- Here is a playlist with all the videos I made about this car :
• Mercedes w203 C class ...
EVAP system presentation and few tests on a Mercedes w203 c200 . Once you will understand how this system works , it will be more easier to find out with precission what is the faulty part or how to fix it . The components might be different on other cars , however it will be similar on other c160 , c180 , c230 models from the same generation .

i gotta say your videos are super handy, the explanations are good and for the most part i can follow along without too much trouble... Thanks!
I am glad they are helpfull !
A fantastic explanation and diagnosis. Thank you.
You're welcome
excellent Video on the troubleshooting P044 and P0442
You are perfect in your job
Good information and extremely well made video.
thank you for this video.
Great video, certainly have learnt something new, thank you. Sharing knowledge is the best gift you can give to people, you do good work my friend god bless you 👍👌😎😎😎
I am glad these videos can help meny people to keep their cars for longer on the road :)
Planning to upload a video on how to replace the A/C evaporator on these vehicles? I did that job on my w203 2 years ago and was a monumental 16 hour job. Mercedes knows how to do things the complicated way for mechanics...
I never done this on a MB , I will deffinetely do it in the future :)
Good video! Keep going
Thanks !
Nice
I like your videos can you meke a bideos about esp?
Hello, doit, good job. I would like to ask you what application are you using in the smartphone with OBD to see the Oxygen sensor response. Before that, how do you test the Oxygen sensor in that car? Sorry, I have seen you have another video on the oxygen sensor. By the way, my solenoid (same car) failed the vacuum test and I didn't try to remove the wheel to check the long tube that goes from the solenoid to the canister. My preoccupation is that there is a petrol smell sometimes when I park the car. What do you suggest?
Thanks for the video. I have a 2003 Mercedes-Benz c320 basic and mine is making a ticking sound and when i diagnosed it, this error code p0444. Should I changed it? Because i don’t have the vacuum pump you using.what is your advice? Please help
Another question for you. I replaced the purge valve and engine starts, runs but quickly dies. Is your hose method the best way to test for leaks for both lines? I have received the evap system pressure sensor code
The way you pronounce “FUEL” makes me
LOL every time😂😂😂😁😁🤷♂️
Is it possible to workaround EVAP system to work without purge valve and charcoal canister ?
Am having similar issues with my M112 W203 2004.
Smell of fuel vapour is all over the vehicle most times. Some times, the smell will not be there.
Your videos are a huge help. They have assisted me in a few projects so far for the CL203. I have a question regarding the evap system. When I use my OBDII monitor. Only one of the O2 sensors is sending any type of reading. Would that mean that the zero reading sensor is bad and should be replaced?
Second. I am getting the error for “loose fuel cap” and P0410. I have replaced the purge valve, and charcoal canister and all hoses I could. Tried your vacuum test as well. Do you have a recommendation on what the issue could be? Could it be related to the 02 sensor? Thanks again for the great content
Hei ! Thats nice to hear! Good question from the info you wrote they are not coonected .
About the O2 sensor - is it the sensor 1 or 2 ? If its sensor 2 the voltage reading should be steady like 0.2 volts . Sensor 1 goes from 0.1 to 0.99 volts . Check first the values at the connector / bench test . The fuel tank pressure might escape somehow , is there an fuel tank pressure sensor ? Any code for thar ? Also the hose which connects to the tank from the evap canister has a check valve ..
Hello, i have a clc 200k from 2009, due to tikking noise comming from under the rear seats and the fuel tank i replaced the fuel pump but the noise still come back, ik found out when i open the fuel cap the noise goes away so it deducted that pressure is building up in the tank, ik light have a problem with the fuel tank control valve/ purge valve solénoïde/ canister/ fuel tank pressure sensor ?! Thank you
Great video. Please upload a post repair video to see the problem solved
Thnaks ! Meanwhile I cleaned the selenoid with some brake cleaner and it works fine at the moment ; As for the fuel tank , I am still looking for the issue
@@doit_vehicles You should check the fuel pump assy, probably there's an internal leak within the pipes, or even consider the rubber hoses shown on the video, they looked pretty beat up by the elements... Remember also that the fuel tank is pretty big, getting vacuum with that tool could be very difficult.
@@simonavila4076 I will try to do the vacum test with the fuel tank full ( less air ) I suspect the fuel pump assambley gasket , or maybe in this video the fuel level was quite low ( more air as you said ) and there is nothing to worry about .
I'm hoping you can answer this:
My 2005 c240 4matic has a loud whine coming from the inlet of the fuel sending unit. It's driving me nuts.
Could this be caused from some part of the evap system? Like pulling the end of a full balloon to make it squeal.
I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel sending unit.
It doesn't do it if it's cold outside.
Any help you be amazing.
Thanks.
Thanks alot
You're welcome!
Hello i have the same error p0444 on my slk 200 kompressor. I can't solve it, I replaced the valve and checked the two wires one gives me 12v the other wire 0v with the engine off. how can i solve? what can it be? I noticed that when I open the tank cap, air comes out. thanks
Hi bro, im from Malaysia, may i know your OBD type or brand for W203 year 2000
👍
Any chance of a video addressing the oil in MAF and intake issue on this vehicle? Been getting it for a while now after a more spirited drive. Thanks
I will make something in the near future , as meny asked )
Thanks!
Great Video!! I have a W204 C280 European model, and turn on the check engine light, scan the car and throw out the code P0446 (Charcoal Canister Shut-Off Valve) the canister of my car does not carry electric valve, you know what it could be?
That valve is usually in the engine bay on the lines ..
Hello please where is your garage ?
Great Video! Hey do you know anything I can do for a 2005 w203 c230 Kompressor Mercedes with 2 fault codes p0720 and p0500 i'm stuck in limp mode and can't get past 1/2 gear the faults show to be Output Speed Sensor Circuit for p0720 and the other is and vehicle speed sensor for p0500 any input would be a big help. Thanks!
Sorry for late reply . First things I would do is to check for any response from the wheel speed sensor , (is located on one of the front wheels usualy ) ; You can do that with a multimiter backprobing the sensor and spinig the wheel at the same time , or with a compatible scan tool -driving the car . If there is no response , replace the sensors . Than on the transmission there should be another speed sensor (usually a 3 wires one ) and check for response from that sensor as well ( it might be impossible without a scan tool ) ; So if you don't have a scan tool able to read the values of this sensor , you'll probabily have to remove the sensor , backprobe the wires and check for a response while moving a magnet or a metal object in front of the sensor (might not apply for all the sensors) - In that way it is possible to confirm if the sensor is the problem or not .
It might be a uncorelation betwen those 2 sensors ( if one reads different values than the other ) therefore the car enters in safe mode . You will have to do some more tests around this issue and check for clues .
Also check for the fluid quality and level of the transmission and colect data about what happened before the code was triggered ; was there any other warnings ? When the code appeared ..
doit_vehicles Thanks for your input!!! only codes I had got were those two I believe the wheel speed sensors are fine and its actually the Esp module in the front left side under the bonnet needs to be replaced and codes reset. Also i'm thinking the value body might be the issue for the limp mode and lack of gears available to me. The small piece that controls the automatic shifting might be toast. I think if I replace that it should remedy the limp mode issue. I also wanted to ask what car ramps you are using for your car the blue one Thanks a Bunch!
What app are you using on this video? How do you like the functions or any special features?
The app is BlueDriver, mainly for use with the BlueDriver OBD2 Scanner.
It's around $100.
How do you fix code P0497?
Hi quick question. When testing for vaccum on the valve, should the gauge slowly go down? Or should it stay at the pumped PSI? Thank you!!!
It should stay at the pumped PSI
@@doit_vehicles thank you so much for your response!!!
Good video, I have a question is it possible the purge solenoid is broken w/o the code? Mine don't have a code but idle is rough. My RPM at idle is 8,000 when i put to rear or drive it goes down to 7,500 rpm. Consider i don't have a vacuum leak, or everything is in working condition. Like newly tune up.
it i possible that the solenoid will not hold the vaccum / will not seal . it does idle at 8000 rpms ? 🤔 if it's 800 than it's normal . It's also normal for the rpm to drop when you put it in drive .
@@doit_vehicles I did checked the solenoid with my vacuum pump and it’s not holding it. That’s is broken right?
@@Jojo51058 Yes
Hey! That solenoid makes a knocking sound in my mercedes c 200 kompressor. Should it make the knocking sound or is the solenoid probably brocken?
It does not make the sound all the time, but sometimes it does. And I ment broken. Sorry for my bad english! :D
@@mattipoysti Hei ! It is normal to make a knocking sound , However , the selenoid usually openes while driving . Does the engine sounds different when the selenoid clicks ?
@@doit_vehicles Thank you for answering me! It does the knocking sound some times when the car is idling and I think the RPM raises a little bit when the solenoid knocks.
Boss please help me fix my car I have a merc
my vehicle is running late, the petrol rail is empty Could the reason for the discharge of the rail be related to vacuum?
There is no problem in the gas line. I changed the pump and pressure regulator still working late. I came across your video. Could it be running late due to the vacuum solenoid?
what do you meen runing " late " ?
doit_vehicles my car late start ua-cam.com/video/AH1YQ3l8T3U/v-deo.html m111.956 engine
doit_vehicles I unplugged the solenoid, plugged it in, late work got better
the pressure sensor, is it seperate from the level? please make that video
Which pressure sensor ?
@@doit_vehicles the fuel tank pressure sensor, and its vent. i have ahissing comimg from driver rear (LHD)
Do the 2011 w204 c300 and c350 have this
Yes , if it has a gasoline engine
Толковый парень, жаль нет перевода, в ютуб очень мало информации по 203 мерседес на русском языке.
anyone is free to translate them
Mine has p0455
Did you find the problem for p0455?
Another example of why the (1995) W202 is better, the W203 is wonderful until you have to start chasing your tail on emissions problems where codes don't tell all
Dang. I feel like I'M learning from Tony Stark. Genius.
😂😎
Your english is a katastrof
For you to know that you speak a perfect native english , there should be people like me with a katastrof english ; otherwise you won't know your english is perfect
