looking a little rough. Interested to see if the rust infection trumps performance upgrades. His attempts to break those tires loose reminds me of my Yukon XL 2500. It has the Vortec 8100 and still produces good power. However, it has 4.11 gears in it. So, it'll sit there and do some wheel spinage but not smoke the tires!!! Like the truck!!! Bought my 02 crew cab 4x4 LB7 fully loaded duramax max with 5th wheel, goose neck and reese hitch for $4,000. Has been running perfect since I bought it just over a year ago.

They told the dealers, but didn't inform the owners. I found out about it on a diesel forum. Called 4 dealers that didn't want to touch it. Found one in Greenville NC (150 miles away) that knew how to work the warranty. They did it for free and gave me a 3 day loaner. The became my repair shop for the next few years until my tech retired. 2002-04 7years 120k miles was the warranty extension.
sweet! just picked up an 01 ccsb 2 weeks ago for 3500! Quite happy considering I almost bought an lbz with 55k miles on it a few days before that for plenty more. lol
Is it “making oil” yet? That’s the most important point to make with LB7 injectors and you didn’t mention it ....once it’s making oil you need to replace them immediately as your washing down the cylinders and thinning the oil. Great video guys.
Definitely keeping up with this build. Not long got an 02 Chevy 2500 with 180k. Fixing to put a lift pump, cat filter, and SAC style 45 overs coming up in November.
I hot my 04 for free, guy just wanted it gone. 435,000 miles and all it needed was injectors, changing injectors on one of these trucks are what my nightmares are made of, lol and I work and semis for a living.
Do the lb7 injector replacement, there’s no videos on UA-cam currently about replacing those. I replaced mine last year with no instructions or videos, you can get it done but it would really help to have a detailed video.
Great buy. Looks like mine but mine's a crew. Please do a video a LB7 injector as who knows when my injectors will go out. They get the truck from Manheim? I used to be a dealer out of CA, fun days at the auction but headaches dealing with customers.
I just bought an 06 Chevy Silverado 3500 with the LBZ with 281k running strong. What would you say the first upgrade I should do to it. I’m thinking the egr delete. What would be a good egr delete?
Welp...I paid $3k for my 122k mile, 2001 Silverado 4x4 Crew Cab Dually a few days ago. I am very excited about my first diesel truck. Not new to diesel. Just never owned my own. Yes, I have my work cut out for me. Previous "shady-tree" mechanic ran off with the injectors and abandoned his obligation of repairing the truck. I wonder how many bags of meth he bought with the sale of the stolen injectors. LOL...Anywho...I am very happy with my purchase and am looking forward to driving it. My plans are to daily drive it, work, play and everything in between. Thanks for sharing this video. Best regards, folks

I love the exterior color of that LB7, BTW, I think the reason it was sold for only 3 grand is because the injectors were on their way out judging by all that haze.
You need wheel spacers 2” in the rear bad lol . That’s a new video on that it’s a pretty big deal on what kind to run !! I have them @ 600+ and their made by rough country . Your truck looks good 😉
Doesn't really seem like a bad truck for 3k, especially for a farm/work truck. I got my 02 silverado gasser rcsb 2 years ago for $2200 with 113k miles with no rust or mechanical problems at all except a big dent in the driver door. Still runs like a champ today I don't baby it lol. I think GM did a great job making their older trucks (88-06) reliable
LB7s are the only way to go besides an LBZ imo. I bought my 04 simply cause it was Arrival Blue. The first time I saw the color I was determined to get a truck that color and if I haden gotten the LB7 it would've been and LBZ for me.
I live in Minnesota and winter is coming I will be driving my truck through the winter and it’s my first diesel you should do a video on how to prepare my truck for winter dos and donts
