Actually Andy, I'm a bit disappointed with Umarex over this one. They made their legends PPK/S blowback, so it should have not been that much of an effort to make this one a blowback. They have released a model called the Makarov Ultra which incorporates blowback, and KWC also has a model of a blowback Makarov.
I have the Umarex Legends PPK/S. I've managed to hit a can out at 75 ft (on film) and 125 ft. Mind you, it takes more than one shot and I was shooting standing & free hand. Love mine. I've had to tear it down once due to some internal wear making the slide stick. A bit of filing and some lube and it's back to normal.
after seeing your review I bought one ... I hate to admit it but my cost was 56 us dollars which included shipping ... very good reviews ... you deserve more viewers ... jc iowa

I have a gen 1 Baikal mp 645k Makarov which uses a lot of parts from the original firearm ( you can’t get more realistic than that) , it will even take a genuine magazine from the real gun. Maybe you could get a Baikal version to test to compare to the Umarex .
I have this Makarov,it is two months old,I have to warn other owners about mine can shoot when turning safe to fire mode if I squeeze the trigger strongly when in safe mode,luckily I've noticed it when empty.
@@nomads163 I did it just to test it,I forgot to write that it happens when the hammer is cocked.The safety mechanism should not let the hammer drop unintentionally.

Hi from Russia) Here we have 4 of 5 owners of CO2 handguns with Makarovs) I also have Umarex makarov Ultra version with blowback and full-size magazine. And it's reall pleasure. Minimum problems and ...eh... i hardly say smth exact about accurasy. It is not outstanding accurate. But it has no any proiblems with accuracy like I have with my Gletcher Beretta (Taurus) brt 92 auto. So first of all it's the gun for pleasure when you handle it and then for real shooing. But when you buy it you can go and shoot and you will be not upset. I think it is also nice as the first CO2 gun.
That is a very good question, but it is like asking a parent to choose which is his favourite child. I have several, but I started with the Beretta 92 replica and I now have several, but I also like classic replicas like the p08 and the Webley Mk6 etc, and I like well engineered different guns like the SA10 and the new m17 from Sig Sauer ( review coming soon). Hate the grips on this! Look cheap! Prefer the walther ppk by umarex. Unfortunately I hate the plastic mag on that gun.. shame umarex didn't rectify that with the newer upgrade.

I prefer non blowback, its cool but it uses a lot of co2 and less fps
